So another month to skip Essential and probably go loose on Extra/Premium. Totally fine by me, I'm surely getting my money's worth.

I'm getting a bit bored of all those soulslike games, I'd much rather have a different serious game next month (next to a children's game and an arcade). If you're not interested in one you're probably not interested in all of them, more so than in other "genres".

What's the reason people pay this amount of money for a controller? Is it more from a comfort point of view or can you actually achieve better results with it in certain games?

@NoCode23 Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried going to the PS Plus section directly on your console? At my PS5 both lists are seperated.

I continue going through PS Plus Extra/Premium and I’m loving it so far! Just finished my return to Arkham City and probably will be playing either Metro Exodus or Heavy Rain this weekend.

@ColdHandGee I only played the PS5 version of RE:2. It’s nice that the update is free, but it really doesn’t add much to the PS4 version. It kinda looks the same and there are no notable dualsense integrations.

I read that the same goes for RE:3 and 7.

I’m very happy with the overall package I’m getting for just € 100 (or two games) a year. I don’t really care if the games are on Extra or Premium.

My OCD would be thankful if the first AC would be added though. Now there’s a huge playthrough to delve into without a real beginning.

@Marquez It’s such a great game, enjoy! Especially the combat is amazing. Never thought I’d be yelling out loud combinations while slashing up enemies 😅

Further diving in PS Plus Premium and loving it. Just started Arkham City. Didn’t expect those games (already completed Asylum) to be more than nostalgic but they’re actually still a lot of fun!

@cali_kush70 Thank you all for the replies! I’ll try to play them in chronological order and if I would get bored I switch to Odyssey first.

I think the criticism on Premium is a bit harsh. Yes, it could definitely improve. But still, it holds 87 games that aren’t on Extra.

I think that’s not too bad, considering it only launched a few months ago and costs € 1,67 more than Extra.

I can’t wait for this. I’ve played DS and DS:DC together for about 250 hours and it’s only because of my backlog I’m not immediately jumping in for a third playthrough.

Any tips on which AC games to play first on PS5? The selection on PS Plus is a bit overwhelming. I didn’t like the setting of Valhalla but loved the first one or two AC’s back when they came out. Haven’t played any of the others.

Seems like AC is quite complete now. Where should I start, having only placed AC1 way back and tried a bit of Valhalla (didn’t like it).

Cool that the “support” is supposedly good, but another way to put it is that the base game was very limited. I was shocked by how soon you’re through the single player content. After the menu books there are a few races left and then suddenly that’s that.

Just check chapter 6 of this guide if you don't want a negative surprise. It's only a handful of Extra/Premium games leaving and they announce it months in advance. So no biggie.

I’m not that impressed actually. Perhaps 4 or 5 games I’m looking forward too. But there might be some jewels amongst the (quite a lot) titles I don’t know of course.

Please also mind that “winter 2023” (Final Fantasy) most probably means Q1 2024.

@Jayslow The world is not the problem, it’s everything I hoped it would be. The gameplay is just so confusing though that I never connected with the game. All those menu items, the confusing map, the complex story… Didn’t want to invest any more time.

Are you aware your whole news feed has been swallowed by one game?

Still one of the games I’m most hyped for. That last trailer/gameplay looked breathtaking. Let’s hope we can finally get our hands on it next year.

@Lavalera It gets even better. FF XIII-2 is actually one of my favorite entries in the series, although I seem to be the only one with that opinion. It combines the story of the first part with an addictive take on open world exploration.

I find it hard to agree on this list (GT7's single player is way too short and Wreckfest is just a mess), but I'm happy WRC9 gets the recognition it deserves. Still the best use of the dual sense I've seen/felt so far.

I still don’t know whether I should give these games a real chance and with which one to start. Since I absolutely loved Returnal (and finished it) I feel ready for more difficult games where dying is part of the process. I tried Demon’s Souls briefly via PS Plus though and was quite overwhelmed by all the mechanics and the relentless enemies (however small).

Does it get better when you pull through or should I start with Elden Ring instead (although DS is part of my subscription)?

Just give them some time and relax… It’s € 1,70 (…) a month more than Extra and Extra is overwhelming so far. What is everyone complaining about? If I had to pay another € 1,70 a month I’d happily do so.

Cyberpunk, what a disappointment. I finally played it on PS5 two weeks ago. Very cool atmosphere, but all those menus and options are so confusing. It never clicked with me.

@stvevan I started last year and have been playing on and off for some months. You should be prepared for lots of grinding and should initially invest some time to really find your way in the world/story and mechanics. Besides that I love it though. There’s even more charm than in “regular” FF’s and a lot of freedom to find your own way and rhythm.

You probably know already, but there’s a free introduction version through the PS Store that lets you play a big part of the story. I think I played it intensively on a daily basis for about two months before I had to start paying.

@starnivore I feel the same. I just subscribed to PS Plus Premium and have tons of games to play, but I can hardly hold the urge to return to FF XIV. I’m still at the beginning stages of Heavensward though which feels like a lot of grinding, but I’m sure many magical moments are waiting for me.

When Sony will just be open about it and explain for instance that emulating the games proves a little trickier than expected and the games will be added eventually, it's totally fine by me. People seem a bit impatient, although Sony should open up. Let's not forget it's only € 1,70 a month more than PS Plus Extra.

I started with Cyberpunk 2077 last week but I’m very overwhelmed to the point of almost quitting. The difficult menus, the gameplay, the confusing story… I just don’t know where to look and what to do. Whereas normally I really like to find my own way in (open world) games.

I really want to dive in the game again after I went on a hiatus around the beginning stages of Heavensward. I just can’t find a relaxed state of mind though to really go for it, with so many (PS Plus) games to play.
