@heavyartillery56 Also, 30 FPS looks more stuttery on OLED displays in general (compared to older display technologies) due to OLED's near-instant pixel response time ("sample and hold").
@Zeke68 Thanks for the response. To see if I could find anything, I checked the EU PS blog site archives in Wayback Machine (linked below), where blog posts end on 2020/05/28 (when that site merge probably happened as there are only redirect pages archived soon after), and couldn't find any blog posts archived in 2020 (or 2019) with Returnal or Housemarque in the URL. FWIW, the game was apparently announced on 2020/06/11, so that might not be surprising.
@Zeke68 I haven't heard of such a player-specific world seed that would consistently make it more difficult for some. Do you remember which Returnal blog post you read that in? https://blog.playstation.com/tag/returnal/ FYI, weapon level number is determined based on your current weapon proficiency number when you find the weapon. So, you can't find a high-level weapon at the beginning (i.e. when you have low proficiency). And each different type of weapon only spawns after you find that type of weapon for the first time at its corresponding discovery biome and room (assuming that room spawns in your current cycle).
The Crew Motorfest looks great on the Pro, too, with a single mode running at 60 FPS, 1696p typical resolution upscaled to 2160p with a good implementation of PSSR. (Apparently, it's also free to play until December 12, 2024.)
My guess: it will play digital PS4 & PS5 games locally (on device) and PS6 games via cloud or Remote Play, all at 1080p resolution up to 60 FPS, with the same form factor as PS Portal, but heavier (thicker behind the screen), sold for $400 + tax in the US (possibly more if it's affected significantly by tariffs).
@xDD90x Indeed. I would have expected better from Push Square. If it's explicitly confirmed somewhere that restoring a PS5 backup on PS5 Pro wouldn't work, they should have at least linked to a source for that unexpected claim.
Another issue with making a portable version of PS4 would be the save file of each game being separate from that of its PS5 version, which would prevent seamlessly switching between playing on this hypothetical portable and playing on the PS5 (like you can with the Portal) unless you're OK with playing the PS4 version of the game on PS5, which would mean missing out on PS5 improvements over PS4, like better performance and image quality, DualSense features, 3D audio, etc.
Planning to play it on PS5 Pro, after it hopefully gets a bespoke patch for improved performance and image quality. Have too much of a backlog currently anyway.
It's ironic to claim that "PS5 is not even being pushed" while knowing (and even complaining) that some games' performance modes look too blurry/low-res and some games do not always hit their target framerates. PS5 Pro will (at the very least) allow devs to increase the base resolution and possibly the quality of upscaling in performance modes (with PSSR), as well as reduce (or even eliminate) framerate drops (when capped) or increase framerates (when uncapped) for GPU-bottlenecked games (which is most modern 3D games), not to mention potentially adding/improving raytracing features without impacting performance. Also, nobody will be forcing any customer to buy anything. So, if you're satisfied with your PS5, then ignore and don't buy the PS5 Pro.
The poll is missing an option for 40 fps mode, which (for 120Hz TVs) is a great compromise for current gen consoles, and therefore it should ideally be supported in all games. It has a frame time of 25 ms, which is exactly halfway between the frame time for 30 and 60 fps (33.33 ms and 16.67 ms, respectively), and feels mostly stutter-free (unlike 30 fps on OLED TVs), while also running at relatively high resolutions.
@Rafie I had the same "issue". If you don't see a button like "Claim" or "Add to Library" for Witch Queen, you probably already have it in your library. Make sure the main game is installed and updated. If you're on PS5, select "Manage Game Content" in the game icon (Options button) menu on PS5 home screen. If Witch Queen is listed there as Usable, you should already have it in your library, and it should be available in-game, I think.
It's absurd and such a missed opportunity that this headset doesn't support watching 3D videos at all, especially considering Sony's movie business. 🤦🏻
These polls seem to have a problem. What answer are people supposed to choose if they plan on playing the game, but not at launch, because they're too busy with other games?
Probably only The Last of Us Part II Remastered (never played the PS4 version) and Tekken 8, but when they are heavily discounted, since I already have a large backlog.

Re: Six Major PSVR2 Games Announced as Headset Gets Huge Price Drop
@CrackmanNL I see. In that case, I'd include "from Flat2VR Studios" in the title for clarity, just like in the source blog post.
Re: Six Major PSVR2 Games Announced as Headset Gets Huge Price Drop
Wasn't Hitman's PSVR2 version also newly announced, and isn't that a major one? Why was it left out?
Re: RoboCop Returns in Unfinished Business, a Standalone Rogue City Expansion for PS5
While they are at it, I hope they also enhance the game for PS5 Pro, e.g. adding PSSR support.

Astro Bot, now that it's updated for PS5 Pro.
Re: Housemarque's New PS5 Game Will Be a Little Less Punishing Than Returnal
@Zeke68 Can you share your link to that blog post anyway, as the link or the title within the link could still help find it in an Internet archive?

@Americansamurai1 Freedom would look even better if they added PSSR (latest version).
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
I'm halfway through Hogwarts Legacy. Performance mode (uncapped frame rate) looks and performs great on PS5 Pro, FWIW.

Finally finished Spider-Man 2. This game's PS5 Pro enhancements are spectacular on a 120 Hz VRR TV.

No, thanks. I'll wait for the rumored remake of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag if I feel like playing a pirate-themed game.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo?
I'll wait for a PS5 Pro patch to play this next year, given the apparent soft/blurry graphics on PS5. By then it will likely have been discounted too.

Ghost of Tsushima - Iki Island. It's an excellent expansion to the awesome base game.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered?
With that unlocked frame rate fidelity mode (like Hogwarts Legacy), this will be perfect for the PS5 Pro.
