Re: Very Promising Action RPG Visions of Mana Adventures to PS5, PS4 In August

@PuppetMaster I'm actually starting to build a small but essential game/DLC library for my PSP/Vita/PS3 because some of those physical game prices are insane. Then again, if I purchase everything I want I'm looking at around 200€ for sure. But if I start building the library now and slowly purchase games until the end of the year, it will be a lesser blow on my wallet. The old stores are for sure going down so we better stock up on those titles and download them while we can. (And yes, I'm aware CFW is also an option but I want to have original hardware and software as long as I can)

You made me check if my GTA original trilogy is stil in my download list. Fortunately it is. I think a similar thing happened to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, it can't be bought anymore.

The all-digital future is not looking bright, at least in my opinion. But it's always nice to meet people like you who like their physical media

@PuppetMaster Wait, it is also gone from your download list? I didn't know that is possible. I mean, from the technical point of view, sure, it's possible. But from a legal standpoint, how can that be legit?

I bought some games which were removed from PSN in the meantime, but I can still download them (or can I, I must check). Well thanks for the heads up, I will keep this in mind and continue to download games (to my PS3 at least) since the download list can't be trusted.

@PuppetMaster Around 20€ per game is a good price point so I'll definitely be on the lookout. I like how you mentioned physical prices since I tend to stay away from digital most of the time.

Also, I went to the Square Enix store to see if there are any special editions for the Visions of Mana and yes there is one: the collector's edition is 220€. But I ain't payin' that kind of money for a plushie and some CDs.

@PuppetMaster Wow, thank you very much for the detailed explanation! That's why I like this community, you always learn something new.

You are right, I did spam attack without thinking too much about the stamina bar. That one is on me. Regardless, I didn't spend too much time on the game, which I will correct in the future.

Legend of Mana is actually the one I have as a physical PS1 disc. I bought it as a part of a larger bulk and it did standout with the graphics when I looked its cover. I don't mind 2D graphics since I also play retro games. As long as there is a good story and gameplay, I'm there. Also you made a great parallel with Dark Cloud 2, I loved the georama! It reminds me a bit of Lost Sphear where you can also shape the world a bit but not as detailed as in these other games.

I will certainly watch out for these new Mana iterations on my local second hand market and as soon as I see a good price, I'll snag them.

Re: Video Game Leaking Culture Has Hit an Embarrassing New Low

Czar_Khastik

@UltimateOtaku91 S/he sent me some leaks regarding LOTR: Gollum 2 but apparently that's a fraud as well.

@get2sammyb Hey kids, guess what your dad was doing last night while you were slaying robots with that semi-nude lady in Stellar Blade

@CWill97 You need to pose as a barely legal Chinese woman and make leaks about a non-existent funny sounding game like Wuchong/Wutang/Changtong which you claim is the next Bloodborne coming from a Chinese developer
(Just a disclaimer, this is a stab at all those new similar sounding soulslike games and not at the nationality)

Re: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus PS4 Reportedly 'Runs Almost 10% Faster Than It Should'

Czar_Khastik

@get2sammyb That is true. But, and there is a huge but in the room:

  • Sony knows how their legacy systems engines work so they should have an advantage over amateurs when doing emulation
  • Sony is selling these retro games for a price they find fair
  • Sony marketed their highest PS Plus tier as a place where you can enjoy retro games

The consumers should be loud about this and not settle for subpar FPS, resolutions and other quirks because they paid the price tag Sony set.

Re: Reaction: You Said You Were Sick of PS5's Sad Dad Sims, So You Better Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Czar_Khastik

@naruball I was in the situation when I couldn't afford things and now that I can more easily afford them, I always say: "50€ has the same value for me then as it has now".

Even if you spend a stupid amount of money on a single game (looking at you, retro games on Ebay), as long as you value it, then it's all good. But paying 70€ for a plastic case and a disc with an unfinished game which people won't play day 1 and without anything a bit special as a manual (oh, the PS1/2/3 days) or an OST just doesn't make sense to me when that game will plummet to half of its price in a matter of months.

And regarding the backlog, it's the same as with women: they have a closet to the brim full with clothes and yet they have nothing to wear. The same way I "have nothing to play"

Re: Reaction: You Said You Were Sick of PS5's Sad Dad Sims, So You Better Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Czar_Khastik

@naruball That's true. If you don't support the studio by purchasing their games, there is no moving forward for them.

On the other hand, my backlog is so large that if the gaming industry stopped creating games today I would have enough things to play for the rest of my life. Then again, I'm a sucker for deluxe editions with artbooks/steelbooks so these standard editions just don't it for me (unless, as I said, I plan to play them day 1)
