I completely agree, while Elden Ring is awesome and truly one of a kind experience I just had waaaaay more fun playing Ragnarök to the point I’m thinking about getting the platinum for the PS4 version (I already got it for PS5) and I don’t plan to replay Elden Ring probably ever lol.
Last night I wanted to revisit the game to finish all the quests left after getting the platinum and holy *****, I got soooo bored I don’t think I’ll ever be able to 100% complete it, the same thing happened with Zero Dawn but I find the main story and side-quests to be much more engaging than Forbidden West’s.
In contrast to Ragnarök where I’m already thinking about getting a second platinum from the PS4 version of the game lol
@sjbsixpack They haven’t said ANYTHING about a new IP, in fact, the latest rumor is that they’re in full development for TLOU Part 3, so we’ll not see a new IP from Naughty Dog until the end of the generation or until PS6 which would mean going TWO GENERATIONS without a new IP from Naughty Dog…
Glad to see the vast majority agreeing that an unnecessary remake isn’t even worth to be in the discussion for Game of the Year, imo it’s just taking the place of another NEW game with fresh ideas that could use the exposure instead of the same game for the third time…
@GuttyYZ Yup, it was probably my most disappointing experience from any game this year.
The first couple of hours I was very excited and really getting “Dead Space is back” feelings, but oh boy, just about half the main story it fell completely flat, it started to become just more and more of the same stuff and combat didn’t evolve almost at all so it kept being more frustrating each time, and I seriously can’t believe how unplayable it is when there’s more than 2 enemies on screen, it’s also beyond disappointing there were only 2 bosses in the entire game and both were underwhelming to say the least.
This has been one of those games which I finish purely out of rage, I went from “I can’t believe we’re finally getting something like Dead Space” to “get this garbage out of my sight and just give me the remake”, already sold it and impatiently waiting for the remake to heal my disappointment.
@themightyant He already said it’s a working title so it won’t be called Death Stranding 2 or DS2, my guess is that it will keep the “Stranding” with another word attached to it, so maybe ‘Life Stranding’? Lol
@AdamNovice Because people are apparently under the false notion that they own a franchise and therefore no one should ever be allowed to touch their beloved franchise without asking every fan first.
I’m really split on the game, I really enjoyed the traversal and the combat once you get the hang of it, also the Dualsense just shines in this game, probably the best use for the controller so far after Returnal.
However, dialogue is ATROCIOUS, controls are really weird and the tutorial for them is not great either, the world does feel empty and somewhat broken (I fell from the bridge and had to walk all the way to the end to get back up), and the UI is TERRIBLE, if you thought FFXV had a messy UI this is miles worse.
@JSnow2 Lol why are you celebrating? The FTC has lost every single case they’ve taken to court, the worst it could happen is that Microsoft will be forced to make concessions (which they’ve already shown they’re happy to do so), but the deal will end up being approved.
@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah sure, you now despise Sony after stating in multiple comments that the world is better off with Sony being the gaming industry leader, sure…
And yes, I’m both aware and mad that MS has followed the trend of raising game prices, but who started the trend that every major publisher has now followed? Of course if Sony wouldn’t have raised prices others wouldn’t have followed and if they weren’t the unchallenged market leader they wouldn’t have done it in the first place, you see now why competition is always important?
@thefourfoldroot1 So your whole argument is that Microsoft is bad because they have more money and can buy everything they want? Dude, I'm sorry but you're just a really small-minded fanboy.
Yes, Microsoft has a ridiculous amount of money, but do you really think they can buy absolutely everything? Of course not. Look at the scrutiny that this deal already has, if it's approved indeed I bet that MS will not be able to buy any other big publisher.
You act as if Sony were just a startup instead of a global corporation who even after the acquisition closes will still be the market leader and have more revenue in the gaming industry, they have all the means to truly compete even if consoles disappear in the next decade, but again, as another user pointed out, you don't want to see competition nor even open to the idea of there being a market leader other than Sony, you want Sony to be the market leader no matter what even if they're already abusing their position raising prices for hardware and software.
I get that we really like Sony's games, no matter what I'll always get a PlayStation to play their banger exclusives, but you're just being toxic with all of this, at least try to understand that MORE COMPETITION IS ALWAYS BEST.
