@Mythologue How did you decide on a build for Elden Ring? I want to do a second playthrough with a build to stuck with for the whole ride. I find it difficult to imagine which build will be suitable for the endgame though.
I finished the main game/end bosses on my first playthrough, but had to totally rebuild my character for the final boss with the help of a YT video. It was the first souls game I ever finished, so I’m no expert in this. It all seems a bit overwhelming to oversee it all while making the crucial first build decisions.
@Jey887 Because the price differences are just not okay. These deals/prices just aren’t that special. It’s an unfair situation, since you don’t have any other choice than buying from the PS store when you have a digital PS5.
@EquiinoxGII You’re probably right. I really loved most FF’s from X (my first one) onwards but Intergrade didn’t do that much for me. I thought it was okay.
I haven’t played Rebirth yet but I guess the experience will be quite similar for me.
Just finished Ghostwire: Tokyo. Such a great game! Somehow it kind of stayed under the radar, but I loved its atmosphere and gameplay. For the people that haven’t played it - it’s on PS Plus until March 19th and is quite a short game.
Now I’m finished I’ll try that Silent Hill showcase (don’t expect too much of it) and after that either Scarlet Nexus, Steelrising or Humanity (my Plus subscription ends July 4th).
For anyone who can’t find the glitched trilogy price in their local PS Store: just copy the url from this thread and change the “en-gb” to your country code (“nl-nl” in my case) and it pops up.
Thanks for posting this! I have absolutely no clue what I just bought but it feels good nonetheless
A third installment would easily be the best gaming news in many years. There are only a handful of games that made such a lasting impression on me as Automata did.
I really need to play it again, but my backlog is huge…
I’m curious about it and I’m sure GT7 and the Resident Evil games will bring a great experience. For the amount and quality of content available I wouldn’t even be tempted if it was 50% cheaper though.
Quite a hefty price, but I trust them it will be more than worth it. I’ll probably replay the base game once my PS Plus runs out beginning of July and incorporate the DLC in the same playthrough.
@Voltan I have a few hours per week to game. I hope I can just about make it with doing side missions.
@ The others: It’s the total sum of the service becoming less interesting by the month, the insane price spike and now the rushing to finish a game when I finally found something cool to play. The service already holds very little value for me (I’m letting it run out this Summer), so buying a physical copy of something that’s on Plus is a no-go at the moment.
FFS… Now I FINALLY have a Plus game (Ghostwire: Tokyo) that I actually enjoy after the first two hours and I’ll have to hurry to finish it. PS Plus nowadays just sucks. Such a disappointment after a strong introduction back when the new tiers were introduced.
I owned all 5 regular PlayStations but never a Pro model. This time again I’m perfectly fine with waiting for the PS6 (as long as my 5 won’t break down) so I actually see a real step up in performance. Games are still far removed from exploiting the real power of the regular PS5, so I rather see some more effort in that department than in the hardware.
Started and quit Alan Wake 1 - felt too dated for me. Started Ghostwire: Tokyo (as part of rounding off PS Plus before it expires) after that and so far I’m loving it! Really, really cool atmosphere.
I’m dying to play this game because of the reviews, but I tried Alan Wake 1 last week and just couldn’t get through it. It felt so frustrating with the clunky and one-sided combat.
Nothing in it for me once again. Unless the older Tales games are still a recommendation to play (by today’s standards). I really liked Tales of Arise, but finished it a long time ago already.
I deliberately haven’t watched anything yet, since I want to be surprised when playing it. Could take a while though with my humongous backlist and I also want to replay Integrade first. So that will probably be in 2025.
And still I haven’t played a single Gears of War after buying my first Xbox a year ago. Are there any games in the series that are still cool when you don’t feel the nostalgia? I have GP so probably have access to them all.
Finally something in it for me. Steelrising is exactly the kind of game I have a subscription for (until June): a title that speaks to me but was too much of a risk to pay for.
Good thing to let us know your first impressions after they pulled the review code trick. I’ll patiently await the full review. I’m hesitant to buy games on release day anyway nowadays since most games need lots of patching in the first months. If a company decides to net release review codes in advance all alarm bells go off.
@MrGilly69 No way, it improved immensely over the last year and a half to the point of being nothing short of fantastic now. I rebought it last month and I’m over 150 hours in now - way more than I ever spend on a racing game. There’s still loads of things to do after all that time.
Great atmosphere indeed! Very original, quality game. After a few days I was done with it, because randomly stumbling upon the right pieces became more and more lucky shots instead of being able to control the whole thing. Up to that point it was amazing though.
@Nepp67 Thanks, make sense! The exploration part plus choosing strategically to return to a specific enemy once you’re stronger are what makes Elden Ring such a beautiful experience. I can also imagine being overpowered will ruin your first experience with Shadow of the Erdtree.
@Nepp67 What do you recommend for the second playthrough: keep all your progress from playthrough 1 (will this be too easy?) or start all over with a new build?
@Czar_Khastik That's just ridiculous trolling and you know it. Everyone has their own favorite games in the series, but you know very well they are not among the worst games ever made.
Once again nothing for me unfortunately. I have already played RE2 (excellent game), the rest are not something I turn my PS5 on for. Should've ended my subscription a year sooner in hindsight.
Still GT7, after 120 hours. I was going to clean my PS Plus backlog since last December before it expires this Summer, but GT7 just has me hooked. Hard to believe I initially sold the game after release because of a lack of single player content. It’s just fantastic in its current state.
I never understood the problem with battery life. With the dual charger and two controllers you never run out of battery. Just pick up the other one when the first one is empty (which never happened with me in three years time).
@GuttyYZ Have you tried deleting the save in game and making a new save file? I know on Xbox this works sometimes for problems like this. Perhaps at PS5 as well?
Very original game. I loved the atmosphere and applaud the risk they took. After a while I lost my interest though, since it seemed so random to stumble upon the right clip and you had to watch everything over and over again.

Continuing my “empty Plus backlog before it expires” mission. Tried and didn’t like Scarlet Nexus. Will try Steelrising next.
