@doctommaso I bought my Nephew a TV last year for him to watch Oscar winning movies and Emmy award winning shows. Then I found out he was watching YouTube videos and I disowned him. I alone decide what he enjoys and makes him happy.
I did laugh reading some of these doomsday comments. It’s like when old people say, ‘back in my day…’. ‘Back in my day we had to queue outside Asda for 4 hours to pick up a physical copy of GTA’ lol
Live service games and SP games can coexist. It’s not the end of the world. Physical media is in decline but times change. I’ve never discouraged my Nephews from spending Birthday/Christmas money on Fortnite. I can see how much enjoyment they get out of the game so it isn’t a ‘waste’ in my eyes. No more a waste than a PS5 disc collecting dust on a shelf in 10 years time.
Not buying a slim (it’s somehow even uglier than the OG PS5). But if they release a Pro model and hire better designers, I’ll most likely upgrade if the benefits are worthwhile.
GOW2018 was great but it felt like an entrée, whereas GOWR felt like the main course. It delivered in every way and even surpassed my expectations. It’s one of Sony’s best games for sure.
Rockstar games always look like they’re a generation behind so it’s a real possibility imo. If it looks like a PS4 game, there’s a good chance it will be released on PS4.
Easily Spider-Man 2 for me (but I haven’t played any of the others 🤪).
I really loved the pacing in SM2 - the slow build-up to the explosive final. It was a satisfying ending that left me wanting more. And the wing suit really improved the traversal a lot.
I get what they were trying to do but it didn’t feel fair to Miles for him to take on all that responsibility alone (even if he is capable).
Pete more than anyone knows how difficult it is to juggle his real life and his superhero life. It felt a bit selfish for him to just ‘take a break’ - even if he had earned one.
Having two Spider-men sharing the job/responsibility made more sense because it would give each of them more time to focus on their personal lives.
Can’t wait for the update and I don’t mind spending money on the expansion. I’ve played over 400 hours of this game so far for £45, which is way more value than spending £45 on something like Alan Wake 2, which can be platinumed in 15-25 hours.
A few people are complaining about having to pay for the expansion because they bought the base foundation pack for early access. But the Forgotten Storyline is completed. The expansion is a brand new map (same size as the original map) with new characters and story. That £18 ($22) isn’t going to fund the game indefinitely. That’s why we’re getting paid expansions.
Paid expansions twice a year is far better than making the game F2P and being charged for every character separately.
Got the platinum for AC Mirage yesterday and really enjoyed the game. I missed the classic/stealthy gameplay. Hope we get more games in this style.
Had to buy a new Dualsense this week because I had stick drift and it was driving me mad. Now I can get properly stuck into Spider-Man 2 without constantly fighting the camera.
@The_ghostmen if you collect the blue chests that spawn every day you can make 1,500 moonstones every month. If you take part in the weekly DreamSnaps, you can earn an additional minimum of 300 Moonstones every week (the lowest amount I’ve received is 1,200 moonstones but I average 1,500-4,000 moonstones every week). The game is very generous with in-game currency if you put the effort in. I’ve purchased nearly all premium shop items and I haven’t spent a penny.
I’ve played 400 hours so far and I don’t mind spending £25 on an expansion pack. Some people online are super mad about this but it feels a little entitled to me. How do they expect the dev to make money? They aren’t making this game out of the goodness of their hearts.
@Bentleyma people tend to root for the underdog. Spider-Man 2 was highly anticipated by nearly everyone (going to sell millions) so it works against it. Alan Wake 2 is largely overlooked (going to underperform) so it works for it.
Glad to hear it’s good but I can wait for a heavy discount or a physical release. I feel like there’s very little buzz around this game (outside of gaming websites like this) so the price will probably plummet in a few months.
I’ll play it when it gets a physical release but I could take or leave it really. I only played the first game last year and didn’t think it was that great tbh.
I’ve had the falling through a wall (falling down under the gameworld) bug and the bug where you change suits and your character turns into a white cube.
My Nephew lost hours of progress because his game wasn’t autosaving.
Most of the bugs aren’t game breaking but it’s still surprising to see this many bugs/glitches in a Sony first party game.
@Falcon94 I like AC but the narrative (especially in the newer games) is so weak. They could give us a grittier, more realistic portrayal of humanity but they give us the completely sanitised version every time.
I’m quite surprised how many bugs and glitches there are (falling through walls/floor). I encountered a new one last night when changing suits and my character turned into a small white cube. Easily fixed with a restart but I don’t expect these kinds of issues from a Sony first party studio.
@Pusher2021 there’s no new game plus or mission replay yet. I read somewhere that it will be patched in later this year but the exact date isn’t confirmed yet.
I’ve only played an hour or so but in the opening battle where you have to run through the building, dodging attacks, I managed to run through a wall and fell down inside/underneath the game. Luckily a restart put me back to the last checkpoint.
Then this afternoon my Nephew called and said he’s lost hours of progress because his game glitched (character swinging through buildings and falling through the floor) so he rebooted the game and it’s put him back to where he was last night. His last auto save was midnight, so all the side content he completed today is lost. Make sure you manual save often!
I’m a bit shocked that a Sony first party studio has released a game with these kinds of issues. Especially one as high profile as Spider-Man 2. Sony games are usually polished to perfection. Hope they get a patch out asap - I’m a bit reluctant to play any more until these bugs have been ironed out.
I’m enjoying it so far. I thought the characters were cringe at the start until the early shocking reveal that begins Basim’s journey to becoming an Assassin.
I don’t think it’s radically different to the modern AC games though. Yes, it’s smaller scale (thank god) but it doesn’t feel like the old AC games either. It feels like a weird hybrid of the two.
I can’t rate it yet because I’ve only played a few hours but so far so good.
I had about 20 movies that I purchased on their old video app, which they abandoned. You can still watch the movies on PS5 but playback is awful (lots of buffering on fibre broadband) and random episodes are missing from tv shows. Not interested in this new app one bit.
@naruball yeah, I really hope they come back with something great but if the rumours that their next game is TLoU Pt3 are true, I couldn’t be less excited.
@Toot1st I don’t know but it’s sad to see this once great studio going through a rough patch. Hopefully they can bounce back like Insomniac did. I just never thought we’d see them in this position.
I feel like ND have really fallen from grace in the last few years. Only a single console generation ago they were Sony’s star player and now it feels like they’re lost. Remaking their own games and wasting time on Factions. I never would have believed they’d end up like this.
It wouldn’t be so bad if the effort they put into Fortnite hadn’t fallen off a cliff in the last year or so. There’s no story anymore, there’s zero live events, the seasonal events are bare minimum.
Chapter 4 was the perfect opportunity for them to reboot the storyline but they did nothing for four seasons.
The gameplay is still fun (map changes are great too) but without a storyline, the seasons all blend into one another and it ends up feeling repetitive and stale. And now they say they’re putting even less effort into live events.
I’m still a fan of Fortnite but t’s so frustrating to see this game coasting along on autopilot. Whoever is running the show over at Epic Games isn’t doing a very good job.

