Why do they always reduce the amount of fog? I swear it was thicker back in the original or am I crazy?

I was hyped for this game when it was first announced and then steadily lost more and more interest over time. I don't think I'll be getting this one.

Atlus really don't care about Female leads huh? It's a shame and very disappointing.

I wasn't much of a fan of The Answer and was hoping the Remake would improve it but considering that's not the case, I think I'll pass on this one.

It's been a roller coaster following this game but I'm totally sold now! Also Morrigan looking better than ever!

I loved playing as Evie Frye in Syndicate and Naoe is giving me similar vibes. Really looking forward to it!

I was just thinking about this yesterday. FF13 is the only mainline game not playable on PS5 (not counting 11) sort it out Square! Remake, remaster, I don't care just make it happen!

Very well deserved. Even considering that Act 3 feels a bit patched together, it's still a far superior offering of truly fantastic content compared to most games. If Act 3 still included the cut upper city of Baldurs Gate, it would've been insane.

The older I get the more I hope that I don't like any of the new games announced so I don't have to worry about not having enough time to actually play them all. So for me personally, I hope all the new games announced don't appeal to me so I can continue catching up with my ever growing backlog of games!

I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be hard not to compare it to BG3 as I've been playing that religiously for the past month and will probably just about be done with it by the time this comes out.

@neillaw The original was full of cheesy charm so not a dealbreaker for me and to each their own I guess. Remakes battle system is one of the best in the series history and I really hope they adopt it for future mainline entries.

If you feel this strongly about it then I don't understand why you would bother playing it at all?

@J2theEzzo The problem for me is that a lot of the fans that dislike the Remakes claim that it's utter trash which makes it hard for me to see someone like that as a fan if they can't find at least some enjoyment in what Remake/Rebirth has to offer. The parts that make them hate it so much are quite literally 5% of the overall content afterall.

I would have loved a 1:1 Remake if that's what they did but now that I've seen the results of the Remake project, if I had to choose between a standard remake and what we have then I would choose the latter every single time.

I know you weren't talking to me but FF is probably my favourite thing to talk about so couldn't help but chime in.

@tameshiyaku Yeah, it's annoying too because a lot of it just comes down to entitlement. These are the original creators but fans seem to think that they deserve input in the creative process or think they know better.

I'm glad that they decided to take risks and expand the story and characters because so far (imo) they've been knocking it out of the park and I'm sure part 3 is going to be phenomenal.

@Flaming_Kaiser You're complaining that it's taking too long and that they ruined it but you're going to buy it when a "complete edition" comes out? Just save your money and time and just let it go maybe?

@Keyblade-Dan Is it still fanfiction when it's made by the original developers? Doesn't really make sense given the context. Besides don't you like KH? Thought the stuff happening in Rebirth would totally be your jam.

I think though that people are missing the point as to why all this timebending stuff is happening in the story at all in the first place. It only exists to give each part an actual final boss. Fighting the robot on the bridge would've been incredibly boring for part 1 and Jenova at the end of part 2 would also have been lackluster without Time Sephiroth spicing it up a bit.

@jrt87 I hear you. I hated the minigames that LAD:Infinite Wealth forced me to play and it distracted from the story way too many times.

Did you play the original 7? Basically any of the minigames that were part of the story in that still are so if you didn't like those then it'll basically be the same thing.

@jrt87 If you just want to go through the story then you can do that. A lot of people don't realize how many minigames can actually be skipped. I've seen a lot of people complain about being forced to play the Queensblood tournament but you can literally go to the front desk and opt out.

So I think a lot of the complaints come from people who seriously don't know what they're talking about or don't realise it's their own problem if they feel compelled to beat absolutely everything.

@Gaia093 It's even more frustrating when you consider that the mandatory mini games like Dolphin and Junon Parade were also mandatory in the original game too.

I'm sure in part 3 people are going to be annoyed about snowboarding as well.

Always happy to see KH selling well. Hopefully the move to multi-plat has the same outcome for FF too.

