I find it annoying how studios just focus on single franchises for so long.

Why not mix it up? Make TLoU then an uncharted, then a new IP, then another TLoU 10 years later. That way gamers will be well up for it by the time a new installment comes around. Instead I just get bored.

This is so common and sets in franchise fatigue, at least for me. We need variety not rinsed out franchises for 10 years. If I had to guess, I’d bet even the devs don’t like it this way.

Nintendo are the same - splatoon 1, 2, 3 and now probably 4. How about a new wave race or something within that release schedule to mix it up and give fans of other games/genres something?

They had reveals at all of them in the same year for a number of years at least.

Is weird to think back in the PS4 (or was it PS3?) era we used to get three events a year with PSX, gamescom and E3.

Now they can barely give us one showcase!

Cool would love a sequel especially if they fine tuned the character controls a bit. Eve moves a bit janky as it is.

No doubt this will be a massive boost for new gamepass subscribers but will it be enough to cancel out the losses of lower unit sales?

I imagine they’ll have to increase the GP subscription or create a new CoD tier!

Another concerning option is they design the game to be heavier on micro transactions to try and claw money back that way.

Stellar blade for me also. Haven’t had much time but have just done the solar tower in the wasteland and keen to explore more if I can!

@Grumblevolcano you’re absolutely correct but this isn’t unique to the gaming industry. Your description applies to all corporations and company’s with investors. It’s all about money, people are just numbers.

MS have a long history of 180’s on previous decisions so it wouldn’t surprise me if it left gamepass.

Hopefully he means we’ll get more games as opposed to people being laid off.

Having said that maybe that’s why there lots of studio closures atm?

It’s not so much about the potential onslaught of AC that bothers me, more the lack of creativity at Ubisoft these days.

It’s like when Michel Ancel left so did the company’s creative ideas. When he was still there we were getting games like child of light, rayman origins/legends etc.

@Stickleman funny you say that as I’ve literally just read on PS’s sister site, Nintendo have made more profit from the switch generation than their entire cumulative profit since 1981. Even accounting for inflation!
