I kinda want to check this game out because I want PlayStation to make more lighthearted games but at the same time I don't want to fuel Herman's fetish of shoving Horizon in everyone's face.
I've a long for the ride since Digital Extremes fumble of the launch. It's a good time especially after Airship were finally able free it completely from DE grasps and relaunched the game as an offline (or online) ARPG. It's a good game with very friendly and transparent devs, they kept the community updated consistently, good and the bad on Discord.
Can't wait for the QOL updates, new content at launch, and the future updates.
I would literally do Avalon's bidding to see Soul Sacrifice on PS5, I'm going through Delta now (I only played through the original) and it's still such great Monster Hunter-like with a unique twist in gameplay mechanics and story telling.
@Nakatomi_Uk I'm talking about the PS5 version. Naughty Dog claimed everything was built from the ground up. I think that applies to the PC version too, ND just royally screwed up / lied. I think they did what Bluepoint does. Just Bluepoint has the decency to call their games Remasters and not built from the ground up remakes.
Sucks you couldn't get the refund. That port was/is unacceptable.
I'm interested in this. Loved the original. I just can't trust when PlayStation says it's "built from the ground up". I played the Last of Us Remastered and jumped straight to The Last of Us Remake which was allegedly "rebuilt". I encountered the same weird glitches that I had in Remaster in the same spots.
Man, wished Sony tried this hard on marketing with Puppeteer, Resistance, Gravity Rush, Patapon, Sly Cooper, Infamous, Returnal Medieval, PS Vita, and much more.
Individually they probably would have sold about 10x more than Concord besides 2x more with this budget.
I'm just going to say if modders can add achievements to retro games and even have a website dedicated to it, Sony can add trophies to these games. I sure will not subscribe if they don't enhance them with this feature. Might as well just play them on my PS3.
After playing all three tests, I'm so ready for this once it goes on sale. The gameplay was so fun for me and the negatives here sound like a breath of fresh air. The last beta test had me at Jack blaring not "Limp Bizkit" in a middle of a monologue.
Edit: Heads up, Best Buy has a pretty sick Steelbook for this game if any of you are interested in collecting them.
@Sushisunbreak I agree. It gets so bad that when I'm climbing a ladder she has to say "I got to climb up this obvious ladder to solve this puzzle." Or when she interrupts fellow NPCs by saying the most mundane instructions to the puzzle. Like calm down Aloy, I'm not a games reviewer.
This is actually awesome, going to snatch this up asap. I just finished the Sonic one recently and that one is really cool too. It was my first Lego set since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Lego has some pretty sick sets these days.
Planet Coaster is great. If anyone played Rollercoaster Tycoon back in the day, you will enjoy this, maybe even more. Tiny Tina is a easy Platinum if that is of interest to anyone.
Currently playing the update and.... It's really fun. I played 5 matches so far and I'm having a blast. The way they retooled the gameplay to be skilled based and made the maps smaller is a huge plus. It's a shame they didn't launch the game like this. Unfortunately I can't seem to find another match at the moment. Been waiting for 20 minutes...
Edit: I'm now having no trouble finding matches. Hopefully after this update they focus on content. What they have gameplay wise here is really fun.
This game looks bonkers. It looks like they learned from the best parts of the Witcher and BoTW. Just being able to climb parts of the world that look climable is a huge improvement over the original game. Also like how some RPGs are adding lore friendly mini-games. GWENT was so much fun, hopefully this one is too.
@figboot alot of games from that era actually still play great and look great. In example the Ratchet and Clank series is still great especially a Crack In Time and its still better than remake and Rift Apart.
Okay so my original comment I said natively, I meant emulation because that's what the Xbox does. I'll take the loss on that. But my point still stands overall; a group of unpaid fans did a solid job in 10 years. They had no design documents, no code, any backend information, or money that this massive MULTIBILLION dollar Corporation has. My outdated PC can run the emulations alright, not the best and that's again by a unpaid group.
While Sony's software engineers may not be on the level of Microsoft. They are still some of the best. Microsoft at least tried.
Also the retro market is a sizeable group. You guys are underestimating the size. Look at Nintendo.
It kinda ridiculous that Sony can't find a way for these games to play natively. If Unpaid modders can get them to at least function on a PC, then the people who actually designed the console and codes should be able to make them run alot better. Microsoft won me over (I've been a mostly PS gamer since I got into the PS1). Just got an Xbox and it's so awesome I can play the original Gears trilogy at 4k 60fps.
Edit: I meant emulation. I was on break with limited time to proofread.
If any PlayStation game needs a PC port it's Dreams. The PC crowd will eat this up. Make it free to play, finally add multiplayer and allow the creators a option to charge for their creations. The software deserves a bigger fan base.
I'm a huge Platinum fan. I buy almost everything they put out; this game might be the exception to the rule. I really hope they take the closed-beta feedback to heart and fix it's problems. As of when I last played it was a dreadful experience from Graphics to gameplay. It was just so boring which is completely opposite from a average game from this studio. Definitely be weary of this one guys, I'm having more fun with the Avengers then I had with this game.
Edit: Would like to add that I really did want to have fun with game. I'm all-aboard for a melee focused Live service game that competes with Destiny. I hope they do release one last beta period to prove me and the others who played it wrong.
My biggest problem with the human opponents is that you could just whistle a whole camp over towards you 1 by 1 and assassinate them. It was funny but totally immersion breaking.
@NightMiroir Thanks for the words of encouragement. Unfortunately I didn't win them. The alpha who won them stole my girlfriend, my house, and my family. Alas I will now forever be a swagger less beta male who had his life destroyed by those sweet-ass Gucci PlayStation rings.
@NEStalgia I don't see anything out of the ordinary with your list, maybe Shrek because his love is a little too great. Shrek is love, Shrek is life. Everything else on that list are great action-adventure kids movies and Fifty Shades of Grey is a great educational film on the many shades of colors.
I never got to truly play these, my parents were against me playing M rated games back in the day so I missed out on a lot of classics. So I'm pretty hyped to check these out.
Game was really good fun; played it with my girlfriend and she really enjoyed it too. It was her first games experience. Would really like to see a expansion for it.
@Blackjay I was interested in 5/10 trailers that were shown. That's decent for me. I don't hype these shows to ungodly levels. Not everything is going to be someones cup of tea. You didn't like it so much, I respect that.
Deaths Door is really good! Surprised to see it on PlayStation; thought Microsoft put some bucks into it.
Show was decent overall nothing too crazy but I enjoyed what I seen.
Shocked about Kart Rider though. Played that as a kid on my potato PC back in the day. Can't believe it's still around. Nexon should also port Combat Arms while they're at it so the new generation can perform nut shots.
I wish Sony will make their own PC Store/launcher in the future so we can earn trophies, message PSN friends, etc. on PC. I'm down to rebuy these games again if that happens.
@Nalverus for a TV, 6ms is actually pretty great if not some of the best in the market. The only only other one that I see that competes is the LG OLED65G1 at 9ms.
Edit: I found one a tad lower at 5.32 the LGC1 but still 6ms is not oof.

I'd personally add the atrocious voice acting to the pros, I'm laughing so much because of it. Adds to the charm imo.
