@WhiteRabbit @PuppetMaster Yes, yes, I knew that was going to come up, Sony did a great job having third-party exclusives for this year, no one, absolutely no one is saying that PS5 has no games.

You’re all over-defensive for Sony, I’m not saying they don’t have any games coming ever, I’m saying that for the most part this generation they’ve done a very poor job at communicating, many studios have been noticeably absent since 2021’s Showcase and just comparing the latest State of Play to either the Xbox showcase or Nintendo Direct it’s shameful, after Astro Bot there’s nothing to be really excited about.

The good thing is they can easily shut me up with having a great showcase after Astro Bot releases and I really hope there’s one this year, if not I’m going to continue to be even more baffled by Sony’s (lack of) communication.

What a sad summer to be a PlayStation fan, both Xbox and Nintendo had amazing presentations while Sony… well, has Astro Bot.

Not gonna watch any leak, but it’s baffling that with all the stuff already out there they haven’t made any announcement whatsoever, we know -a game- is coming next year before Wolverine, if there’s no showcase this year with that announcement I truly don’t understand Sony’s communication.

@AdamNovice I think it’s quite irresponsible to claim and actually expect that everything from Xbox will come over, if something is clear is that nobody knows for sure, specially those pseudo-journalists who apparently come up with a daily rumor to see what sticks.

Lmao at the people trying to downplay Ubisoft, they literally have a better lineup than Sony for the rest of the year, SW Outlaws and AC Shadows both look awesome tbh.

Come on stop being so bitter! The Xbox showcase was GREAT, probably their best one ever and it’s been years since PlayStation has had a Showcase that good, I’d argue since the PS5 reveal.

What is weird is that they didn’t make a PS4 version considering it’s possible since it’s on Switch and there’s still 49M people still actively playing on PS4.

And also I know Xbox isn’t a big of an audience but still a port would’ve expanded its audience at least a bit.

Don’t expect anything from Doritos’ event other than celebrities and ads.

@Orpheus79V Yeah it’s silly, and when you couple it with remakes and remasters plus a mid-looking live service game you got a bad event only saved by Astro Bot imo.

@WolfyTn I’m with you but expecting Wolverine, GTA 6 or TLOU 3 out of a State of Play is an unreasonable expectation.

I’m honestly as excited for Astro Bot as I would be for a blockbuster from PS Studios, the rest however was forgettable at best.

@Azex Yup, I was only expecting to care about Astro Bot and that’s exactly what it happened lol, something I’ve learned this gen is to always have zero expectations for States of Play, however I didn’t expect Concord to look this generic/insignificant.

If it wasn’t for Astro Bot this would’ve been Poor or Very Poor, but it quite literally saved the show for me, tbh it makes me as excited as I’d be for a blockbuster such as GoW or Spider-Man.

@UltimateOtaku91 Honestly I think we just shouldn’t expect a Showcase for September, the usual clickbait journalists will claim every week a showcase is coming (just like this month) only to back off the last week saying that Sony “changed plans” and we get a State of Play instead, there’s always a Sony event on September but after 3 years waiting I’d rather set my expectations low.

Not gonna lie, I’m disappointed it’s not a showcase but last year’s “showcase” was nothing more than a disguised State of Play so I’m willing to give it a chance (Astro Bot please!).

However, the wait for a big event continues as we’ve gone almost 3 years (since September 2021) without a proper showcase or conference like we used to have.

What a toxic community of blind-sided fanboys this has become, honestly I hope that MS strategy works out so that Xbox can become more competitive and therefore PlayStation be more competitive too.

As I said before, when we are actually close to a showcase or state of play there’re plenty of rumblings around it but so far we’ve heard absolutely nothing, if there’s a showcase this year it’ll be until September or none at all.

I’m starting to think there might not be a showcase until late September (as in 2020 and 2021), usually when we’re close to any event there’s plenty of rumblings about it but I’ve seen nothing so far, only the usual clickbait “journalists” like Grubb that every week claims that something is gonna happen only to be wrong and say he wasn’t.

After one year I can confidently say last year’s showcase was the worst event Sony has put together since the infamous E3 2006 disaster, next one should be an absolute blast to make up for it.

However the showcase last year was held at the same time as their business meeting and so far there’s nothing, if Sony goes all summer without a showcase I’m gonna be extremely disappointed (again).

@themightyant It’d have been during the PS3 and maybe PS4 era, otherwise right now they’d have likely had the same fate as Japan Studios, which still hurts tbh.

@somnambulance Exactly my thoughts too, it felt very basic and repetitive, it’s just drop, kill bugs, activate one or two things, kill more bugs, extraction and repeat, by playing you only unlock higher difficulties and better weapons/‘stratagems’ but the gameplay loop remains essentially the same, I sold it when I realized that is all there’s for it, I certainly don’t understand why this game stood out for people.

