As of now, the best value seems to be the 2nd tier. The PS4+5 lineup is honestly pretty great as of now. I know the PS classics are just a slice, but so far I ain’t impressed.
@Jackpaza0508 There’s evidence to suggest that Garfield and Shredder already had work done on them before launch. They just had to be cut due to time constraints most likely, and because of this they made them free. These are actual post launch developed fighters so I think it’s fair that they’re paid.
I will say tho, this is probably my favorite version of the octopath/hd-2D artstyle. Octopath and TS just look extremely washed out and unexpressive most of the time. Not extremely huge on the artstyle fundamentally, but this is definitely the most pleasing one to look at out of them.
One thing I am pleasantly surprised by is Kena being in a top 15/20. It’s so nice seeing an indie game have legs like these. It was my 2nd favorite game last year and deserves everything.
You know, I shouldn’t be asking for special edition console bundles for games like God of War Ragnarok or Final Fantasy 16 where the consoles have a unique look to them when considering the stock and scalper issues… but I want to.
Feb 2023 seems like the spot for me. People are forgetting that another Square PS5 exclusive is coming out in the holiday season—Forspoken—and I doubt Square wants to cannibalize sales. That’s being said, I am immensely hyped for this and if both Forspoken and FF16 are home runs then I genuinely will try to buy a PS5 way earlier than I anticipated.
Techland are extremely commendable devs. They just stay in their lane and do what their own audience wants, no more no less. From making Dying Light 2 essentially just Dying Light + to now giving every Dying Light player the DLCs for free, they’re sticking to what they’re good at and what people like.
Do Devolver games usually have embargoes like these where it’s extremely close to the games release? Or is this something different they’re doing for Trek to Yomi? If it’s the latter then I’m kinda nervous.
I’m still busy with a bunch of earlier and backlog titles, but there’s actually a decent bit I personally like that I know won’t be everyone’s tea. Mainly Sifu, DNF Duel, Trek to Yomi, and (the only one im probably gonna check out immediately) Capcom Fighting Collection.
Unironically, the fact that they have Tekken 2 is hype. Namco has rarely rereleased old Tekken games, and on the rare chances they do it’s always 99% of the time 3. This is showing me that they’re taking the effort to release old games that have rarely been rereleased before (or they might just be licensing cheap, lower quality titles in beloved series but let me be optimistic here).
Man perspective is a funny thing. This is a pretty bad month for me—another by the numbers EA sports game and two indie games that, while good, are very similar to other titles (Hades and Valheim). Last month was really good I thought tho—A remake of a classic and a really good and unique indie title. However, people were visceral against the lineup last month while people were pretty mild in reaction to the leaks. Idk, EA is cringe.
Kinda don’t like how Xenoblade 3 and this are coming out only a month a part and they both seem massive, but this seems like a sizable step up from even SMT V imo so I’m really hyped.
I know this is gonna sound potentially bad. However, I don’t mind the idea of these paid demos. After reading this and Sony’s essentially mandates regarding them, it seems like the option was either trials or no demos at all compared to the notion of paid demos replacing free demos.
We are not doing this. We are not celebrating “No NFTs” as a selling point. It’s literally the bare minimum of what a game should not have and it’s been like that up until like, 8 months ago. Ubisoft are celebrating them not drinking from the well they poisoned.
So many games these days are announced in the lamest ways. The splinter cell remake, max payne remake, probably some more in forgetting, and now this. It feels like game announcements are now “hey we’re making this please come work for us.”
In the 1 1/2 years this game’s been out we’ve gotten post launch Hawkeye Hawkeye again Black Panther which honestly seemed like the highlight of the game Spider-Man only for the playerbase that has a vastly superior Spider-Man game Thor again Gotta wonder how this game came to have 200ish concurrent players on Steam.
