This wouldn't be so bad if: 1)Sony still offers the option do download past purchases, and, 2)Sony actually bothered to put all of their games, from PS1 to Vita, through PSNow so that anyone from the big platform can enjoy what they were missing out on...or you know, just release a big collection a la Rare Replay.
@Porco i think this is why Sony admitted that their take on online multiplayer games have been rough as of lately. A shame cause they gave us some gems like Everybody's Golf.
Well, I can't say I told you so but I told you so lol
Still, a 6 is an decent score for a game like this. Let's just hope the developers continues to communicate with its playerbase and improve many of the game's shortcomings if we REALLY don't want this to become the next Drawn to Death or Hardware Rivals (I'm still surprised that game still has its servers up). Like you said, there's potential here, but we have to wait and see what holds for the game in the future.
@Katsuhono Yeah, I can see your point. And yes, that Darth Vader grind was super tiresome. Although, in the case for this game, is just to see some story challenges with very few cutscenes that one can see on Youtube, which kinda sucks (for me) cause I want to earn these by myself instead of having to rely on someone uploading videos of these lol
With so many people her defending and criticizing the game, in the end, it really just depends on how Sony will see the game. You could one day continue to have a blast with the game despite the criticism, and then BAM, server shutdown announced for next year just because it sadly didn't meet Sony's expectations. Really hoping the devs would actually listen to feedback and hopefully continue to support the game.
At the very least, they should add Sweet Tooth in the game. If Rocket League could get a Twisted Metal collab, why not Destruction All Stars, right?
@Katsuhono I'd actually would like that lol Though highly doubtful since it would mean people who actually spent money on the coins just to unlock these missions were pointless lol
Though appearantly you can actually obtain Destruction Coins through challenges and such, which is something I just realized now lol Strange that the article didn't point it out. I still find this decision weird, especially when it's a $70 online only game. This would have been fine if it was a F2P from the start, instead of "Free for 2 months".
Also, I don't want to be like one of those guys, but while I can see the reasons on why people here defending this decision, I can't help but feel like this would have been different if the game was multiplatform or better yet, an Xbox exclusive lol
People here really need to understand that just because Rocket League was good, that doesn't mean Destruction All Stars could have the same success. Just look at what happened with Disc Jam, Hardware Rival, Dead Star or Drawn to Death.
And mind you, I'm still interested on trying the game out (I'm one of the few who actually finds the gameplay fun, although the art direction is definitely all over the place). I'm just worried the game won't last long, even after being offered on PS Plus. After all, Sony is not well known for their recent online multiplayer games. Of course, GoT: Legends, GT Sport (though not as favored as some of the other GT games) and Dreams are exceptions but what about Drawn to Death? Or Driveclub? Or Tomorrow Children? Or Ready Set Heroes? Or Predator Hunting Grounds, which granted, is still supported, but who knows how long will the servers continue to hold up?
@Constable_What And Hardware Rivals. Remember when people thought it was going to be the next Rocket League? Then it just kinda...fell into obscurity?
Same can be said with Disc Jam. Like Hardware Rivals, it was offered on PS Plus and while not completely dead, it's not as actively supported as it once was.
The only PS Plus multiplayer game I recall that did manage to continue to live on was Fall Guys. Though one exception won't guarantee the next one to be as successful.
I'm still interested on trying out Destruction Allstars, but I'm worried it'll suffer the same fate as some of Sony's other multiplayer games like Drawn to Death and Hardware Rivals. But hey, we'll just have to wait and see.
@Wormold Won't the game remain free for February but after that, it'll return to be $70? I wouldn't mind if the game was free to play with no need of paying $70 but as it is? I'm kinda skeptical :/
@darkswabber From what I have read, the idea is that you are on a night shift, tasked to keep the diner tidy all while those spirits terrorize the place. Is a good concept but the execution is rather weak. It's mostly trial and error, and it's barely even scary. It's like it's trying to be like FNAF, but fails to understand what made that game successful.
Regardless though, it's a lot better than the dev's previous game, that's for sure.
Kinda expected to be honest. Though I've seen much worse MTX practices. I guess it's nice for people who don't have enough time to grind. I get that it looks scummy but it's Ubisoft, what did ya'll expect lol
Honestly, atleast it's not as bad as locking necessary content through a paywall (not referring to standard DLC). Now THAT'S something to complain about. Like that battle royale game Don't Even Think where the devs thought it was a good idea to lock a new were class and a drone weapon through a paywall. Few months later and the game died. No longer available on the PS Store. I guess that what happens when you actually force the players to pay money just to get good or have fun.
According to them, while they don't have control over franchises like Gravity Rush and Siren, they still wouldn't mind collaborating again with Sony if it's to work on these series again or for a new IP.
@get2sammyb Agreed, though try telling that to those from r/demonssouls. So many posts there criticizing some of the changes, from the biggest (certain boss themes) to even the smallest (characters having grunt sounds). I understand where they are coming from but man, even if the remake does something that's as good, if not better than the original, people there will still find a way to complain about it.
Had to take a break from visiting that site. Reminds me of the time Dark Souls 2 got released and gained a lot of nitpicks from the fans.
@TG16_IS_BAE The reviewer did acknowledge the music and called it good but not as good as the original's. Personally, some of the tracks like Flamelurker and Astrea I actually kinda like, but then you would have something like Phalanx's theme where it lacks the memorable rhythm it had before.
What I would personally love to see Buepoint do is adding the original soundtrack as an option for those who prefers the classic rendition. If their SotC remake managed to keep the original music, then I don't think it's impossible for them to do the same for DeS.
My guess the one percent of games that won't be played are those that were removed and can no longer be found (Speakeasy, Solbrein, Wander, Afro Samurai 2, etc.), and possibly online only games that got their servers shut down (Don't even think, Genesis, Paragon, Tomorrow Children, etc.)
What I would like to see if Sony could make their own Elder Scrolls/Fallout equivalent IPs. Like how about a fantasy game open world RPG based on Ghost of Tsushima Legends' take on japanese folklore.
Or maybe an open world rpg spinoff of Horizon Zero dawm where we can create our own characters and it could take in different regions around the world? Just think of fighting a loch ness monster robot in Scotland, or a dragon-like robot in Japan or China. That would be sick imo.
Finally. Was disappointed with chinajoy 2020 and was worried that we won't get anything new about China Hero this year.
Honestly, I just want to know whatever the heck happened with Pervader. It's the only VR game from China Hero that hasn't been released yet and last we heard anything new about it was back in 2018.
Really excited for this. The only other theme park based game I have ever played before was Thrillville 2 on the Wii which, even to this day, remains as one of my favorite Wii games, flaws and all.
A shame it didn't get made into the game. The ability of summoning cops into the battlefield is cool but it really makes you wonder how it would look in certain situations like the Doc Ock boss fight.
@ralphdibny @MFTWrecks Oh, I see. I guess I was mistaken. My bad. Kinda always thought that Cap was mostly a brawler-kind of guy, with his shield being his choice of weapon.