I think no one is able to fully understand what happened and imo Aerith’s death shouldn’t have been handled as ambiguous as it was.
I didn’t play the OG FF7 so I honestly don’t have that nostalgia goggles but I still knew what was gonna happen, and after actually thinking my answer for a few minutes I can’t say other than disappointingly convoluted.

And don’t get me wrong, all up until Chapter 14 it was a 10/10 game for me but the ending just didn’t cut it, it’s unclear and convoluted and it heavily takes away any emotional impact of THAT moment.

I remember throughout the end of Chapter 13 and beginning of 14 I was nervous af anticipating THAT moment, when it finally happens you parry Sephiroth and you seemingly save Aerith, then multiversal ***** happens and turns out she’s dead, but wait not really, but wait again she actually is (?), like I just don’t understand what happened and I couldn’t experience any emotion, it left me incredibly confused when I should’ve been devastated.

Good, this will end this brutal 48 hours but the damage is done, I doubt all those people who review-bombed are going to change their review, the team at Arrowhead probably had some of the worst days of their life plus I’m sure every single PlayStation launch on PC is now going to be heavily scrutinized and whatever little thing comes up will be blown out of proportion.

@get2sammyb Completely agree, like this is literally the worst way they could’ve handled it, not even an answer, notice or anything, there’s now people in those countries who bought and played the game but now are unable to access it, Steam will of course give them a refund but the stain is already there.

All of this does beg the question, if the requirement was going to be so heavily enforced why the heck the game was available in those countries for 3 months? Was it really that hard to make the exception for the people who would already be willing to create an account but can’t?

This is Sony burning bridges with the PC community and everyone claiming “respect” for Sony should remember that it’s a key market for growth and overall long-term stability for PlayStation, this ain’t good for anyone.

Goddamn it Sony, I didn't see a problem in enforcing the requirement that was disclosed from the start but their answer/reaction to this is definitely creating a bigger problem than it is.

This is being extremely overreacted imo, apparently Sony’s biggest and ‘unforgivable’ mistake was letting players play without a PSN account temporarily as it was ALWAYS disclosed it was required as with every single live-service game available, I bet mere days ago some PS5 users had to create a Microsoft account just to play Sea of Thieves and no one review-bombed the game for that.

The only justified complaint for me is the requirement for countries where PSN isn’t available, and the justification being “security” when we all know is about active users metrics, does that justify this outrage and stop playing or even refund a game you’ve legitimately enjoyed for dozens of hours? I personally don’t think so…

Until something is officially announced I really don’t see the point in posting at least a weekly story about some “insider” taking a guess at which game Microsoft is going to port next, because that’s all there is currently, guesses and speculation.

For $25 I honestly don’t think so, I’d even argue The Rising Tide should’ve been included in the base game (as it only adds 3 hours of main content and should’ve had more importance in the main story) and Echoes of the Fallen was just completely unnecessary and only the Omega boss battle is worth it, I loved the game but honestly regret grabbing the DLC.

Same thing happened with Spider-Man and TLOU Part 2 before the remaster was announced so this pretty much confirms the Zero Dawn remaster that was rumored a while back.

And tbh, this is yet another unnecessary remaster.

To think we’ve gone since 2021 without a proper PlayStation Showcase…

I’m not gonna lie, I enjoyed the show more than any game and it’s kinda tempting me into giving Fallout 76 another chance.

I lasted ONE match in this game, it’s not gonna get to a year without being shut down.

Good riddance, the console sales is the only metric he can be proud of, behind the scenes it’s no secret he’s a leaving a mess with a failed live-service strategy, failed investments (Bungie), axing studios, and for the first time in almost two decades with no first-party game in the horizon for over 18 months, partnerships for FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Helldivers and more are saving PS5’s ass right now, otherwise it’d be barren of games, also Microsoft giving up on competition is certainly helping them.

This is much worse that you think.

You’d assume that you have access to all content right away since you bought the game, nope, you have to grind dozens of hours to be level 35 just to be able to get this character and beat this season’s boss, oh and the progress from the main game doesn’t count so you start at level 0.
But of course if you don’t want to grind all that you can just buy it because who wouldn’t want to spend even more in this $70 game…

This game is making Avengers look like a masterpiece.

Hint: Just realized the second run is somewhat different from the first plus it has some new content (without spoiling anything), this game is truly amazing!

Now it’ll have to wait till I finish FF7 Rebirth!

@get2sammyb Don’t bother, it’s just a very bad game with no redeemable qualities imo, having played both Suicide Squad is a much much better game, which itself is pretty telling on how terrible Gotham Knights is.
