@Matroska Hmm, might stick with the two base games first then and play CC after that. Don’t even know BoC… As far as I can see it’s also not playable on current gen.
As for Star Wars I’ll stick with Koothrappali: 4, 5, then 2 & 3 as a flashback, finish with 6 and forget about 1
Will this be the final game or will there be a part 3? If it’s the final game I’ll be playing Crisis Core and replaying Part 1 first. That’s the correct order to play them in, right?
Started playing my first ever Madden (23) this week. Still finding my way after the solid practice mode. Rookie mode definitely felt too easy but the controls still feel too complex for higher modes.
Well, it’s a different sort of selection this time and I think that’s a good thing to appeal to different players. For me personally this is the first or second good month in a year or so, mainly because of NBA.
I downgraded from Premium to Extra but had stacked it until July 2024, so I have Premium until then. What’s the best way/time to stack Extra before that date?
“This time around, Sony is taking 25 per cent off all 12-month subscription plans, so this is typically a good opportunity to renew or extend your membership. What's more, existing subscribers can get 25 per cent off when upgrading to a higher tier”
Don’t know if I understand this correctly. How’s the latter a plus on the former? You already have the 25 per cent regardless if you stick with your current plan or upgrade, right?
Giving my PS5 some rest after (another) 120 hours of Forbidden West and checking out if my Series X with GP wasn’t a complete waste of money. At least I’m enjoying myself with Planet of Lana right now. Cute little puzzler that has me hooked.
Why can’t I vote for Phantom Blade 0 being the big winner? That was the only “hell yeah!” moment I had during the show but here it’s a miss because of… an accent?
I just can't imagine this becoming a success. What's the point of a handheld if you have to be around your PS5 to use it? Unless you spend hours a day on the toilet that is.
Never played any of these games but I adored Death Stranding so I really want to try them out. I'm really glad it's possible to play the games as they were meant to be before diving into a remake.
That’s partly because the current subs haven’t run out yet. I (and probably many others) downgraded to Extra but I’m listed as Premium until a certain date.
Finishing my second, very satisfying playthrough of Forbidden West after +120 hours. Will be dusting off my few months old Series X after this until FF XVI comes out. Think I'll start with Wo Long and wait a bit longer for some updates on Redfall.
I’ve said this before but games aren’t expensive at all, relatively speaking. In over 25 years they’ve seen little to none inflation, including the transition from guilders to euros (I’m from the Netherlands) which caused huge inflation to other sectors.
I just can’t pick one because it doesn’t seem fair to compare games that were important for different reasons:
Final Fantasy X because it was the first game that really got me hooked. I even was in love with Yuna…
Death Stranding because it got me through the pandemic with only partly losing my mind.
NieR:automata because it’s so memorable that it even let me keep on returning to a scene (the theme park) to just soak up the atmosphere and music without really doing anything.
Elden Ring because its creativity and quality just seem endless. No matter how many sessions you’ve had, it just gives you a new sensation every single time.
This is not a gamers problem but a much wider generational problem. Social media gave everyone a voice and an opinion - lots of people can't handle that much freedom of speech (especially from the safety of a fake account).
You see it everywhere, not only in the gaming industry. From sports rivalry to political discussions and even the least thought provoking news, every comments section turns really nasty in the blink of an eye.
I played FF14 two years ago for a while and I absolutely loved it. I don’t really dare to return to it though. The size of it all just feels too overwhelming and I’m sure I won’t have time for other games anymore. I believe I was at the end of the base game or beginning of the first expansion.
I don’t want to be negative, but don’t really get the appraisal. It looks like a lot, but apart from R&C all games are either old, have mediocre/bad ratings on PS or are niche arcade. Not exactly “something for everyone”.
I might try out The Evil Within 2, but hope it doesn’t feel like an old game too much.
My backlog is still huge though, so no problem. Will be downgrading to Extra though when my subscription ends.
Nice to see my fellow Dutchmen having this much success on a global scale.
I wonder what will happen with games sales now the PS5 consoles are selling like crazy. Will FF16 reach 10 million or are the series too "niche" for that?
Been playing Forbidden West since a month now for the second time and although I’m not even halfway through the huge world doesn’t bore me this time. It also helps that I changed some crucial things in my tv/PS5 setup, so only now I’m truly witnessing how gorgeous this game looks.
If I didn't have too many games to play and too little time I'd be playing Returnal over and over again. Still one of the best gaming experiences I've had, together with Elden Ring and Nier:Automata. PS5 is really delivering so far.
I find games relatively cheap actually, considering inflation over the last decades. If I remember correctly they’re not even that much more expensive than in de 90s, 30 years ago!
Essential is just like Games With Gold for me; I get them for free but am not interested in them. Which is fine. I pay for Extra/GP Ultimate and both are worth the money.
Most of the times I’ve finished such an enormous game I’m totally done with it, no matter how good it was. I just couldn’t get enough of Elden Ring though. It has been by far my best gaming experience ever and I have to stop myself to not jump back into it even now after I finished the end bosses a few months ago and have tons of games in my backlog. I’ll definitely play the DLC, perhaps in combination with a new game+ of the main game.
Are they going to do this “console with disc drive but game included as download” thing with every big release now? I already have a PS5, but as a big FF fan I would buy them separately and pay more because I actually want to have the game. I want to touch it and add it to the others. This would be a good solution for the digital PS5, not the one with an actual disc drive.
I really hope it offers a solid single player experience in the future, I'd buy it again for sure. I loved pretty much everything about the game, but sold it because of the limited single player content.
Nothing about the director here? I don’t even think Blomkamp is capable of delivering a bad movie if he tried. He’ll add so much creativity to the mix that it will at least be a lot of fun to watch.
@Konks @Kidfunkadelic83 Thanks both! I’ll go with Generations then. I read it also contains a lot more content than 10, so might be a nice one to keep on revisiting in the future.
Question for the racing/rally enthousiasts here… Should I pick up WRC 10 for € 8,99 or WRC Generations for € 19,99 in the PS Store sale? Is the latter worth the extra money?
“In addition, the PS Plus Collection will also be taken away on 9th May 2023, which contains another 19 great PS4 titles. You'll still be able to play them once they're gone as long as you have an active membership…”
Don’t forget to claim them first though. If you haven’t claimed them before May 9th they’re gone.
Hmm… WRC Generations for € 19,99 is very temptating. I loved WRC 9 and I heard this one is packed with content. I hope it won’t be on Plus in the coming months though.
XIII-2 is still one of my favorite FF’s. The traveling between worlds was just so much fun. Never played XIII-3 (although owning the game) since right then I switched to the new console. So yes, please bring the trilogy as a remaster!
@nocdaes Thanks! Good to know for some users it would be a solution. For me personally I'd never ever use it. My (preferred) setup is that my tv switches to gaming automatically when I turn on the PS5 and when I'm on holiday I unplug it.
Hmm, even after all this information and my questions that were answered I think I still didn't understand what remote play actually is. I now get the feeling your PS5 needs to be turned on to actually use it? So it's not just a case of "Spider-Man is on my PS5 so I can play it on my handheld (with my PS5 turned off) because I have bought the game already"?
In that case I really don't see the point of remote play at all.

Very happy for the first time in months, because of NBA 2K23.

@Far_Cide I liked last year’s game so I guess it will be kind of the same.
