Re: Enjoy 22 Minutes of Developer-Led Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gameplay

Combat looks really repetitive and the character models look weird. This feels like it’s going to be one of those games you don’t play for the gameplay, and the amount of input you have on what Rook says doesn’t make feel like it will be particularly reactive. Very curious to see reviews for this but I don’t think this was a great showing, although the story sounds interesting.

@SeanOhOgain Do consumers have no right to complain? Just buy the product and accept it? I’ll never understand this. They bought the game, they can comment or review it poorly. I don’t understand how you want them to get the devs’ attention, particularly as reviews have proved to be the very best way to get a reaction from a dev. Sending a feedback form or @-ing them on Twitter doesn’t cut it. What exactly should people with a legitimate criticism do?

The use of language here is interesting. They say players felt more “engaged”, but what does that mean exactly? That they liked it? Or that when asked specifically about how involved they felt combat was with the main character, they responded “very much so”, because those are two different things in my mind. You can feel engaged, whatever that means, without really liking something.

Re: Quidditch Champions Is the PS5, PS4 Harry Potter Sports Sim You've Been Waiting For

@AK4tywill It is strange how powerful nostalgia is. I read all the Harry Potter books as a kid and was into them, but as I read more and grew up I’ve found far better worlds to explore in fiction. I don’t find this universe as interesting anymore, which is great since the author is horrific, but it triggers such a deep response to people so many years after. I’d say it’s a time and place thing but I don’t know. That said, I always thought quidditch was a poorly thought out sport so I’m mostly curious to see how this game makes it a proper sport. Will definitely read a review or two.

@Doctor_BK you may not be as permanently online as some of us. The car has a litany of horrific issues and is basically a cash sink for crypto bros who see it as a status symbol first. Plus Musk is a horrible person, there’s literally hours upon hours of videos, articles and podcasts detailing exactly why if you’re really interested.