@thefourfoldroot1 Again, it’s not meaningless in the slightest as @BAMozzy has explained at length, but if you want to repeat the same thing over and over again you’re free to do so.
10 years ago we heard the same things, that the consoles were dying, that the PS4 would be the last generation, and here we are with consoles being more popular than ever and Sony, Nintendo and Xbox doing better than a decade ago.
@BAMozzy Couldn’t have said it better, I really don’t know why some people are getting so salty about this, like dude, you’ll still be able to get your COD the same way you’ve been getting it the last decade, the fact that some people will eventually be able to play it on Game Pass shouldn’t even matter to the ones that will keep playing it on PlayStation, but here we are…
@thefourfoldroot1 Again, WHY would they do that? Is any recent Call of Duty available right now in PS+ Extra? No. In fact Activision has said it themselves, they currently don’t like putting their games on any sub, and the only way that their games get on a service on day one is that the MS acquisition is closed.
And no, it’s absolutely not “meaningless” because the truth of it is that people won’t change platforms for just a single title that they can still be able to buy as they’ve been doing in the last decade, the thought that every PS5 user will sell their console to buy a Series X because they got CoD on Game Pass is nothing more than a falacy.
Sure, it might sway some consumers the same way Sony has been swaying them with marketing and exclusive content, answer me this, why is it fair when Sony has some advantages but it’s absolutely unacceptable if MS has some kind of advantage having it on Game Pass?
@thefourfoldroot1 Are you seriously demanding MS to not only launch their game in the competition’s platform but also in their service when not even Sony launch their own games in PS+!? Then Sony should release God of War in Game Pass am I right?
I’m sorry that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read…
@daveofduncan That’s because there’s no such a thing as a “perpetual contract” between companies, that’s just not how things work at ANY business, at the end of the 10 years both companies will sit together and discuss how to renew the contract.
I really don’t get why some of you guys are so salty about this, Sony has been buying exclusives (albeit not full publishers) for years now and every single time we’ve cherished it, now comes the time when MS is making their own moves and it’ll greatly benefit their users while not affecting PS users as CoD will remain for many years or even forever, this reminds me to all the people absolutely betting on Minecraft being exclusive to Microsoft platforms and it just didn’t happen, they’ve been true to their word even launching it on new platforms without an actual contract forcing them to do so.
Just let competition play out, at least with heavy competition Sony can’t get away with raising prices in everything as they’ve been doing lately.
@xx_PharsydeChemist_x Stop it, that was a fake rumor that everyone is now spreading as an absolute truth when the acquisition drama HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MARKETING FOR BOTH COMPANIES.
Microsoft had a big event in June almost 6 months after the acquisition was announced, Activision has had plenty of events mainly to promote MW2, and Sony has had several States of Play even if they didn’t have a big Showcase this year.
Also it didn’t stop Sony for raising the price of the PS5 in every region except the US and then trying to use the argument that MS could raise console prices if they become the market leader after closing the acquisition… (which is hypocritical to say the least).
I reckon both companies will have presence at TGA in some form, obviously not a big blowout but most likely a teaser or gameplay of a game we already know about.
@Anke I think Vanaheim is the most boring as it’s too much of the same stuff, there’re 3 regions there which are very confusing and you have to do the same favor over and over again of talking to an NPC, search for an object, talk to the NPC again and repeat. I think I spent more than 10 hours on Vanaheim alone and it was just tedious.
Just block it or approve it and get done with this, at this point I’m just tired of hearing about this every single week with fanboys on both sides being at each other’s throats.
Wow this is amazing and fully deserved as the game is honestly the best PlayStation game I’ve ever played as 2018 was also, this also means God of War is already the most valuable franchise in Sony’s portfolio even more than Spider-Man!
And it’s not even the worst of it, ACTIVITY CARDS ALSO SPOILS THE GAME, I just saw certain character in certain realm and I’m now beyond mad, I‘ve literally been playing nonstop since Wednesday, poured 25 hours into the game but just as I was closing the game an activity card popped up spoiling a key point in the story, I didn’t even scroll through the menus or anything, it just popped up right at the beginning, f***ing outrageous.
