Crazy long cross-gen length, high console and game prices, stock shortages, a slow down in 1st party output, many people moving to PC, this is hardly a surprise when all is said and done.
@riceNpea haha after seeing that character I was gonna say something about monkey magic but didn’t think many here would be old enough 🤣 loved that show!
I still have some c&vg’s, n64 and other mags lying around. I’ve tried to throw them away many times but can never seem to be able to force myself to do it 😂
Bungie must be one of the worst buys ever in gaming. Still can’t believe what Sony paid for them but I hope they right the ship and make me change my opinion!
This and helldivers show the high risks Sony is taking with their live service approach. The rewards and failures are extreme but the latter is much more common.
That will be the day consumers lose out once again. There will be no retailer competition and therefore price wars between them plus we’ll lose the option to resell and recoup some of the investment if we want to.
Yes digital obviously has some benefits but it mostly is beneficial to the company’s selling the goods.
@Stonecold you do need to parry or dodge and I’m one that’s not great in games where you need to parry a lot. However I just mostly use the dodge button (circle) and have had a blast playing it fine.
There are upgrades to make both of these easier too.
Having said that I realise your comment is old so no doubt you’ve already played it and found out yourself by now!
Maybe they’ve realised they have their work cut out to keep up with MS who now own so many studios. Highlighted possibly by their strong showcase last week.
Putting resources towards PS5 is probably a safer bet even if it sucks for those that bought into VR.
@get2sammyb for me the bigger levels in 64 beat the smaller ones in galaxy not to mention full 360 camera control in 64 and “proper” traditional Mario setting.
Also I doubt there will ever be a time in gaming again where the amazement of something like true 3D movement being felt for the first time will happen.
64 created the path for all to follow and even galaxy didn’t top it imo just because 64 was so revolutionary. I realise I have some super strong rose tinted glasses on though typing this! 🤣
It is likely unfair to base opinions on the full game via a 20 minute demo.
Stellar blade comes to mind. I wasn’t massively impressed after the demo but loved the full game.
Having said that I’d assume the dev team would want to show off the best of the game in a demo and that certainly doesn’t seemed to have happened with outlaws.
I played the gamecube game back in the day and it was fun as it was original for its time with interesting characters. This was long before ubisofts open world, tower climbing formula had taken shape.
I was definitely excited about a modern sequel however I doubt the original holds up these days very well even if I have my glasses on that are rose tinted.

Re: Rumour: Xbox's Indiana Jones Game Coming to PS5 in First Half 2025
Count me in assuming reviews are good. I’d be interested in Indy, forza and perfect dark if they jump ship.
Re: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS2) - Charming PS2 Platformer Can Still Steal Our Hearts
Love these old sly games but would love a new ps5 entry even more.
Re: Rumour: Xbox to Announce a 'Big' Game Coming to PS5 at Gamescom
Forza is the only series I miss from not having and Xbox after ori came to switch so I’d def take FH5!
Re: It Took PS5 Longer Than PS4 to Pass 4 Million Units Milestone in the UK, But There's Context
@rjejr damn brexit made me stub my toe earlier today 🤣

@riceNpea haha after seeing that character I was gonna say something about monkey magic but didn’t think many here would be old enough 🤣 loved that show!
Re: Movie Review: Borderlands - As Bland As the Brand It's Based On
@Mintie actually you’ve made me reconsider my post above. I love it when films are so shockingly bad! Find them quite enjoyable for that reason 🤣
Re: Movie Review: Borderlands - As Bland As the Brand It's Based On
The games never clicked with me so I’ll definitely be missing this one out.
Re: Helldivers 2's Next Stratagem Seemingly Revealed During Dev Livestream
@Mostik I’m not saying it’s true in this case but “leaks” have definitely become a marketing tactic and therefore often planned.
Re: The Order: 1886 Dev Ready at Dawn to Close After VR Stint
I was one of the few that rated the order. Loved the setting, graphics and the fact it didn’t feel bloated like many games these days.
Quality over quantity every time for me and this news is a shame. Reckon they could have done well for Sony if they’d bought them.
Re: Pour One Out for Iconic US Gaming Mag Game Informer
@PerpetualBoredom me too!
I still have some c&vg’s, n64 and other mags lying around. I’ve tried to throw them away many times but can never seem to be able to force myself to do it 😂
Re: Wreckfest 2 Plots a Crash Course with PS5
Sweet loved the first game. As much as they infuriated me I hope there’s more sofa races!
Re: Pour One Out for Iconic US Gaming Mag Game Informer
I used to love buying loads of gaming magazines just so I could soak up any new game tidbits and see new screenshots!
Re: Bungie Accused of Overselling Itself to Sony, Promising Success It Couldn't Deliver
@CutchuSlow exactly. Sony could have spent a fraction of the bungie money to nurture those studios plus many more like tango and whoever.
Re: Bungie Accused of Overselling Itself to Sony, Promising Success It Couldn't Deliver
Yep in this instance Pachter was spot on…
Most of us agreed at the time Sony massively overpaid and that price only looks worse in 2024.
Re: Bungie to Lay Off 220 Workers, Will Be Further Integrated into Sony
@PuppetMaster totally agree it was a shocking purchase but at least Sony got a bargain with insomniac so it evens out slightly!
Re: Bungie to Lay Off 220 Workers, Will Be Further Integrated into Sony
@Lonejester yeah like the rest of the world aren’t enduring economic conditions!
Re: Sony to Establish Brand New PS Studios Team for PS5 Sci-Fi Action Game
Bungie must be one of the worst buys ever in gaming. Still can’t believe what Sony paid for them but I hope they right the ship and make me change my opinion!
Re: Poll: Is the Astro Bot PS5 Controller the Best DualSense Yet?
I mean I love the look of the game but are people just getting carried away here thinking anything associated with it is the best?
Personally think many of the other controllers look better.
Re: Stellar Blade DLC Given the Green Light, New Evidence Suggests
DLC or sequel I’m down for both!
Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers
@Gaia093 I’m pretty sure shopto.net deliver internationally if you’re interested in importing?

