If it’s the same hack n slash bloated crud as the last few ones, I’m not interested.
Always wanted an Assassins Creed game based in Japan as it would be a great setting for parkour & actual assassinations.
But now, even if Ubisoft did go back to its AC roots, I don’t feel like the gameplay & original combat would have evolved or any effort put into it. I mean AC Mirage had those lazy teleporting kills because they couldn’t be arsed solving how to animate between the kills.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they put Sam Fisher in the game as DLC either.
How many IPs are they sitting on & have barstadised? Tom Clancy would’ve been rolling in his grave a long time ago.
How about a proper Rainbow Six Vegas game? A new Splinter Cell might be coming but I don’t have any faith in the company.
They stopped innovating a long time ago & the top layers of management should be turfed out…especially the morons who tried to push their Quartz NFT crap that no one wanted.
…but hey here’s 9 more Assassins Creed games that have nothing to do with Assassination or what made them great in the first place.
@MrPeanutbutterz agreed, whoever was collating those tunes did know their stuff. But they aren’t a major part of the game & the music is a snapshot of content that has already been produced.
Given the 80’s tracks are so old & most likely aren’t generating the revenue they once did back in the day, having the music on GTA could propel more sales & listens/playlists etc on other platforms.
Maybe for tracks that have been produced & written for the game should get royalties & I do think if a soundtrack is created, everyone should get paid more along with royalties. Maybe newer artists should get more since they haven’t had the opportunity to make much money off their work - controversial opinion probably.
But the game isn’t a music platform. As a user, I’d rather have more tracks than a huge chunk of the budget used up for a small amount of songs.
At the end of the day, an offer was made & the artist doesn’t have to like it or accept it. It could lead on to a better financial outcome overall, but they’ll never know & we won’t hear it in the game, until it comes out on PC & we can play whatever we want.
@Deoxyr1bose well assuming they at least maintain the status quo & license a minimum of 500 songs, that’s $3,500,000 on radio station music alone. Not to mention paying the multiple radio DJs & writers just for this minor part of the game. Don’t forget there is 8 years of dev , writers, artists salaries to pay for (excluding any more delays), the r&d &, other licenses, marketing etc. Sure, it may go on to break records in the future, but there’s a huge cost upfront, along with the risk the publisher will take.
They’re not being played on Spotify or a music service. It’s a subset of a subset of an element in a very large game
Aside from adding PSVR2 support, I think this is the best update so far. Sophy on Nurburgring is amazing. A great road track too And almost an entire roster of decent cars, along with physics updates (I’m hoping translated into FFB improvements too).
Hey Ubisoft, instead of squeezing blood out of a stone, how about a Rainbow Six Vegas remake?
We’ve still got to see anything about the Splinter Cell remake too.
(I was really looking forward to the Splinter Cell VR game, but you dropped that obviously for the Assassins Creed sausage factory).
Also wondering if it’s possible for Ubisoft to create a whole new franchise & gameplay that isn’t following some trend or reskinning the Watchdogs or Far Cry model these days?
@Danloaded yeah I think it’s all the textures of the microtransaction skins they use. Even if you never buy any, they’re all stored so you can see other players that maybe have them. There’s so much bloat in these games. I wish you could just restrict the skins to reflect the era & relevance to the game.
I miss the days when a COD game didn’t have SpongeBob or Rick & Morty characters running around the battlefield.
@Dampsponge yeah that’s what I mentioned in my comment. Not many shadows & the Assassinations looked more like open fights. Not what you’d really expect from a trained Assassin.
I guess like how all current Ubisoft Tom Clancy titles have nothing but Tom Clancy in name, we have to accept the Assassins Creed games have nothing to do with Assassins Creed but the name…and microtransactions.
Always wanted a great Assassins Creed game set in Japan. Thought it would be a great setting for parkour & stealth gameplay.
The cutscenes didn’t really indicate any of that? Is this going to be another open world Golden Axe hack n slash game with RPG elements? Or a proper evolution of what the original Assassins Creed game used to be?
Would really like to have seen how the parkour mechanics could’ve evolved for current gen but they just became an after thought in the last few games.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I vaguely remember the name but don’t think I ever tried it. Been replaying some of the old splinter cells so might have to give that a try too
It just seems to be that any team that eventually gets bought out by a bigger entity (which sometimes even gets bought out or merged with another) is inevitably going to be on the chopping block for some poor decision making by someone at the top of the food order, in order to save themselves for the shareholders.
Maybe AA or Indy & staying that way is the way to go, until they can grow big enough to make their own rules.
These corporate ***** get paid the big bucks to make the big decisions. But when these decisions don’t perform, it’s the poor doers that get punished for it with their jobs.
The worst thing is these are obviously bad decisions to those of us who play games, but these CEO’s are paid to know more than us.
I always think that if CEO’s and the higher execs make these decisions to cut costs, then they should also be taking a huge pay cut & absolving themselves of any bonuses or payouts for the next 5 years. It shows their failure as leaders to perform & an incompetence to come up with the creative solutions they’re paid for. Not just the lazy (cut x percent of staff to save costs or increase profits for the shareholders).
I know it’s not always that simple, but a lot of these measures are just to make the books look good
@Vil I’m not really sure about that. How many games are we already getting with a 30fps ray trace mode or 60fps no ray tracing?
I’m definitely getting one if it means I can run every game at 60fps max settings & PSVR 2 games have reprojection off & graphics closer to the flat screen version.
It’s embarrassing how people will get butt hurt over characters that don’t exist, getting killed, which will still re-appear in other forms of media & story tellings all over again.
The real crime is this game was designed around games as a service from the start. Not every story has to have a happy ending - if it did, games as a service would be the thing getting killed.
Hi hope a lot of these job losses are down to bad or decisions from their corporate leaders to chase trends & push stupid things like NFTs or games as services, instead of being actual leaders & becoming the trends.
It looks like all the actual people that are the meat & potatoes of the company lose their jobs while the incompetent ***** pat themselves with big bonuses & payrises with the money they’ve saved by firing people.
We need some big PSVR2 releases that aren’t multiplayer or zombie shooters. Socom VR would be nice! Also some news from their first parties as well. Maybe PS5 Pro unveiling although I doubt that’ll be until the end of the year
The lack of VR in that game didn’t help, along with the egregious grind or pay up micro transactions on release made it difficult to like.
I loved the first game with the aim controller apart from waiting to get a game. With this one, if I wanted to just press x to interact with everything, I’d play a flat screen game. And there should’ve been a focus on some more singleplayer modes to play when you got sick of waiting.
Lots of potential but this game completely missed the mark for what I wanted in a VR game for me.
Definitely getting if it means we don’t have to use reprojection in PSVR2 games. Would love to have GT7 running with the flat version’s quality settings & reprojection off.
Would also be nice to have the photo mode raytracing working in game as well
@Greenmekon yeah I’ve got this on PC with an RTX 4090 & the graphics are meh, with stutters at the worst possible times. I’ve got a CSL DD Pro wheel & still can’t get it to feel as good as Dirt 2.0 & the WRC series either. @Jammsbro Exactly. Big guys can’t have as good cardio as the smaller guys because of the amount of oxygen required just to keep the muscles active. Cain had great cardio for a Heavyweight, but no where near the best of any fighter. You just admitted that in your argument. Also Cain only had two fights that made it to the 5th round & he wasn’t exactly looking like a spring chicken compared to someone like Max Holloway with a much higher output
@Jammsbro so we know you love Cain. I’ve seen him train, even met him when he came to NZ. Still looking forward to trying it. I just think they may have imposed limits on the game itself & cursed the longevity by making it F2P.
I think they need to open the hardware up to PCVR. I’m almost using my PSVR2 for GT7 (I’ve got a sim rig setup), but also have the Quest 2 with its much bigger library & PC VR library as well.
I’d love a SOCOM game or Rainbow 6 & Splinter Cell VR versions to come out (Ubisoft cancelled a great opportunity there).
Hope this has got manual reloading (way more fun in VR). Finally glad a single player mil VR shooter is coming out. Hopefully this will keep me going until Gunman Contracts is finished
PSVR2 showcase was disappointing for me because most of those games had already been announced & shown off. Still looking forward to Crossfire SS, but really wanted to see a roadmap of unheard of titles.

