Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for May 2022?

@dschons You are not alone. I think the key is to recognize that Sony is unaware that Random Angry Gamer #5 already owns 1 or more of the games they've chosen for this month. Also that they can't make everybody happy each month. I have zero interest in FIFA, but I can at least appreciate that it's a well-reviewed game that fans of the sport would be happy to get for free. All I hope for each month is that there will be at least 1 game that interests me, and at least 1 game that is appropriate for my kid to play. Sometimes both things happen, sometimes one, sometimes none.

Re: Pay for PS5, PS4 Platinum Trophies Is Rampant on PS Store Right Now

I've always thought of the trophies as a nice little bonus for doing something obscure, or a chuck on the shoulder for completing a task/quest/challenge that took some effort. Piling up easy-to-get platinum trophies so that you can declare to the world "I have ____ platinum trophies now!" seems like an empty pursuit. I'm really not trying to be critical here, but how can it mean anything if you achieved a platinum by mashing buttons for a couple of minutes?

Re: PS5's DualSense Dubbed the Best Controller of All Time in Public Vote

The first time I played Astro's Playroom, I knew I was dealing with something that wasn't simply the latest variation of the PlayStation controller. The way you feel tension as you engage the trigger buttons, the way you can experience the differences and the realism of surfaces beneath your characters' feet, the nuances in the rumble feature that allow you to authentically feel everything from the gentle patter of rain to the immense release of energy from a nearby explosion — the DualSense is on a completely different playing field.

@rjejr There's a limit to how high the walls can go, sadly. But you can make them pretty high. I agree with you — nothing more exciting than a young phenom racing around the bases to leg out a triple. That's definitely more thrilling than an aging shlub crushing a dinger and then gingerly trotting around the bases.
