I mean, your response is kinda why they won’t make a game about ancient African tribes. It’ll be either cry woke or anger about venturing into some history you don’t care for and are ignorant of. I swear, some of you only know of Wakanda when it comes to great African history.

@Gunnerzaurus the Japanese outrage was minuscule compared to the western uproar. And I also see a lot of “If they made a game about African tribes and made a white lead people would be pissed” as a rebuttal. Likely. But they’ll never make such a game. Why? Because the gaming world always pushes back against Black characters and anything associated with such.

You ever notice almost every historical culture has been the forefront of one game or another? With the exception of ancient Africa, of course. Because publishers know it won’t be received well and the craziness it would fuel.

Everything Black is now considered “woke”. Even a game based off historical Black culture would be deemed as such. Hell, I saw a guy rant about the Bad Boys film franchise being “woke”. It’s had 2 Black leads for 30 years but now it’s “woke”. 🤷🏾‍♂️

From the reported excitement about the thought of removing Yasuke kinda proves that this is about that and that alone.

Censorship is bad. But the way some of you droll over these game characters is so weird. Especially since many of them are childlike.

@B0udoir I see a lot of positive comments and discussion around Horizon. Maybe you avoid such discussions because they don’t suit the narrative you want to run with? There’s see people who cosplay Horizon. People who collect the toys. People who are excited at the possibility that there might be a live action series in the works. I know all this just from reading the internet. You likely scroll past these articles.

@AlexPorto you have to understand that most people complain just to complain. You can ask them what kind of game they want and I guarantee that kind of game is already out there for them to play. It’s why I don’t underage gripe about live service. Yes, there are a great many that exist. But there are a ton of great single player games out there. Seems most just complain about what they don’t like instead of enjoying what they do like.

@AdamNovice I agree. You just have to breathe about a live service and people go nuts. The game can be in thought bubble stage and everyone is already denouncing it.

As a fervent player for Elder Scrolls Online I can tell you how much I hated the idea of an online Elder Scrolls game. Now, 10 years in, it’s the only game I play every single day! Horizon has all the right parts for this game to be a success. If don’t right, of course.

Didn’t preorder. But just told my wife to get me one for my birthday (Thanksgiving Day). She agreed. Says it’s all I’m getting for the holidays but I’m totally fine with that.

If anyone is willing to pay that for the console then it’s their business! Who cares if it’s way overprice. If someone is willing to pay it then what’s the problem? This isn’t some life-threatening issue. I’d never pay it. But whoever is willing to do it, by all means...

@tameshiyaku it’s because it’s more believable that a single man can singlehandedly dispatch entire armies. It’s just weird when a woman does it. Like, when Nathan Drake was killing whole squads, it was cool. But when Nadine and Chloe were doing it, it was too unreal. Right?

@Yagami late to the conversation, sorry. Strategy is more so the “planning” side of things. While tactics are more the action that comes from the planning/strategy. They shouldn’t be interchangeable. They’re similar. But not the same.

I didn’t disband, didn’t save Solas, and Cassandra and I fell in love but I remained Inquisitor and she left to join The Chantry. It was a sad goodbye 😢

@GreatAuk you don’t even need to have bought it. As long as you’ve downloaded it you can get the upgrade. They gave it away free during COVID. Even those users can get the $10 upgrade.

@MrMeeeseeeks it’s variety though. Pretty much everything you’ve listed will appeal to someone one way or another. But honestly, gamers will always gripe about whatever’s not there. It’s pretty much always a lose/lose for any company putting these things on.

Eh, no big deal for me one way or another. Still have ESO, Wu Long, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Star Wars Outlaws, Ragnarok, Sly Cooper, Prince Of Persia, Drsgon’s Dogma II, Diablo IV, and the upcoming Dragon Age to play and/or finish. Honestly, I’ve only ever watched 1 of these shows (E3 2018) and it was nothing to me. I was never excited so I’m not disappointed.

@Majin_Deicide the fact that there’s been quite a few remasters of older games as well as some newer ones that don’t need remasters. For instance, the Sly remaster just came out. Many were happy about it, but mostly no one is talking about playing it.

It’s the wave! 180+ games on my console and no clutter in my house. Yes, there are pros and cons. But my statement alone is “pro” enough for me.

I mean, reviews are some guy's opinion. So, it's not like he's telling you to buy or not buy. He's just saying what he thinks. So if he gives it a 5, you take it as what you will. And I'm sure we've all played 9s or 10s that we've hated and some 5s and 6s that we've love. I know I have.

I played Ragnarok. I love Ragnarok! I love the whole series! Now, people who haven't played Ragnarok can play it on PC if they don't own a Playstation. This has affected me in 0 ways. Not sure why releasing a game on another platform makes people angry. Understandably if the other platform is your rival platform. But in this case, it's not.

Also, what's with all the "it diverts resources" BS people spew? Do people really think Sony only has 6 people in the office who work on 1 thing at a time? Like, if they're working on a remaster or a PC port that an exclusive is sitting lonely in the broom closet? Separate teams exist for different projects. This is why, for the 6 years Concord (a new IP. Something people always beg for) was being worked on. We still got a plethora of new games and exclusives.

@trev666 well, there are quite a few reasons why Nintendo doesn’t really get brought into the conversation actually. For one, Nintendo seems to get grouped all by itself and not with PlayStation and Xbox. For instance, most gamers only own two consoles on either a switch and a PlayStation, or a Xbox and a Switch. Very few probably own an Xbox and a PlayStation. I think it’s because the two systems are so similar.

Also, the switch released with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one. So it’s kind of in a different class, in my opinion. And finally, most “hardcore “gamers really don’t just own a Switch. It’s almost like it’s a peripheral next to the other two consoles. Not dissing Nintendo or anything like that. Just an observation.

I’ve never owned an XBOX. Just too similar to PlayStation and not as good as far as games go