@Flaming_Kaiser All of that is very subjective and doesn't make it "better" than anything that came before it. At least not for me anyway. Guiding winds is the only thing mentioned that is different and even that is just like following a waypoint in any other game.

I already know what happens so I don't really see the point in getting it again.

Ghost of Tsushima was great but it also suffered from a lot of the same problems as other open world games and I've never understood what it apparently did so much better.

Certainly no P.T but it was OK. Definitely not the worst thing ever, especially considering it was free.

I hate silent protagonists when done poorly like Persona 3, 4 and 5 and Dragon Quest 11 where they don't even react emotionally they just nod like 😶.

But there are games where it works, in Crpgs like Baldurs Gate where it allows for more unspoken dialogue options and such.

The style looks really nice and definitely has that Bleach feel but I'm not sold on the gameplay yet. Anime games are extremely hit and miss these days.

Rebirth in at number 1 where it belongs. 😎

@Ryne-Gaia Lol most definitely. I didn't even say I don't like IW, just that it was disappointing but apparently that was all it took!

@Carck If you're only 10 hours into IW, your opinion might change. I think it's a good game but I found it incredibly slow and the story really didn't pay off. I just expected better after Yakuza 0,Yakuza 7, Gaiden, Judgement and Lost judgement which were all fantastic.

I do hope you continue to enjoy it more than I did though

Infinite Wealth was extremely disappointing so hopefully it's better than that! Even a disappointing Yakuza title is still at least a 7/10 though.

I think review bombing is pathetic but I do think the DLC has some issues that people ignore because it's Elden Ring. The lands of Shadow is incredibly empty in the southern part of the map. No dungeons, bad loot, a handful of enemies and a few world bosses, it's pitiful.

Metaphor Rephantazio, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Quest and Dragon Age for me!

Slitterhead was probably the biggest disappointment for me.

@LikelySatan Yeah, I think they mean that due to the time limit, you won't be able to see everything in one run which is incredibly disappointing. I'm not necessarily a one and done type guy but I do like to get to as close to 100% as possible on my first playthrough so this is sad news.

Unless the game is only like 30 hours long or something but I doubt it. Atlus and their final super duper complete editions are definitely taking their toll as well. I hope Atlus learns their lesson eventually, their games are profitable enough now that they really can't justify pulling stunts like that anymore.

This is pretty disappointing, I don't have the time to replay a 100+ hour game 2-3 times to see all of it's content.

Everyone knows the right way to play the game is Bare handed, level 1, no armor, no healing, no dodging (because dodging is OP) no blocking, no Co-op, no Ashes, hands tied behind your back and blindfolded otherwise you're just another filthy casual.

So disappointed in you Miyazaki.

Analysts have been saying this for years and haven't been right so far so... I don't really care. By that point, I'll have so many games that I can just replay them all till I die anyway.

1 million seems low but hey, if its within budget and it turned a profit? Then congrats to shiftup and I look forward to what they do next. Maybe just hire some better writers

@PuppetMaster That's fair. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the main reason you should be playing games is for fun. Plain and simple. If the only positive aspect of a game is that it feels rewarding then I don't think that's a good thing.

I don't play Elden Ring to feel accomplished. I play it to have fun and the achievement of beating a hard boss is just a sidenote to me. Honestly most of the time I just feel relief after beating a hard boss 😅

I feel like the people mentioning a sense of accomplishment are missing something in their lives. You shouldn't need a video game to feel accomplished especially because it's a false sense of achievement. Beating a video game isn't really something you can brag about to anyone.

It depends. I do think FromSoft are going to hit a wall at some point, you can only make a game so hard yknow? I didn't like Nioh because it was too hard for me but I don't think it was a bad game, I just didn't have the patience to put in the amount of practice it wants me to. I just don't have that sort of time anymore.

I've been playing Souls games for nearly 15 years so I'm familiar enough with the games themselves that I've never reached that point of feeling like I'm wasting my time but with some brutally hard games, it can certainly feel that way and I imagine it feels that way for some who try Elden Ring for the first time too.

Do I think these games should have an easy mode though? No. I think the games are fine as they are. Some games just aren't for everyone and besides Elden Ring has an easy mode.
