Re: US Children Want Subscriptions and Currencies for Christmas, Not Games

ItsBritneyB_tch

I did laugh reading some of these doomsday comments. It’s like when old people say, ‘back in my day…’. ‘Back in my day we had to queue outside Asda for 4 hours to pick up a physical copy of GTA’ lol

Live service games and SP games can coexist. It’s not the end of the world. Physical media is in decline but times change. I’ve never discouraged my Nephews from spending Birthday/Christmas money on Fortnite. I can see how much enjoyment they get out of the game so it isn’t a ‘waste’ in my eyes. No more a waste than a PS5 disc collecting dust on a shelf in 10 years time.

The later levels of Crash 4 were ‘extreme difficultly’ or something. I almost gave up, it was so frustrating. The early levels are fun though.

Astro’s Playroom is one of my favourite games ever and we’ll deserving of top spot.

I think Fortnite should be higher though.

I get what they were trying to do but it didn’t feel fair to Miles for him to take on all that responsibility alone (even if he is capable).

Pete more than anyone knows how difficult it is to juggle his real life and his superhero life. It felt a bit selfish for him to just ‘take a break’ - even if he had earned one.

Having two Spider-men sharing the job/responsibility made more sense because it would give each of them more time to focus on their personal lives.

Can’t wait for the update and I don’t mind spending money on the expansion. I’ve played over 400 hours of this game so far for £45, which is way more value than spending £45 on something like Alan Wake 2, which can be platinumed in 15-25 hours.

A few people are complaining about having to pay for the expansion because they bought the base foundation pack for early access. But the Forgotten Storyline is completed. The expansion is a brand new map (same size as the original map) with new characters and story. That £18 ($22) isn’t going to fund the game indefinitely. That’s why we’re getting paid expansions.

Paid expansions twice a year is far better than making the game F2P and being charged for every character separately.

Got the platinum for AC Mirage yesterday and really enjoyed the game. I missed the classic/stealthy gameplay. Hope we get more games in this style.

Had to buy a new Dualsense this week because I had stick drift and it was driving me mad. Now I can get properly stuck into Spider-Man 2 without constantly fighting the camera.

@The_ghostmen if you collect the blue chests that spawn every day you can make 1,500 moonstones every month. If you take part in the weekly DreamSnaps, you can earn an additional minimum of 300 Moonstones every week (the lowest amount I’ve received is 1,200 moonstones but I average 1,500-4,000 moonstones every week). The game is very generous with in-game currency if you put the effort in. I’ve purchased nearly all premium shop items and I haven’t spent a penny.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Alan Wake 2?

@Bentleyma people tend to root for the underdog. Spider-Man 2 was highly anticipated by nearly everyone (going to sell millions) so it works against it. Alan Wake 2 is largely overlooked (going to underperform) so it works for it.

I’ve only played an hour or so but in the opening battle where you have to run through the building, dodging attacks, I managed to run through a wall and fell down inside/underneath the game. Luckily a restart put me back to the last checkpoint.

Then this afternoon my Nephew called and said he’s lost hours of progress because his game glitched (character swinging through buildings and falling through the floor) so he rebooted the game and it’s put him back to where he was last night. His last auto save was midnight, so all the side content he completed today is lost. Make sure you manual save often!

I’m a bit shocked that a Sony first party studio has released a game with these kinds of issues. Especially one as high profile as Spider-Man 2. Sony games are usually polished to perfection. Hope they get a patch out asap - I’m a bit reluctant to play any more until these bugs have been ironed out.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Assassin's Creed Mirage?

ItsBritneyB_tch

I’m enjoying it so far. I thought the characters were cringe at the start until the early shocking reveal that begins Basim’s journey to becoming an Assassin.

I don’t think it’s radically different to the modern AC games though. Yes, it’s smaller scale (thank god) but it doesn’t feel like the old AC games either. It feels like a weird hybrid of the two.

I can’t rate it yet because I’ve only played a few hours but so far so good.

Re: Epic's V-Buck Price Hike Scheme Set to Expand Globally

ItsBritneyB_tch

It wouldn’t be so bad if the effort they put into Fortnite hadn’t fallen off a cliff in the last year or so. There’s no story anymore, there’s zero live events, the seasonal events are bare minimum.

Chapter 4 was the perfect opportunity for them to reboot the storyline but they did nothing for four seasons.

The gameplay is still fun (map changes are great too) but without a storyline, the seasons all blend into one another and it ends up feeling repetitive and stale. And now they say they’re putting even less effort into live events.

I’m still a fan of Fortnite but t’s so frustrating to see this game coasting along on autopilot. Whoever is running the show over at Epic Games isn’t doing a very good job.
