Why do VR games have floating hands?

@Tecinthebrain Let’s hope the sharp decline in popularity for superhero movies will have its effect on games as well. Spider-Man is the only really popular superhero at the moment I think.

Boring and safe choice. Miles Morales already was a bit dull because it was basically the same game as SM1. I feel no urge whatsoever to play the same game for the third time.

Overall well done though! These lists are always fun to follow and the presentation by PushSquare is topnotch as usual.

I had this whole backlog in mind from December on but just can’t get enough of Gran Turismo 7! Right after release I sold it because of the lack of single player content and now it’s just packed. I spend over 50 hours already and am nowhere near halfway through. They did such a great job.

If I can distance myself for a while I’ll continue Alan Wake (first game).

The “we” is sometimes a bit confusing at PushSquare. “We” also wrote a 6/10 review. I understand they’re not the same people, but it’s the same platform communicating.

On-topic; I’ll be playing it as well. As a big FF fan I have my doubts about this game, so playing it “for free” is great to stay complete.

I’m having a blast with my rerun of Gran Turismo 7. Lots of single player content now. I’ll probably start with Alan Wake Remastered as well, since I want to play AW2 in the future and my PS Plus is running out.

Among other PS Plus games I want to play in the next six months are Scarlet Nexus, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Humanity.

I’m a sucker for year lists, but I play most games in the year after release because of my backlog, streaming services and discounts.

My top 10 is:
1. Starfield.
10. Final Fantasy XVI

Haven’t played it yet, but from what I’ve read it’s not goty material. Miles Morales already was fun but too repetitive and I understand SM2 is basically the same game for the third time in a row. Game of the years should bring more to the table.

Lost Soul Aside is easily my most anticipated game, based on previous demos. But will it be released in 2024? I think it’s still pretty quiet?

Would be nice to have an article build around this list with some short explanations per game. Lots of titles I haven’t heard of before.

Just finished Miles Morales; just like S-M1 a fun little inbetween game. I started replaying Gran Turismo 7 today (after being grumpy for having to create a whole new PS profile in order to start a new game) and will possibly start with Alan Wake 1 this weekend to see if AW2 will be my type of game.

I’ll doubt I’ll ever play it, but if I do it will be combined with the next expansion. 3-4 hours is just too short to dive back into it and for me as a FF fan it already wasn’t a very strong game to begin with. Also, € 10 for 3-4 hours is quite expensive.

@Mephisto2869 It actually wouldn't have been my game of the year if I had to vote in the first 20 hours of playing. After 250 hours it’s my clear number 1.

Cyberpunk isn’t even a game, it’s an expansion. Plus, Starfield is missing.

Even reading reviews of these games seems like a waste of time, let alone play them. It’s been months since I claimed anything as a Premium subscriber.

Started a PS Plus end run to empty my backlog before my subscription runs out in July. First up is Miles Morales. Only played it for an hour so far, feels a lot like SM1 so far.

Might also start up Gran Turismo 7 which I rebought now there is a lot of new content available.

Is there also a list of PS exclusives on this site that gets updated once in a while?

RE Village gold edition for € 19,99 is an absolute steal. Just bought the disc version (also gold) for PS5 for € 26,50 though. Also a steal.

After +200 hours I want to quit Starfield (for a while), so focussing on the faction and main quests now. After that I want to play as many as possible PS Plus games until July, because I’ll let my subscription run out. So far Miles Morales, The Callisto Protocol, Scarlet Nexus, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Alan Wake Remastered are on top of my PS Plus backlog.

@Vega37 Same price as before, so a bad deal since you used to get the same discount over the old price. Plus so far it’s not possible to get the discount when you already got Premium.

Also, about the price is not true. Premium is € 151,99 a year while GP Ultimate via the Games with Gold converter (offered by Microsoft themselves) is € 6,99 a month.

@silverspeed That’s an absolute steal, no-brainer. And if you don’t like it you can easily resell it for at least the same price.

Resident Evil Village for € 15,99 is very tempting. I heard the Gold edition is the better choice though, so I’m not sure yet.

@REALAIS I have GP so much cheaper (via the Games with Gold conversion option).

And the regular discounts for PS Plus (that card business is too much of a hassle for me) only work when upgrading, this article says. So you first have to let your subscription run out to use a next promotion and even then you pay full price of what the subscription used to cost before the extreme price increase.

It’s just not worth it for my anymore, especially seeing the sort of games we’re getting nowadays.

I guess they got what they wished for: I’m switching permanently to Game Pass from Premium. Even if I did get the discount it’s way too expensive, plus the quality of games is terrible the last couple of months.

@Terra_Custodes I see your point. For me an emulator seems like too much work to find out if I like the games at all. 4K would have been nice, but this is better than nothing (what I had until last month). So 6/10.

@Terra_Custodes Nah, probably somewhere in between. For someone who wants to find out what the MGS deal is about, it’s a nice and easy way to do it. I don’t see another (easy) way to play the first game. It’ll probably be discounted as well rather sooner than later.

Didn’t they foresee these months would be terrible game wise? It seems like incredibly bad marketing in combination with the insane price increase.

I hope it brings more of that FF magic than Remake and XVI did. Especially XVI left me totally unhooked as a long FF fan. If it improves on Remake as XIII-2 did on XIII I’m more than happy.

Sounds good (literally)! Time will tell how durable they are compared to Pulse headsets.

@Mikey856 Yes, I mean the games with confirmed release dates. I’m wondering if we’ll even get a single exclusive in the first half of 2024. Games like Gran Turismo 8 won’t probably even come out before the PS6 is released.

@Stickleman I feel sorry for you, but honestly I don’t recognize a single one of your problems after using it intensively for two years. For instance the controller battery life: you can just put two controllers on a docking station and use the other when the first one is empty (although I’ve never had an empty one after playing for hours)?

It’s a very good console, especially combined with dual sense and 3D audio it gave gaming a new dimension for me. The lack of exclusives worries me a bit though, we haven’t had a lot of them and I believe at the moment not a single exclusive is on the horizon?

The old PS5 looks so much better, much more streamlined. There’s something completely off with this slim version.

Not defending the movie, don’t even know if I’m going. Captain Marvel for me was one of the best post-Endgame MCUs though, so I wonder why this new one already has so much backlash.

Wow, this seems like a must-play game! I’m not going to read the whole review in fear of spoilers, but do you guys recommend playing the first Alan Wake before I start with 2?

After Starfield I’ll try to empty my PS backlog as much as possible until my subscription for Extra runs out in summer 2024. After that my PS5 will be solely for games I buy on disc and my Series X for Game Pass. My backlog has become ridiculous anyway.

Still want to give them a try. I never played any of the MGS’s and as a big Death Stranding fan I’m curious what the fuzz is about.
