I’ll never turn down sci fi. Devs have a good pedigree and hopefully this is enough to fill the Mass Effect hole, since ain’t no chance BioWare are going to.
@Mad001 We don’t even know the characters yet. How do you know the writing will be bad? Seems presumptuous, you can write a good satirical story about modern life.
Bungie are absolutely awful. I tried D2 after Lightfall and got quite into it, but the more I learned about the game the more I realised how little they sometimes seem to care about their community, and how awful some of the monetisation schemes are and how many hoops I needed to jump through to experience the story.. Bones of a fabulous shooter with nonsense all over it.
@Jacko11 It’s a decent game but nowhere close to game of the year. Systems are fairly basic. If it didn’t have the Potter legacy, it would basically be a Greedfall.
You have to wonder about where the industry is going if people have to do this in defiance of the devs. The industry is not right, and at some point the ridiculous money spent on game dev and monetisation is going to lead to a bust. We’re already seeing people being fired left and right because ***** games made no money. Even the good games can never seem to make “enough” money to satisfy them. Something has to give at some point.
@Mauzuri I much preferred DA2 to Inquisition. Gameplay was extremely tedious and I felt like I was playing a bad MMO. Story and characters were great but as someone who completed and collected everything, it was an absolute chore and I don’t think it was GOTY at all. I say that as a DA fan.
In some ways I’d just like the IP to be passed around. Incredible potential but it’s with a studio that hasn’t shown it’s capable of fulfilling it anymore. We’re going to waste years waiting for mediocre DA and ME games, then wait years again before BioWare probably dissolves and someone else maybe picks them up.
Looool as if we’d get hyped for anything new BioWare puts out. Proof will be in the pudding, we have no reason whatsoever to think this is likely to be good given recent evidence.
Currently going through tactician. Think honour mode is doable but you’d have to fight encounters in a specific order unless you brought enough cheese.
It’s a great point about socio-political infantilism, as a major part of propaganda is trivialising nuance. Appreciate how aware all parties seem to be and the risks they’ve taken, will defo check this out.
@homelesscretin Rogue Trader is coming out in December. I’m personally going to use that as a starting point for Warhammer, as it’s an RPG and should have lots of lore within it.
They need to decide whether they want to make a proper RPG and set expectations accordingly. If you’re going to give us an action adventure, that’s fine, but they need to not overpromise you’re going to be able to have huge amounts of choice and consequence. Personally hoping we get some kind of interaction with Morgan Blackhand. Maybe a mentor for the next merc?
It really has become too familiar, to the point I block these releases from my mind because there’s nothing particularly interesting to them. Anime is hot fire though.
I dipped my Ranger into Cleric late and they have a lot of extra dialogue specific to their god, it’s crazy! All the classes have things going for them, can’t wait to start a new playthrough. Monk/Thief next for me.
Very very hyped. Loved Wrath of the Righteous and feel like Owlcat are getting better and better with each game. We need 4-6 high quality CRPG studios to make sure we have something chunky to play on the regular. We won’t hear from Larian now for likely years, who knows what will happen with the Disco team, InXile are Xbox now etc.
It should be quite doable as people as saying Tactician isn’t as hard as previous games, and I’m currently going through DOS2 on Honour and Tactician and finding it quite pleasant barring a few scary my encounters. I’ll probably also do a few origin playthroughs so will defo try for this.
@Fiendish-Beaver Would temper expectations for anything massive as they’ve said it would be too tricky to boost levelling, so they may have to get creative with little bits.
@Northern_munkey lack of physical is a bit annoying. The collector’s edition looked amazing though if you want lovely art, but probably a stretch if you’re just looking to try it out and not too into DnD.

Sucks to hear about the bugs, was going to book time off to play this but may delay it a week or so. Looking forward to a first foray into 40k though.

Re: The Witcher 4 Must 'Build a New Community', Aims to Exceed Predecessor Entirely
It’s years away, they need to stop with the unjustified hype. They’re going to set themselves up again, just quietly cook.

Oh dear god, next they’ll have a real estate agent simulation just so they cover the bases for awful people.
