You bet! Far from an FF fan but I’m having a blast. Where’s the difficulty though? Everything is a literal cakewalk (10+ hours in). That’s my main gripe right now.

@awp69 Unfortunately I feel the same way. A tad disappointing admittedly, but I’ve played through worse. Shouldn’t tarnish the experience too badly.

I said I’d wait for the PC version but at the end of the day I’m an impatient mf so of course I pre-ordered after seeing the raving reviews!

@pharos_haven The day one patch was released yesterday. I spoke to another reviewer who tested it and he couldn’t really tell if the patch made any difference to the frame rate. Although he did stress that he didn’t think the performance issues were prevalent enough to impact the overall gameplay during his playthrough.

Oh and DF already tested the day one patch which shows pretty much zero improvements unfortunately.

Excellent review! Not sure if I’ll be able to hold off for the PC version tbh, think I’ll grab it on PS5 after all. Kinda bummed about the frame rate issues though, Square acknowledged them in the demo version so I was hoping they had a fix in place for the full version. Guess not.

@Tharsman Yeah… No cross-progression is a dealbreaker for me unfortunately. I was hoping to continue my playthrough on PS5 because controller support on PC is still mediocre at best.

@Magnus_Selene The demo is very short and consist mostly of (ultra cheesy) dialogue, but I reckon it'll get better, along with a few combat encounters. At least it gives you a rough idea how the combat will feel and work.

@RobynAlecksys There were several instances with 10-20 fps drops. That is pretty darn significant to me. The devs even acknowledged the frame rate issues on Twitter and promising it’ll be fixed in the full game.

Not really. The games aren't bad per se but nothing I personally deem interesting or haven't already played.

Great news! The subpar performance of the demo had me worried. Still on the fence whether to purchase now or wait for PC though.

Thanks for a great review! Admittingly, I'm not a huge horror fan but tempted to pick this up. It's cheap and it's one of the first UE5 games with Lumen "ray-tracing". Likely not the best showcase for UE5 but I'm intrigued nonetheless.

@Enuo Considering ToF is not even remotely close to Genshin’s quality, I think they made the right decision. It’s half-baked all the way through.

I’ve played it for quite a bit and it’s decent but certainly no GI-killer. I’m glad it’s coming to PS since that means we’re getting proper controller support.

Demo was great but it’s not a day one title for me. Think I can hold off until the PC release, as long as it’s not AMD sponsored with trash RT.

Back on the Genshin wagon, but this time I switched things up a little by changing the voice language to Chinese. Slightly less annoying to listen to Paimon, at least for now… My mandarin was actually rather decent back in the day but now I can barely follow Genshin dialogue.

Also trying my hand on Dragon Age: Inquisition for the first time. On PC though to make the experience feel a bit less aged.

Not really a FF fan so Diablo 4 it is. FF7 remake was fun though so I might check out FF XVI at some point!

Hyped? Nah. But I hope it's good. I never watch these showcases. The awesome staff at Push Square will summarize the important bits for me to read later anyway.

Another selection of great games but as per usual everything on the list I deem interesting is already done and dusted. So, can't really vote "I'm happy".

Gravity Rush 3 kthx, Sony! No need for an anime adaptation (okay fine, Gravity Rush anime would be kind of dope).

@RobN I think they've done a great job improving most aspects of the previous title in the sequel. The map isn't atrocious (still not perfect though), and they have added some nice navigation features. The side quests are, well, actual side quests unlike Fallen Order's.

Combat is better and more interesting thanks to more skills/perks/stances and better use of The Force. You spend more time fighting baddies than solving puzzles. I like a good puzzle but some of the puzzles in Fallen Order was notoriously hard to pull off and just ended up getting on my nerves. The puzzles are still a part of Jedi Survivor but they are far less frustrating.

Oh and traversal is a breeze!

Performance aside it's a 9/10 for me. Enjoyed it way more than I anticipated. I wasn't crazy about Fallen Order but Jedi Survivor really hooked me for some reason.

The performance on PC (non-RT) did improve significantly with the patch, haven't done any extensive testing of course but the stuttering issues are way less prononced. Let's hope it carries over the consoles tomorrow.

Ray tracing on PC is still a mess after the patch however. Legit unplayable stutter.

Busy with other games at the moment but I'll pick it up eventually. Had a blast the main game albeit it wasn't as good as the first one, imo.

I haven’t bought a digital game on PSN in ages but since completing The Last of Us on PC recently I decided to purchase Part 2 during this sale.

It looks right up my alley, fingers crossed gameplay is on point! I’ve been playing Tower of Fantasy lately (GI clone, essentially) but it needs more time in the oven. For starters controller support is still half-baked.

What boggles my mind is how anyone can be even remotely surprised by this. It’s Capcon, they’ve been doing this for years…

No, another playthrough might be warranted in 5+ years but no sooner than that.

As amazing as RE4 Remake was I personally enjoyed Wo Long more for some reason. Tough choice nonetheless!

I managed to complete the entire game without any major issues. Literally just one crash towards the end and a couple of very minor microstutter problems in a few places.

Then again, I’m on a top of the line rig. Although, I have read people with similar specs report issues.

They’re fine. Sackboy is surprisingly fun but as usual I already own and finished it.

I’ve had a blast playing through Resident Evil 4 Remake during the week.

This weekend will be spent playing The Last of Us on PC. Luckily, I have a PC that can brute force the performance issues, it’s been running smooth so far. First time playing TLoU so I’m pretty stoked.

@Shepherd_Tallon I know the feeling, I can’t keep up with more than one live service game at a time. When I finally dropped Destiny 2 after a ridiculous amount of hours I hoped onto Genshin, ha.

As for the title in question, I’m intrigued but there’s no rush, I won’t be there day one.

@rusty82 Indeed. When you think you’re nearing the end there’s an additional 10 hours story content awaiting.

All in all the game was good but they could’ve cut some filler content from the story or at least made it as side quests.

Finished Days Gone last night. It was better than anticipated, not sure why it has taken me this long to play it. Admittedly, the story is a bit too long for my tastes felt dragged out towards the end.

Tonight we’ll be embarking on a journey through Resident Evil 4 Remake. Going to be amazing, surely!

As expected, all good with me. Hopefully it means the game will be better optimized when they have one less architecture to worry about.

I would said the same if it was exclusive to PS. I own both consoles, a PC and I’m no trophy hunter so it matters not where I get to play it in the end.

@KaijuKaiser Perhaps. I hope you’re right, but I have a lingering feeling it’s going to be more like Miles Morales which was significantly shorter, about 8 hours or so.

Easy choice what to play first. Spider-Man 2 it is. Primarily for two reasons, one Insomniac’s games are polished at launch Bethesda not so much. Secondly, Spider-Man 2 is likely a short 8 hour ride I’ll complete in a couple of days tops.

@KaijuKaiser This game was well received though? User score on Meta and Steam is actually good unlike Callisto.

I enjoyed it despite not being a Sonic fan at all. My only real complaint was the atrocious amount of pop-in.

Ah, and the classic and quite disturbing gag on A Dog of Flanders at the end.

For once there’s actually a game I haven’t played and want to play on the list, Tchia! Long time since I voted I’m happy with the selection.

Previous additions have also been solid, but it has always been games I’ve already finished or have zero interest in.

This looks great. Finally a reason for me to boot up the PS5 again. Wonder if I’ll be able to complete it before RE4 drops, though.

Good list of QoL improvements and fixes. Already completed the game last week but I’ll be back for the DLCs!
