Re: Lost Soul Aside (PS5) - Long Awaited Action Is Both Awesome and Painfully Awkward

@PuppetMaster You do have a point, but it still need to be said about the quality control here. China Hero games like In Nightmare and even Lost Soul Aside were released with a lot of technical hiccups, which is rather disappointing considering Sony was involved so you would think they would have atleast given them time to iron things out. Not to mention, as much as I really do appreciate their goal with the program, I think it's unfair for some of the games to hog most of the attention. Both AI Limit and Evotinction were some of their recently released games that were actually decent but barely anyone talks about them because of the lackluster marketing Sony gave them when compared to Lost Soul. I just wish they tone down a bit the favoritism and let all the other devs' games get some love too imo.

@WhoderMan Same thoughts as well. It's weird because a lot of China Hero Project's other titles were atleast decently priced for what they offered, usually costing around $40 or even less. Hell, one of its most recent releases, AI limit, which was surprisingly alright despite some jank, launched with a price tag of $35 and garnered a somewhat decent reception. After reading into some of the development hurdles, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony were responsible for deciding on releasing the game with a high price tag. $40-$50 would have been perfect imo.

As someone who has been keeping an eye on China Hero Project since 2017 and still hope the best for the developers to continue fixing the game into a much playable state, considering this game was considered as the main star of the program, I feel like it's about time we discuss about some of the problems with China Hero Project itself. From lack of VR acknowledgement to little marketing towards their other titles to games being released in a buggy state at launch to some of the titles getting canned in secret, it's personally frustrating how these things are getting ignored as I think it's important to call them out and show actual support to the devs who worked hard on these games but never gained the benefit all because they were seen as less important as Lost Soul Aside.

I still very much glad that an initiative that can help chinese devs (as well as from other regions like India) find their footing outside their local market exists as it can really help show what developers from various countries are capable of and not just from America, Europe or Japan, but at this point, I'm really starting to wonder if Sony is really doing this out of passion, or just for good publicity.

Anyway, as I said before, I still hope the team continue to improve it (despite some of the controversies), as I really don't want Sony to pull a "Concord" on this game and inmediately move on to pretend it never existed because underneath a lot of this jank, there's great potential here, and I still commend the developer for sticking to its hack and slash roots instead of replacing the gameplay style with a souls-like combat system.

Re: PS5, PC Live Service Fairgames Is a 'Super Clunky' Cross Between Fortnite and The Division

If "elements of Fortnite" can be summed up as "another battle royale", then absolutely LMAO. Do most devs not realized that it's very hard to do well in this genre? So many battle royales have either shut down or are completely forgotten these past few years, and only very few have survived. Like what chance does Haven Studios think they have for it to survive alongside Fortnite or PUBG? Especially with the game's aesthetic being so unappealing, and an extraction-shooter + battle royale just doesn't scream as a good combo.

Re: Capcom to Pull the Plug on Rubbish Resident Evil Multiplayer Spin-Off

SoulsBourne128

They should just take notes of online co-op games like Helldivers and Deep Rock Galactic and use that format for their Resident Evil multiplayer game. It's something I had thought for years since high school and after playing Outbreak, I genuinely don't know Capcom bothers with these pvp focused titles. Feels like RE works best as a co-op game but that's just me.

Re: Unfazed by Concord, Sony Doubles Down on Exploring Service Games

SoulsBourne128

Helldivers 2 is to Sony Computer Emtertainment what Venom is to Sony Pictures. They think that one success is guarantee that the other will be just as good, not realizing that there are other factors that contributed Helldivers 2's success besides bring a "live service game", mostly that the game was designed as a fun multiplayer game first, and live service title second.

If sony still wants to keep working on this, then either give us Playstation Home 2 or a new PS All Stars game. I think they can make a good live service game. Hell, Gran Turismo 7 is doing alright so far. The thing is, these games were made in the end to entertain their audiences and fans in mind. Games like Concord and Destruction All Stars feel like they were made to chase trends, which isn't always a good thing to keep in mind when making these games (take a look at Nerdslayer studios' videos)

I'd say that I'm still pissed ofd that they shut down Concord instead of giving the studio another shot. Despite my gripes with Concord, I would have actually loved to see them make a comeback, perhaps learning from their mistakes. Instead, they treated Concord and their team like an afterthought.

Re: Rumour: FromSoftware Classic Getting the Remaster Treatment

SoulsBourne128

Honestly, I'd rather take a full dark souls trilogy remaster for newer consoles.

And hey, if the rumors about the switch 2 are true, then maybe release the collection over there as well. It's still hilarious to me how the switch was capable to run skyrim, dragons dogma, doom, and the likes but can't with dark souls 2's vfx lol

Re: Secret Level Creator Comments on Concord's Awkward Anthology Inclusion

SoulsBourne128

The problem is that it's a hero shooter. Why lock all the stuff, from cool story moments to character interactions, behidn weekly cutscenes and walls of text while spend most of our time shooting the same characters over and over again? I said it before but a "No Man's Sky or Rogue Galaxy meets Borderlands" Concord game would have done wonders.

Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures (PS5) - Dull Design Lets Down This Gorgeous Spin-Off

SoulsBourne128

Personally, I would have preferred if the game wasn't exclusively set in the world of horizon. Considering they only have two or three Horizon ips to work with, it's no wonder why the game feels somewhat limited in other parts, kinda like what happened with the lego hobbit game.

If this was instead Lego Playstation Adventures that lets you play through levels based on iconic playstation worlds or landmarks like Greece from God of War or the mountains of Tibetan Plateau from Uncharted. It would have atleast provided some variety imo.

Re: Spider-Man 2 Won't Receive Any PS5 Story DLC

SoulsBourne128

What's strange is that months ago it was revealed through a debug mode that Beetle was being set up as the DLC villain. My guess is that they're probably saving it for either the sequel or the supposed venom game. That, or Insomniac just kinda gave up, and giving the amount of rewrites Spiderman 2 went through during the development as well as the unexpected hack, I can't really blame them, unfortunately. Still, some small continuation of the symbiote would've been nice. Hopefully, Sony will give them enough time for the 3rd game (and please don't force them to rush it, I don't care how impatient Spiderman fans will get)
