@Peterchu Without spoilers, I thought the story picked up at the end of the game. But I agree, the start and the end was the only parts that really built Basims story overall.

Just platinumed it. 8/10.
-1 for the PS5 graphics, at the end of the game some characters look like PS3 graphics...
-1 for not really anything new or anything that try to evolve the franschice. They kind of played it too safe in a way.
If you take that in to account this is a solid fun game all things considered. I got my moneys worth so I'm happy.

For anyone here that wants a more "professional" view, check out "FextraLifes" review after 100 hours played on youtube.
And while watching his videos no sound-issues what so ever as far as I can tell...

Regarding the sound issues or whatever what was bad during the review, have you guys tried it after todays patch?!
I have preloaded the game and I got a huge patch a few hours ago so just curious..

@AndyKazama This game is made by a brand new team(!), I think they sacked the first team but I'm not 100% sure.
So no need to compare it to the first, that's why this game pretty much have same title, it's a reboot of sorts.

@RunGMhx You're naive if you think they are pressuring him into buying only one company. It will start with one PUBLISHER (=many studios) and if that goes well they will surley buy another, and another...
It's Disney for christ sake, look how many Filmstudios they bought: The own Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers and a ton of studios to make all these franchises.

I rather have "Drumsmith" for PS5 and I want to be able to connect my electronic drums through midiconnection. That would be THE "music game to rule all music games" for me!!

Stop using "Bloodborne inspired" on non 3rd person games, makes no sense at all imho. Bloodborne is unique in every way from all other games in setting, mood, story...everything!
Even Lies Of P is leeching on the Bloodborne's legacy without being a "Bloodborne" game in any way, or is it enough to be dark alleys and a actionRPG, no, it doesn't!

Now make an interview with Hermen Hulst and ask him:
1) Do they still believe in "generations" - if so, why no PS5 only games so far except Ratchet and Clank?
2) Why no news on upcoming firstparty games?
3) Why is he hiding from the PS5 owners? What have he done for us the last few years? Will he be replaced just as Jim Ryan now that the service-crap is caving in? Will we see any firstparty PSVR2 games or has he abandoned the platform already?
And so on...
So many questions we need answers to in my opinion.

For everyone mentioning touchcontrols - I might be wrong but doesn't apple's OS on phones/ipads/computers all support Dualsense since last winter? I'm pretty sure I read that about 6-8 months ago.
I don't own (and don't want one) Iphone because I prefer my PS5/75" Sony TV - combo. That's all me and my wife needs for movie and gaming sessions

With "cancelculture" I meant people not buying the game because they saw some "cancelcuture" comment online that said it wasn't good and "if everyone else doesn't like it when I can't like it"
I rather buy a "bad" game and learn that the hard way than trusting people online tbh. I bought into the Cyberpunk 2077 lies how revolutionary it would be and how great it looked. They even lied and said the 4K HDR footage was captured on a PS5 when it was a beefed up PC.. So lesson learned, never trust CDPR again, ever. Liars will lie to make more money.

Anyway, so now I don't trust anyone elses view on any game at all. I read, like Push Square, take EVERYTHING with a big grain of salt, and maybe watch a YT video of the game in question.
After that I make my own decision to buy , not buy or just wait for it to be cheaper or come to PS Plus.
But not many seem to be like me reading comments online. It's Black/White in every game discussion and mostly "Black" =cancel the game!
When people don't buy it stuff like these layoffs happens, sad reality.
My friend bought this game, and the little I played it was quite good, solid 7/10 for me..

@nessisonett It's the times we live in, cancelculture and all that. I agree, so sad make it at 1st try or you're out. That can't be good for the gaming industry in the long run imho.

Serious question, I got totally burned on base game, it still doesn't look good enough on my PS5 comparing to the original trailer that overpromised ALOT. Is it the same thing this time I wonder?!

@MonkeyNinja506 Hard to find co-op/online friends when you are 55 as I am. At least where I live So I'm really against Sony's online/MP push lately. I feel 100% left out atm.

During covid lockdown you could "rent" the local cinema for a small group of people and watch a movie OR play Playstation 5 games through their digital camera. Much bigger than 200" I tell you that. Totally awesome, I wish they would keep doing that now even when the pandemic is officially over.

My backlog says "I'm fine thanks". But we all know I will find something, at least if they add the few missing PSVR2 games I want, like Hubris and Red Matter 2
(I know they are cheap but I shouldn't buy more games now, but if they get cheaper.... I Might LOL)

Just did 2 nightmare dungeons, a little better but I'm level 75 and with this XP it will take me months to get to 100...
And it's a chore when nothing happens on that XPbar...
(One run gave about 3-5% XP on my level 75 bar playing solo, as I always do)

I'm curious if Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is coming to PSVR2 or does meta have some sort of exclusive deal on that game?

Unfortunate the patch didn't fix it 100%. But hopefully they can tweak that last bit to perfection in the coming week or so.
I'm just a little confused how they had a better launch on the OG PS4 than on the PS5. That don't make sense to me tbh?!

@Voltan Could be, but for me bad tracking / hitdetection is 3/10 initself.

Hit detection problems is a HUGE problem in games like this. Not sure how you could give it 7/10 based on "will be fixed soon" -promise.
I heard the same about "police-logic" in Cyberpunk, and I'm still waiting for that.
Hopefully this game will be patched before I uninstall it then.

@Arnna And it was also proven that the game broke when he did it. He even twitted about it, "a great first step - but not something From would release before ironing out the bugs".
Just check the cape animations on his "jailbreak". Looked like an alphabuild of any AAA game...

Personally I think they should work with Sony to use the Decima engine, just imagine, a Dark Souls-like game from From Software, looking like Death Stranding in terms of graphics and with fluid 60pfs combat. That would be like an electrical nerdgasm to be honest!!! And the physics would make for pretty cool bossfights too.

@theMEGAniggle Yeah, it's weird that with all the money the have been making for the last 10 years they just refuse to spend it on a new gameengine more suited for their needs. But hopefully the success with Elden Ring make them realise their games would greatly improve with a new 60fps gameengine with even better physics.

@Ashina So tired reading comments like this tbh. From Software explained since pretty much on launchday that you can't simply "up the framerate" because all animations and combat is tied to a locked 30 fps! So if you double the framerate, easy peasy, but when the game looks and plays like it's on fastforward.
So, to make the game 60fps or higher they need to "un-tie" the framerate from the rest of the game by redesigning the ENTIRE game from scratch. That's why it''s not been done yet. And that probably why Sony is trying to reboot the game sometime in the future. (Hopefully). So everyone, please stop with comments like '"I hope they release a 60 fps patch" - it's just not that simple if you want to have a playable game too... And this has been stated several times by From Software, so ignoring that is pretty much trolling at this stage...

A little late to suggest what a game releasing in a few months should be like, don't you think @Bobby Houston??!!

Pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe! This look like a perfect Demon Souls/Bloodborne mix. This is the thing I need while waiting for Sony/From to get their thumb out off their butt and make a proper Bloodborne II....

@Powerplay94 I think so too, One SoP for Spiderman 2, One SoP for one or two "onlineservice games" like Last Of Us Factions or whatever it's called these days, and so on. They probably mix larger States Of Play will smaller and trickle out their information that way. That's more in line with how they done things since Mr Ryan took over the lead.