The only thing I hope for them is for them to be either 1. Completely isolated from most single player first party studios, while the multiplayer studios can carry the moniker of being Sony’s live service sector (ie: Bungie and Destiny) 2. Being supplemental side projects for already established and great titles and studios (ie: Ghost of Tsushima Legends/LoU Factions) Either way, just don’t have it impact their single player titles in either quality or frequency and I’m happy. I might even support it if the games are good and money from those projects go to the overall PS ecosystem including bigger and better single player games.
This is like the third Ubisoft leak/rumor/whatever that has happened this week and every single title sounds the exact same to me I could not care less for this company except for Prince of Persia
I know this sounds small, but this was by far one of the biggest turn offs for me with the original Horizon. After coming from BotW and Ghost it felt more tedious and annoying than immersive. Incredibly happy that this option is here, while not also being the default in case people do find themselves being immersed.
Now if the amount Aloy talks can be toggled as well we got a 10/10 here
Yeah we have the monthly “just add a garbage failed western multiplayer title” meant to be the headline, but Slay the Spire and SpongeBob are titles I’ve heard amazing things about from their niche communities so I’m more than happy that I get them free this month.
PS1: Persona 2 duology, Tekken 3, Xenogears, Gex, MGS 1 PS2: DQ8, Ico, Crash Twinsanity, Capcom VS SNK 2, God of War PSP: The two PSP God of War games, the PSP SoulCalibur, Daxter, Crisis Core
Didn’t want to go with the obvious stuff only but thought some stuff like MGS 1 and God of War I couldn’t go without. However I would give up life and limb for any accessible version of Crisis Core and CvS 2.
I can’t wait to buy the physical copy of the game I bought the PS4 port of after buying the PS3 original in order to pay for the yearly subscription to then get access to GTA lootboxes for the chance to GTA V NFTs and if I collect all 20 of them I’ll get a 15% on the $10,000 GTA V ultra shark card
Sifu is getting a $50 physical version with tons of physical bonuses in May, please support that instead
I really don’t like dogging on devs, but these devs absolutely took advantage of the attention they were getting and only ended up burning everything in the end. I hope any future endeavors are a success and the team isn’t discouraged, but I’m certainly not going to be sticking around to see it.
Sidenote: I hate the name “essential” for the base version. Essential sounds like it’s an embellished version. When I first read the headline I thought ‘man they’re removing it from the base model?’ Should’ve been called standard instead (yes this is a dumb complaint and yes I like about 90% of this I’m just nitpicking)
One of the better lineups I’ve seen, I’m actually really interested. Yeah Hood Outlaws is meh, but I’ve heard great things about Slay the Spire and I love 3D platformers yet never got around to Battle for Bikini Bottom. Y’all need to stop expect 5 triple AAA juggernauts every month.
With the reports crunch and feature creep, along with this massive collectathon trophy list, I’m kinda worried this game is gonna be to big for itself. On the other hand reviews come out relatively soon, so I’m not gonna lose sleep over this.
I don’t like the way ArcSys and Nexon are marketing this game, but the last beta was really fun minus the weird mobility. If I have the time between school and Testament DLC I’ll try out the new beta.
I’m the “I really want Returnal to a degree similar to most 1st party Sony games but I’m still being stubborn and holding out til like 2023-4 for a PS5 so the price of games will be lower, but when I do get one it’ll definitely be one of the games I get with it” guy.
Yknow if they just isolate the live service sector of PlayStation in Bungie and Haven then I’m honestly down. That’s def not gonna happen but I can pretend to be optimistic.

@Obbie169 Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is coming out on the Capcom Fighting Collection in June if you want your fix

Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for PS5, PS4 in April 2022 Do You Want?
I’m not gonna be one of those people who wants or expects stuff like Horizon Forbidden West to be the lineup.
My desired lineup would be Dreams, Transistor, and 13 Sentinels (I already have it but I want more to play it).
I’m expecting something along the lines of Dark Souls Remastered, Patapon 2, and Crash 4 as the big highlight (but even that feels a bit generous).
