@Nepp67 Cowboy Bepop was great to be fair. I think my experience has been tainted by some bad anime. What always annoys me about English dubbing is the bit they lose in translation. Like how “NANI?!!!” sounds a lot better than “Whaaaaat?!!!”, because there’s a certain Japanese intonation that doesn’t quite translate. If that makes sense.
I’ll never be convinced any JRPG should be played in English. Not that the English voices aren’t good, they try, but original Japanese audio is always world’s better.
@Northern_munkey Thinking a game doesn’t look good makes you miserable? Do you want everyone to be excited then? Would that be better for you? A world without any critique, where people eat up everything because hey, it’s only a game, just have fun.
Why does it bother you so much anyway? If you think it looks fun, good for you. I think the combat looks awful. I won’t try to say your life is unhappy or something, and I don’t see why me thinking that should make you mad. The game is still coming out and you’re going to play it. I just won’t. That’s the sum of what my critique will come too, so why get riled up?
Ages since I played them on pc, really enjoying the second run. Feels new again. If you like RPGs, give it a try. I would love a large scale entry into this series.
Super interesting. His quest line explains the underground area in late game quite a bit. I get there already is a quest that takes you down there, but would have been cool to find out more about his people.
Let’s be honest, not a miss. Not like they’ll do anything groundbreaking. Maybe it gives them some time to actually address the terrible culture they have
Did they fix the mechanics and systems in the game? I had no issue with the story, found it really interesting as were the side missions. However the progression trees, augmentation system, everything else was woefully under thought and nowhere near where it should be for a true RPG. Also doesn’t sound like the new quests matter in the endgame, so this feels like cut content
Narrative and world building is key to RPGs, and I don’t think Techland has the chops for it. They failed to add any meaningful RPG elements story-wise to Dying Light 2, so I’m not expecting anything more than a 7/10 from this effort. Will probably be fun if that’s all you want
@Jaberwocky I’d usually agree, but in this case, the balance changes actually encourage you to try new builds, which can be pretty fun. For instance my first play through was as a STR/FTH build, and it was great, but now that they’ve buffed some of the lesser used incantations, I may stick with my stats but change my loadout and incantations. Genuinely will feel completely different. Also you get to try some of the broken combos before they get nerfed, which can be hilarious.
Does this apply to players you already have? If so, that’s a great idea. If you pick up a lesser known player at season start banking on them having a belter, it could work in your favour big time. Mind you I’m thinking in football terms, but I like that idea
Oh not this again, just make the game first. Cannot deal with them overselling again. Please people, don’t pre-order. They made a mint of Cyberpunk despite the backlash because so many pre-ordered. We need to let them earn our trust back. Wait for reviews and avoid any pre-release shows they put on their YouTube channel.
Combat looks super stiff. Everyone is just standing in one place. It looked liked the player was forcing themselves to remember to roll every now and then. Not convinced tbh. Something about the combat doesn’t seem right, it’s too static
Can’t believe there are people who did it in this community, after all the warning signs. They’ll be part of the downfall of gaming, continually excusing egregious practices because “it’s only £10”. When games start costing £100, they’ll say “well that’s what they used to cost”. For a bunch of enthusiasts, they don’t really care about the state of gaming as an industry, as long as their box art matches up.
@LiamCroft That’s not what they were mad about with regard to the tweet. I don’t play Battlefield but had a look at the sub and what they were mad about was the dev team saying the fans expecting basic things like leaderboards to be implemented was brutal. The majority of the anger comes from veteran players who dislike the number of features that were cut from previous games and how barebones it was at launch. It’s easy to pick out the vitriol, which there is, but it seems a little easy to boil down the reactions to “internet being internet” and “they don’t want them to have a holiday”.
Also, to those who say they enjoyed playing and don’t see the issue, fair enough, but diehard fans of the franchise are annoyed at how much was taken away compared to previous instalments. Being happy with whatever they put out as long as it’s fun for you is a recipe for mediocrity, surely, especially since the cuts are a little baffling.
Speaking as a new Hades addict, it has been phenomenal. The sheer build variety and endgame stuff to do is amazing. My game of the year so far, but I’m also planning on getting Death’s Door. It your tastes are like mine Stephen, which seems to be the case as not many else are mentioning Hades and Deaths Door, I’ll have to maybe give Returnal a go as I wasn’t sure it’d be my kind of game.
If you ignore the bugs, it’s a decent game with an engaging story and fantastic character writing, but it was sold entirely on lies. Whether or not you think the game is good, you can’t escape the fact that CDPR overhyped it to the moon and flat out lied to everyone about how robust and deep the game would be. I’m not sure I’ll ever forgive them, was a huge fan of theirs and they spent what, 5x 30 min episodes of pure hype drivel on YouTube? The gall
I platinumed both Mordor games and this kinda bums me out. The way the Nemesis system was used was simply to pad playing time and keep you doing the same Ubisoft map clearing over and over again. The system was also poorly under-utilised when you consider the potential, so not particularly excited about its inclusion. Giving me flashbacks of all my grinding
This is going to be terrible. They just had to Ubisoft it. Bland open world, time wasting map markers here we come. NFTs will be great. Think I’m calling it quits on Ubisoft games. These and abuse allegations (and lack of action) leave a sour taste.
@Nepp67 Not necessarily about whether they’re simple or difficult, but if a game basically wastes your time to platinum, it’s not worth doing. Like A Dragon platinum was a breeze, as even though it took an extra 20 hrs or so, it still felt like I was engaging the games mechanics and learning more about them. Judgment just takes the piss. You don’t learn anything more or appreciate the game more, it’s just grinding.
Actually initially thought , cool will try that. Then remembered it’s Blizzard, nope, sorry. I know not supporting the game seems like it will hurt the devs, but when else would Blizzard ever take note if their bottom line isn’t hit.

Re: Best RPGs on PS Plus
Not evidence that my opinions differ vastly from the community. I mean, I’d never ever put New Vegas below Fallout 3.
