Re: Reaction: What Is Happening to the Video Games Industry and Why Are There So Many Layoffs?

Cloud39472

@UltimateOtaku91 Right? Gaming has been the best it's ever been for me these past couple years. I've found myself completely overwhelmed with great games and I'm struggling to keep up.

I still haven't played infinite wealth or Granblue Fantasy yet because I've been busy with Persona 3 and FF7 Rebirth which are also incredible and Dragons Dogma 2 soon as well? Holy hell games are good right now.

I've never really understood the "no good games anymore" argument. Maybe they don't play Japanese games? 🤔

Re: Trails through Daybreak Stream Will Showcase First English Gameplay Next Week

Cloud39472

@GilgaMax96 The same way a whole bunch of people have steam libraries full of games they've never played. They were cheap so I bought all of them as I kept hearing they were so great in Jrpg circles. Not really hard to understand is it?

But yes based on what others said, the series may not be for me but I also expressed my willingness to try if better games stop taking up my time.

You come across like I offended you or something. Should I apologise?

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Becomes the Second Highest-Rated Final Fantasy Game of All Time

Cloud39472

The original FF7 has been and always will be my number 1 game and I'm so glad to see that rebirth has been recieved so well and even rates slightly higher than the original. More Cloud and Co is all I need to love it.

In regards to complaints about side quests for this and FF16, I feel JRPG's in general are far behind games like Witcher and Elder Scrolls etc. Doesn't mean that can't and shouldn't change but I honestly can't think of a JRPG with actual good side quests.

Re: Could SMT 5: Vengeance Be the Long-Awaited PS5, PS4 Port?

Cloud39472

@McBurn Oh man do I agree with that so much. Especially when considering that most Persona protagonists clearly have an already defined personality underneath the silent treatment. P3, P4 and P5's MC's are very clearly not "me" so might as well go all the way and just voice them.

Even Digital Devil Sagas main character wasn't voiced, I just don't get it.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Persona 3 Reload?

Cloud39472

Reload is essentially Fes but without The Answer (the answer was so incredibly boring anyway.) so I would still consider this the definitive P3. I hope they add an improved Answer and FeMC in the future though.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 Demo All But Confirmed for Next Week

Cloud39472

Moving goal posts how? That wasn't all you stated, you literally said that FF16 was a flop and I asked for proof and only recieved proof for the 3rd thing I asked of which was Square Enix's financial struggles.

Yes FF7 needs to succeed but I see no reason why it shouldn't so why is this even a discussion? Why so much drama? A business is heavily promoting their product because they want it to sell, big surprise.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 Demo All But Confirmed for Next Week

Cloud39472

@Ray_Ray_Regasis Again, as much as that article tries to claim otherwise by stating "mixed reviews" despite reviews being overall very positive. FF16 had nothing to do with the 2 billion loss. Even in this article it states multiple factors including mobile games and big flops like Forspoken.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasy/comments/16hdajl/square_enix_loses_2_billion_in_value_after_ff16/

People on reddit can explain it better than me. If you truly want to understand the situation of course. I've seen your comment history though and how you feel about FF16 so I'm sure you'd like to continue believing it's a failure.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 Demo All But Confirmed for Next Week

Cloud39472

@Matroska Did you read the article? FF16 couldn't make up for the losses of flops like forspoken and marvels avengers. The 2 billion has nothing to do with FF16 itself.

They've stated that they're satisfied with FF16's sales which is rare for Square who consider pretty much everything a failure.

Square Enix (idiots that they are) were hoping FF16 would sell so much that it would help pull them out of a hole dug by the likes of Forspoken, Avengers, Triangle Strategy, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Elysium and all the other underbaked games they churned out.

Of course though even a mainline FF title can't do that much heavy lifting so FF7 and FF14 will help do the trick.

However FF16 was NOT part of the losses, it's a part of the recovery.
Of course though, there will always be people who want to belive otherwise because it's an entry they didn't personally enjoy but sorry FF16 was succesful.

Re: A Final Fantasy 6 Remake Would Take 20 Years to Make, Says Square Enix Producer

Cloud39472

I keep on seeing the idea thrown around that FF7 remake would've been better off if it was remade 1:1 but this isn't true for one simple reason.

Look at the Shadow Of Colossus remake or the Demons Souls remake. Who still talks about these games? Exactly... No one. I'm not saying that the 2 remakes I mentioned are bad, far from it but they are played, enjoyed and then mostly forgotten.

By splitting the FF7 remake into multiple games that have expanded and transformed FF7 into its own series, they've guaranteed that people will still be talking about FF7 for decades more to come. I'm glad they've done it the way they have, means more Cloud and Co to enjoy and makes the discussion around it more exciting.

Where FF6 is concerned, I don't really care if they remake it or not or how they do it but 20 years sounds dumb as hell.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's New Patch Aiming to Release Next Week

Cloud39472

It's about damn time this patch released. They release an "ultimate edition" with bugs because once again, they rushed the release to get it out before Christmas. CDPR clearly never learnt their lesson. The constant praise they recieve is undeserved IMO even if I do love Cyberpunk to death.
