Re: Massive Ghostwire: Tokyo Update Drops After PS Plus Extra Debut

ItsBritneyB_tch

I really enjoyed this game. The atmosphere throughout is incredible. Exploring the the deserted streets in the heavy rain was so eerie and tense (and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in any other game). It’s one of my favourite games from the last few years.

One thing I did change immediately was the default language (from Japanese to English). I think you could only do this from the main menu - you couldn’t change it from the in-game settings.

It pained me to do it honestly because I love hearing the Japanese-speaking voice actors but I couldn’t concentrate on playing the game and reading the subtitles at the same time - especially when you’re mid-fight. I found it too distracting. The English-speaking voice actors were very good though.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Finale - A Highlight Reel of Your Favourite Story

ItsBritneyB_tch

I thought it was just ok overall. There was no chemistry between the lead actors due in part to how short the season was and how rushed the story felt. The characters didn’t feel like real people and the world didn’t feel believable or organic. The lack of infected made it feel like there was no threat. Aside from the flashbacks, I don’t think Ellie and Joel encountered any infected after the episode with Henry. It’s almost as if they have a problem with the infected aspect of the story, like its beneath them or something. The fact that people on set were banned from saying the word ‘zombie’ makes it all seem a little pretentious.

On a positive note, I’m so glad we got the giraffes 😁 and it was great seeing the amazingly talented Ashley Johnson - she knocked it out of the park.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Last of Us Season One Finale?

@swagbag7 I’ve come to the conclusion that Pascal is not a great actor after watching this series. The scene at the medical camp was so poorly acted. I cringed through the entire scene.

It’s weird, because before I watched this show I thought Pascal was the strongest casting choice. But having watched all the episodes, I now think he’s the weakest element.

Bella on the other hand was much better than I she would be.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy's PS5 Platinum Is a Pain in the Ass

ItsBritneyB_tch

I got the platinum this morning. I didn’t think it was THAT bad really but I did read a guide before I started.

Using ancient magic on all enemies can’t be tracked in-game but I made a point of using it on every enemy I encountered as I played.

The first part of the game can be done in under 2 hours if you skip all cutscenes and dialogue. I actually enjoyed seeing the different Common rooms for each house and there’s a slightly different quest you have to complete for each house early in the game, which was nice to see (I probably wouldn’t have bothered if it wasn’t tied to a trophy).

I did have a few collectible scares towards the end of my 100% playthrough. I missed a few of the Butterfly collectibles (which don’t appear in the collectibles list for each area for some reason) and I thought my revelio pages had glitched because I was using the collectibles guide on the PS5 and it showed I had collected them all but my field guide showed 149/150. Luckily I found a guide online and there was a revelio page near the Quidditch Pitch that I was missing.

Overall not too bad - I’ve definitely had worse platinum experiences in the past. I managed to get the platinum in under 55 hours - no way near as time consuming as the recent Assassins Creed games thank god.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy PS5 Patch 1.05 Has Gameplay, Performance Improvements, Fixes Quest Bugs

I haven’t read through the list of fixes but a few things I would suggest is:

  • a completion percentage for each area of the map.
  • the option to purchase collectible maps to show the location of anything you’re missing.
  • the ability to change seasons (I anticipated not being able to do this and did a lot of the side content in the Winter, which was my favourite season).

I’m sure there are some other minor things that I can’t think of right now. But otherwise, I enjoyed every minute of my 50 hours with this game.

Re: It Wasn't For Nothing! The Last of Us' Penultimate Episode Tops 8.1 Million

ItsBritneyB_tch

@PegasusActual93 yes, I thought it was a stunt at first but I don’t believe that anymore. Will’s career is in tatters and Chris didn’t hold back in his recent Netflix special.

I generally don’t like these awards ceremonies. Just an excuse for Hollywood luvvies to pat themselves on the back for playing dress up, whilst being paid millions for the privilege. There are ordinary people (who actually help others) who are more deserving of recognition.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

ItsBritneyB_tch

@BadPlayerOne it’s a show about infected mushroom-zombies wiping out most of the human population - we’re already suspending our disbelief to a greater extent. The reality is, Joel would likely need surgery after sustaining such an injury so we’re already past the point of realism anyway. One way around it would have been for Joel and Ellie to encounter another survivor (with medical training) who patches Joel up. They could even be someone who escaped from David’s group. This survivor could go out hunting for food one day and doesn’t return so Ellie goes out to investigate/hunt and encounters David. She gets the penicillin, gives it Joel and they lay low for a few days before David’s men show up. Ellie is taken prisoner and held for a few more days before Joel comes looking for her. In a sick twist, the meat that they’re serving to the community could turn out to be the guy or girl that patched Joel up. Ellie could find their head on a shelf and their dismembered body hanging from a meat hook or something.

I laughed when Ellie shot the dear with her riffle and David and James find it and are like, ‘What do you think? I don’t see anyone. But they might be nearby.’ Surely they heard the gunshot? The deer couldn’t have travelled too far before bleeding out.

I only wish the season had been given three or four more episodes to allow the plot to develop more. It feels like I’m watching a three hour movie that’s been condensed into a 15 minute summary on YouTube.

The infected have been severely under-utilised too. The whole point of the story is that they’re looking for a cure because the infection has ravaged the global population - yet we’ve barely seen them or how big a threat they pose to the survivors. Why do they even need a cure when encounters with infected are so few and far between?

Re: First-Person Fortnite Could Be Coming to PS5, PS4 Next Season

ItsBritneyB_tch

@rjejr I think it will be a separate mode and zero build only. I heard they ditched the chapter 3 map early because the chapter 4 map has been designed specifically with first person mode in mind. I only really play zero build now but I am looking forward to trying first person. I’ll probably alternate between those two modes when it arrives (if I like it).

Re: Preview: Capcom Showers Resident Evil 4's Late Game with Love

ItsBritneyB_tch

Looking forward to it but looking at these screenshots, I really don’t remember the game as much as I thought I did. I must have completed the game at least 10 times (years ago) but all that comes to mind is the village at the start and the boss fight on the lake. I vaguely remember the castle and being in a barn whilst fending off the infected. It will be interesting to see how much comes back to me when I play the remake.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of The Last of Us - Episode 7?

ItsBritneyB_tch

@OmegaStriver yeah, the show has not lived up to the hype for me, sadly. All those gushing reviews from the critics (‘greatest show ever made!’, ‘better than the game!’ etc.) and the fact that it’s HBO, gave me high expectations. It could have been incredible but it’s really ‘just ok’.