Can’t wait for this game. Can’t believe it’s nearly here 😁
Re: Solid Snake, Peter Griffin Dropping in Next Fortnite Season
I’m so glad the OG season was only a month long. I think what Fortnite evolved into pre-OG was so much better.
Re: Reaction: You Really Shouldn't Be Surprised Kids Want PS5, PS4 Game Currencies for Xmas
@doctommaso I bought my Nephew a TV last year for him to watch Oscar winning movies and Emmy award winning shows. Then I found out he was watching YouTube videos and I disowned him. I alone decide what he enjoys and makes him happy.
Sounds silly doesn’t it 😂

Re: US Children Want Subscriptions and Currencies for Christmas, Not Games
Yeah my Nephew has asked for a psn voucher so he can pre-order Suicide Squad deluxe edition. Oh and v-bucks for Fortnite.
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Announced, Has a Brand New Survival Mode, $10 Upgrade Path
Good for anyone who missed it the first time ‘round but I have no desire to revisit this.
I tried replaying the PS4 version after I completed TLoU PS5 Remake and it’s just not as good or enjoyable as the first game.
Re: Suicide Squad Returns with All-New PS5 Gameplay
I think it looks ok but I’m not super hyped for it. Maybe it will surprise me?
Re: Like All Modern Games, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Has a PS5 Season Pass
I will snap up everything this game has to offer. Love the Avatar movies.
Re: Poll: Are You Buying a PS5 'Slim'?
Not buying a slim (it’s somehow even uglier than the OG PS5). But if they release a Pro model and hire better designers, I’ll most likely upgrade if the benefits are worthwhile.
Re: Best Kids Games on PS5
The later levels of Crash 4 were ‘extreme difficultly’ or something. I almost gave up, it was so frustrating. The early levels are fun though.
Astro’s Playroom is one of my favourite games ever and we’ll deserving of top spot.
I think Fortnite should be higher though.

Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Glides to Number One on PS5
@Rioichi I didn’t find it overly woke. There was that one side mission and a mural painted on the side of building but that’s all I remember?
I was kinda hoping Pete and Harry would get together - that would have been so cute (sorry MJ) - but it never happened, sadly.

Easily Spider-Man 2 for me (but I haven’t played any of the others 🤪).

@3Above ah right, thanks 😊
Re: Twitter Integration to Be Removed from PS5, PS4 Next Week
I don’t use Twitter. What’s the reasoning behind this? Are they taking a stand against Elon Musk or is it something else?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
Spider-man 2 - easily the greatest superhero game ever made.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Alan Wake 2?
Haven’t voted (waiting for a physical release or a sale) but by most accounts, it’s very good.

It’s a marathon not a sprint 😋
Re: PS5, PS4's Most Played Games Probably Won't Surprise You
@gollumb82 I consider myself a ‘hardcore gamer’ but I also love Fortnite.
Re: PS5, PS4's Most Played Games Probably Won't Surprise You
@rjejr I heard they are keeping zero build (they’re adding zip lines so the map is easier to navigate). They are also keeping sprinting/mantling.

Fortnite is guaranteed the number 1 spot next month too, with them bringing back the Chapter 1 map next week.
I only started playing Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 4 so I can’t wait to play on the original map.

This skin is an odd addition because I don’t think the character is that popular. At least we’re getting Michael Myers and Jack Skellington too 😁

I need a new Dualsense (stick drift…) but with these lousy discounts, they might as well not bother. I’m sure they were £30 last year.
Re: PS5 Slim Officially Unveiled, Attachable Disc Drive, Launches November

Worst console design for generations.

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage (PS5) - A Solid But Slightly Dated Return to the Series' Roots
Sound like it’s everything I wanted it to be. I was never bored of the old style AC and didn’t like the changes they made in Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla.
Sad to hear there isn’t a main hideout that you can upgrade though. This was always one of my favourite things about AC.
