Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

Dodoo

@Jimmer-jammer I think the big deal is there are people like me who were excited to upgrade at the right price, which in my opinion this isn’t.

I can afford it but won’t buy it due to not seeing the value in it at that price. Therefore it’s disappointing as I was otherwise expecting to upgrade.

Re: PS5 Pro Announced, Costs $700 and Out in November

@TheOldHunter4K no you’re right adding the ps5 at 450 as it came with a drive as did all the previous consoles so is “like-for-like.” In fact you should edit the ps5 pro to 800 considering that’s the price for the drive version!

Re: Sony Increases PS5 Controller Prices in US, Europe, and More

Due to governments consistently printing more money (quantitative easing) the value of our £/€/$ decreases (inflation) and is worth less. For example the USD has lost 86% value over the last 50 years.

Is not so much prices going up rather than you need more money to purchase something. The effect is the same though.

Sadly this is being felt more since covid, however there seems to be many companies taking opportune moments to increase prices for no reason, citing the above as the reason.

Re: PS5, PC FPS Concord's Poor Player Numbers Have Predictably Gone Viral

Dodoo

@get2sammyb probably because Killzone, resistance etc all had solid SP campaigns included with them. As far as I know concord doesn’t.

On topic I have to agree the character design is not good here. It’s what I’d expect the result to be if I asked AI to design me a 5v5 gaas shooter. Generic, tick all boxes design.

I don’t like to see games do badly when countless people have devoted their working lives creating something but with Sony complaining about profitability, surely super risky punts in live service games isn’t a good shout. They’d be better off going to the casino and putting the money on red at the roulette table.
