@somnambulance I don't think it would've done great even with a higher review score. LEGO games aren't great. And they're mostly geared toward kids which is why I think Sony allowed Nintendo to have it. Check back in January to see if it is or isn't a flop. Chances are after the holidays I'll be in a much better position sales-wise.

I've never once considered the budget for a video game I've played. I have, however, considered the price. I don't think lower budget will lead to lower retail price so I really DGAF.

@cuttlefishjones yeah, I’m sitting here confused too because I did a comparison running the game on my son’s PS5 vs. my Pro and the Pro looked much better. Textures were immaculate. Maybe their eye is just better trained than mine.

@themightyant I had something similar to that for my purchase. Mother works for Walmart so I get a discount. Got a $209 discount off the full price of $773. Then sold my OG PS5 to my niece for $350. Ended up paying $173 in total for my new Pro. If it weren’t for those discount, I’d have kept my OG.

@thefourfoldroot1 imagine they took away the $5 cash out. Also took away earning points on subscriptions (which is what should earn the most points!). And now points expire. It’s like all they want us to use Stars for is the useless trinkets and collectibles they give away on the app. Pure trash!

People should have pushed back against Sony nuking the 💩 out of PlayStation Stars. But not enough people care about Stars to begin with lol.

Elder Scrolls Online l, Contra: Operation Galuga, and Jedi: Survivor. ✌🏾

@Gunnerzaurus I love mine! Going hard into Jedi: Survivor right now and finally playing in Resolution mode instead of performance.

I love that now the boot from Rest Mode is instantaneous! And loads are better for the games I’ve played so far. For example, ESO has a section in Western Skyrim that loads in 9 seconds on PS4. Went down to 3 seconds on PS5. To less than a second on PS5 Pro. Load times across games haven’t seemed to be much better. But for a game like ESO that isn’t “enhanced” there seems to be some improvement.

Ultimately, if I had to pay full price for the thing, I wouldn’t have gotten it. I’m just being honest. However, the fact that I was able to get a huge discount on the machine as well as sell my PS five to get it. Those were great selling points for me. Overall, I love the thing and I’m very happy with my purchase!

I'm just here waiting on an ESO PS5 Pro update. Although, it truly is a PS4 game at heart so I don't know how much better it can run.

@Shad361 Sequels selling less that the first game isn't really a surprise. Happens all the time. Especially for new IPs. Supposedly (per a twitter post) 80% of the sales didn't come from the bundles. So 1.7million of that 8.5 million can be attributed to the bundles. Even after going up against the heavyweight that is Elden Ring I'd say Horizon has done pretty well.

@riceNpea unfortunate what happened to Carano. But she'd not get a lead role in a production such as this anyway. They tried her a few times as a lead and it just doesn't work. Although, I'd love to see her back on TV and film.

Forbidden West sold 8.5 million copies and people act like it flopped. I’ve been stuck on Elder Scrolls Online nearly a decade and I would love for a new MMO to take my time. I’m looking forward to this. Won’t judge it till I play it. I hated ESO for the longest time and then got into it and it’s the only games I’ve played consistently for 8 years.

Honestly can’t name an MS series I’m pining for. Just never took to the console. Once was a Nintendo die hard and now I only play PlayStation. Owned XBOX for a short while and it never drew me in.

After looking over at Metacritic it’s funny to me how vastly different people’s opinions seem to be on this game. 20 reviews give it an 8 or 9. 23 give it a 5 or 7. And 2 reviews gave it a 4. I guess it’s just gonna be divisive. Like ever other Horizon game lol.

@sanderson72 was my first LEGO game actually. I’m a huge Star Wars fan. They’re just not fun to me. The whole premise and gameplay is off putting.

LEGO games are crappy. No surprise here. As much as I love Horizon, I’d planned to make this my first Horizon skip.

To be honest, the only Metal Gear I’ve ever liked is the original NES game. All subsequent games bored me to no end.

I moved my Pro from the living room TV to the HDR TV in my bedroom. Booted up Jedi: Survivor and even my wife who says it all looks the same was able to comment on how much better it looks.

At the risk of sounding like a real a-hole capitalist here, I must say. I have only 1 problem with scalping. The fact that they corner the market and make it hard for others to get the console. Hate that. But when they upsell and some clown wants to pay double. That’s on the clown, not the scalper.

Threw out all my extra Ethernet cables because I had no use for them. 2 months later here I am doing this transfer. Would’ve been 13 minutes on Ethernet. 3h 6m via WiFi. 😫

@JohnKarnes Similar to what I did. Bought my with a 10% discount and got it for $673. Sold my PS5 to my niece for $350. And got an update from Walmart that they'll have to ship mine out so they bumped $25 off the price. Around $300 net for my console.

Works out great because my niece was gonna buy a PS5 anyway. She'd have paid $400 for a base model. With mine, she gets 2 controllers, an upgraded 2TB SSD, and I let her keep my profile on the unit so she can play some of my games when she wants. Saved us both some cash.

@themightyant same with me and my backlog. I have God Of War, Jedi: Survivor, Wu Long, Dragon's Dogma 2, Star Wars: Outlaws, Prince Of Persia, etc. in my backlog. My wife is like "Why do you buy new games when all you're gonna do is play ESO?!" But it's mainly because my son is also a gamer and my PSN is on his PS5 as a second console. Wasn't for that, I'd probably not have bought any of those games.

I know this is a Sony site. But I'll de damned if Nintendo isn't the worst when it comes to most things in gaming. No price decreases, lawsuits galore, and no new and exciting IPs in the last 25 years (personal opinion).