It’s still way cheaper than a comparatively priced PC.
The good thing is if we don’t like it, we don’t have to buy it.
The PS5 is still there. No need to cry.
I’m just disappointed there’s no Dual Sense controller with Hall effect sensors.

Re: Days Gone Director Roasts 'Small Game' Astro Bot PS5 for Deacon St John Cameo
I enjoyed Days Gone & love Astrobot, but this guy’s a dick.
He tries to ***** on another game that’s paying homage to his. He should know better.
I wouldn’t have minded a Days Gone sequel, but with his attitude, ***** him & ***** that game.
I hope he gets sentenced to making Ubisoft’s formulaic meh for eternity & Astrobot gets all the accolades it deserves.

Re: EA Sports UFC 5 Will Break Noses, Drop Jaws on PS5
@Jammsbro Exactly. Big guys can’t have as good cardio as the smaller guys because of the amount of oxygen required just to keep the muscles active.
Cain had great cardio for a Heavyweight, but no where near the best of any fighter. You just admitted that in your argument.
Also Cain only had two fights that made it to the 5th round & he wasn’t exactly looking like a spring chicken compared to someone like Max Holloway with a much higher output

Of the EA attempts, EA MMA had the best submission game, with UFC 3 coming second. UFC. 3 was the best all round with stamina, balancing & ground game. UFC 2 had the most fun arcade style free flowing combos.
UFC 4 somehow got worse than 3 in almost every way but at least the striking is bareable now
Re: EA Sports UFC 5 Will Break Noses, Drop Jaws on PS5

I guess they do need to look at building a game for the current gen consoles (or next) from the ground up if they want to compete with the new Forza….which Im looking forward to as well