Love how he actually recommended Gravity Rush remastered.
Re: Co-Op Shooter Aliens: Fireteam Announced for PS5, PS4, Arrives This Summer
I just hope it's better than Colonial Marines.
Re: PS Vita Owners Have a New Game to Look Forward to Playing
Not too big on roguelikes but might try this one out on Vita just because lol
Re: PS Store Discontinues Movie, TV Rentals and Purchases in August
As someone who never bought or rented a movie from ps store, this really comes to no one's surprise.
Re: Mini Review: Taxi Chaos (PS4) - Crazy Taxi Clone Is a Write-Off
Hey come on I kinda liked Creed lol
Though I much preferred Knockout League, which sadly isn't as much talked about.
Re: Tom Holland Doesn't Sound Particularly Happy with His Portrayal of Uncharted's Nathan Drake
Well, at least his honest.
Re: So, Square Enix Is Making Another Final Fantasy VII Remake Called Ever Crisis... On Mobile
Definitely more promising than their battle royale spinoff, that's for sure.

I mean, at least it's no Knights of Brittannia, Jump Force or One Punch Man.
Still wished it was more than another arena fighter.

Here's hoping it turns out better than the other Resident Evil movies.

Re: Here's Resident Evil Re:Verse in Action with Five Minutes of Footage
The maiden demo got me excited.
This one? Not so much. Capcom needs to ditch its PvP direction and just go full co-op or something.
Re: PS Plus Members in Japan Get a Fourth Free Game in February
Man, japan gets the best PS Plus offerings...well, except Umbrella Corps of course.

Nice to see that Microsoft actually listened.

And just when they were about to finally wrap up the production. Honestly, it would have been better if they released the movie on streaming services.
Re: Naughty Dog 'Making Something Very Cool' as Hiring Spree Advertised

Kinda forgot about this game lol Last time I heard about it was a promise of an Xbox One port, which hasn't happened yet strangely enough.
Regardless, kudos for the devs not forgetting their game. I wonder what they're up to now.