Re: Huge Gran Turismo 7 Update Coming 25th July, Adds New Track and Cars
I must get round to unwrapping my copy, just need more time!
Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?
Stellar blade also for me though I’ve not got round to rebirth yet and thousand year door also deserves a mention!
Re: PlayStation Returns as TGS Exhibitor for the First Time Since 2019
Glad they’re back but is a shame they’ve shied away from shows in recent years.
If they committed to E3 maybe that’d still be a thing.
Re: Huge PS5, PS4 Games Hit Their Lowest Ever Prices for the Weekend Only
@Northern_munkey yeah Star Wars has been around £25 on Amazon for at least a year.
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Most Anticipated PS5 Game for the Second Half of 2024?
Lots for me - Astro, Zelda, wukong, flintlock, Mario+luigi, heist 2 and maybe even AC shadows to name a few!
Re: Assassin's Creed Remakes Are on the Way, Ubisoft Confirms
Feels more like Assassins Greed these days.

Re: PS5 Fan Favourite Stellar Blade Sold Over 1 Million Copies, Dev Estimates
This was a rare day 1 for me. A sequal would be a day 1 too, loved it!
Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?
Yeah time is too precious these days to be stressing over game progress. I’d rather just have fun with a game.
Having said that there are some I’ve stuck with which were just too good like bloodborne and ninja gaiden.
Re: Stellar Blade (PS5) - A Stellar PS5 Debut Destined to Become a Fan Favourite
@Stonecold you do need to parry or dodge and I’m one that’s not great in games where you need to parry a lot. However I just mostly use the dodge button (circle) and have had a blast playing it fine.

Re: Ex-Sony Boss Shawn Layden Explains How to Make Games Faster, Cheaper
Bring Layden back he knows what he’s talking about!
Games don’t need to be longer they just need to be quality.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest and Its Surrounding Shows as a Whole?
@Llamada Nintendo haven’t had their show yet though.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest and Its Surrounding Shows as a Whole?
The Xbox show felt like an E3 presser to me and was excellent though it totally had to be considering they bought half the industry!
Re: Hidetaka Miyazaki 'Knows for a Fact' FromSoftware Devs Want a Bloodborne PC Port
Bloodborne PC port? Nah bloodborne 2 is what we want!
Re: Preview: Astro Bot on PS5 Could Be the Best 3D Platformer This Side of Nintendo
@NoHope 🤣 I’ll see what I can do but I’m making no promises 🤣
Re: The Rest of 2024's PS5 Release Schedule Is Finally Filling Up, and It's Looking Good
I mean there 8 or so games on the PS side I’m interested in getting though probably 80 in my backlog so maybe I shouldn’t!
If only I had the time…

Re: Preview: Astro Bot on PS5 Could Be the Best 3D Platformer This Side of Nintendo
@NoHope no it is fact no platformer beats 64 and that’s official 🤣
Re: Preview: Astro Bot on PS5 Could Be the Best 3D Platformer This Side of Nintendo
Looks superb and yes heavily influenced by Nintendo. They even have Mario-esque green hills!
Whatever I’m day 1 on this one 😁
Re: Ex-PS5 Exec Shawn Layden Isn't Holding Back His Feelings on Xbox
@SLRC98 yeah I miss Shawn. PS was a better place with him in it. Same as Andrew castle.