What is going on with all the latest collectors editions?
Horizon Forbidden West was a mess, TLOU Part 1 was a disaster, and this is just unacceptable, it’s already disappointing that the game doesn’t come in a disc but imagine how enraging it is to not even get the game at all…
@UltimateOtaku91 Well the demand for the Switch has only just began to drop now almost 6 years after launch, so again, it’s gonna be a loooong while to have a price drop for PS5.
It’ll not be $50, this is going to be the exact same as the console bundle with Forbidden West, it costs $50 more with the bundle yet the retail price of the game is $70.
Not surprised, I even gave the Deluxe tier a chance and it’s just underwhelming, yeah I’ve played a couple of games but I’m just not interested in any of the new additions as mostly are old Ubisoft games that can be found dirty cheap.
Once it ends I’m definitely not going to renew it.
I’m replaying it again right now and I’m just reaffirming it’s absolutely the best PlayStation game I’ve ever played, everything about the game just works incredibly while still looking better than 95% of games out there, can’t f…ing wait for Ragnarök!
And yet they bargain away their western studios with some historic IPs, refuse to do native ports of Kingdom Hearts (and many other franchises) to the Switch while also refusing to get most of their AAA games to any console other than PlayStation, the ‘global market’ certainly doesn’t seem to be a priority right now…
I actually want to give it a shot but for me it makes no sense to buy it right now, currently I’m playing A Plague Tale Requiem, then I’m gonna play again God of War 2018 and just continue on with Ragnarok and by the time I finish it we’ll already be around Black Friday and most likely it’s gonna drop to $40 bucks or less.
As a bonus maybe by that time they’ll have solved some of the performance issues (which are not few) and overall it’s gonna be a better experience without spending $70.
@Grumblevolcano I really don’t think the showcase was “cancelled” or delayed, it just never existed in the first place, Sony just doesn’t seem interested in communicating with big blowout events anymore.
Calling it right now, Elle is Louise (you know who she is if you finished the game) and it will take place many years after the ending of the first game.
@BeerIsAwesome I don’t think it has anything to do with perception, Sony has been anti-consumer lately and people are mad at them, just as MS was very anti-consumer back with the Xbox One launch and people were mad at them, as simple as that.
Also you said you weren’t trying to excuse this BS but you just tried to, Sony’s support is very lackluster and it just became worse for people who don’t meet the requirements for level 4 of PS Stars, they’re basically offering a benefit to the detriment of the majority…
The lengths that some of you go trying to defend this company goes truly beyond my understanding, I love PlayStation games but I’m not blind to their questionable decisions as of late.
@BeerIsAwesome Nah, MS doesn’t get a free pass at all, they haven’t been criticized as of lately because they just haven’t made any anti-consumer move recently, do you think they got a free pass when they announced the Xbox One with all its DRM restrictions? Of course not, it cost them a generation. Btw, the Live Gold price increase was not a PR stunt as you suggest as $120 cards were already printed and on retail ready to sell (I have no idea who tf thought that was a good idea).
If people have been more harsh towards Sony is because they just keep making bad moves to customers again and again, non-stop since Jim Ryan became CEO, as simple as that.
@Shepherd_Tallon Uh which list are you looking at? Because from PS Studios we only know about Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine so far, I know there are plenty of other games as Forspoken or FFXVI which will be exclusive for PS5, but there’s clearly a lack of first-party games after Ragnarok.
It’s actually surprising that Microsoft/Bethesda introduced new features to the game that are exclusive to the PS5, hopefully they’ll soon adopt technologies like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and gyro aiming so developers have even more incentives to use these features in their games and it becomes the standard, the DualSense really is much more than a gimmick.

Because from PS Studios we only know about Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine so far, I know there are plenty of other games as Forspoken or FFXVI which will be exclusive for PS5, but there’s clearly a lack of first-party games after Ragnarok.
Re: Deathloop May Be Multiformat, But New Controls Make It Best on PS5
It’s actually surprising that Microsoft/Bethesda introduced new features to the game that are exclusive to the PS5, hopefully they’ll soon adopt technologies like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and gyro aiming so developers have even more incentives to use these features in their games and it becomes the standard, the DualSense really is much more than a gimmick.
