@Dusk_Actual I played the game for a good 3-4 hours last night with my kid and we both quite enjoyed it. I can see where combat might get a little stale as it's kind of clunky, but if you enjoy the character and the art style it's well worth the $20 IMHO. And it's not that hard either. Just keep holding the lock-on button when you hit or dodge and it's a piece of cake. Again, definitely fun and worth the $$ in my opinion, but everyone's tastes differ so......???
I'm a big fan of the comics so for $20 I couldn't resist and picked this up. From what very little I've played so far it's pretty fun and the art style is absolutely bang on to Mike Mignola's work.
There’s a lot already out and soon to be coming out that I want to play but I just can’t justify full price for games anymore when so many release in such sorry shape. That said, I’m going back and working on getting 100% on some of the older Call Of Duty games on PS3. Right now I’m on Black Ops 2 and World At War.
@DonkeyFantasy EXACTLY how I felt and still feel about this game. I have never been so ticked off about a game, as I was about the horrible, terrible, stinking, festering dumpster fire that was BF2042 at launch. And that was after they had basically pulled the same stunt with BFV. I’m not sure I will ever buy another BF game again even despite how much I like them when they’re in good running shape.
Gotham Knights is so much better than many of the games ranked higher than it. I get that it was underwhelming but it just wasn’t as bad as it gets a rep for being.
And IMHO Arkham Knight was the consummate Batman game. It did everything its predecessors did only better, with the one exception of (maybe) the story, to which I’d give that nod to Arkham City.
Playing a bunch of Call Of Duty, actually. Between the incredibly underwhelming MW3 beta, which is essentially a re-skin of MW2’s MP (terrible weapon progression system and all!), I’m also going back and playing the zombies DLC for Black Ops 2 & World At War on my PS3. Really having a good time w that but WaW is making me remember how much more difficult and stripped down the early zombie DLC’s were!
@JimRyansReplacement Thanks man! I doubt I will do Trepang2. The game is right up my alley but everything I’ve read about the difficulty on the platinum is a hard pass. It’s apparently extremely difficult and at this point in my life I game for enjoyment and a MODERATE challenge. Not for a hair-pulling, TV-cursing, rage-inducing one. 😉🤣🤣🤣
Bloody hell.............would it kill them to put the COD season passes on sale? I've had the SP for Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare on my wishlist for what seems ike forever and they NEVER go on sale. I really don't want to pay $50 for each of them....
Honestly, Callisto Protocol is a great selection for October. Perfect fit for the month of Halloween and an overall solid game, if not quite what I was hoping for. I already have it but for any who don’t and enjoy survival horror it’s a good game for the ‘price’.
I’ve gone back to my PS3 and I’m working through the DLC for COD: Black Ops to get 100% completion on the trophy stack. Just have 2 more trophies to go on ‘Moon’. 💪🏽👍🏽
@Northern_munkey Good stuff and thanks for the info! Sekiro is the hardest From Soft game by far, IMHO so comparing it against that gives me a good idea of how difficult it is. I’m not that great w defensive styles like parrying and prefer more aggressive styles like Bloodborne but I do enjoy this genre of game immensely so I might just give this a shot once it’s on sale. Just far too many games coming out that I want to play and on top of a sizable backlog as it is. Thanks again!
@Northern_munkey That's encouraging to hear. Many of the reviews I've read have stated that some of the bosses are INCREDIBLY difficult, to the point of frustration, but there's also no accounting for everyone's skill level. That said, how far along are you in the game? I've played every 'Soulsborne' From Software has done and quite a few others in the genre as well, but like I said, at this point, I'm just NOT up for a frustrating experience.....
I thoroughly enjoy these types of games and may give it a shot at some point, but right now what's putting me off about it is the steep difficulty curve that gets thrown at you at points and for some of the bosses. I'm not up for that level of frustration when I'm trying to relax and enjoy some recreation. Steelrising was a great example of a Soulsborne-type game that gets the difficulty aspect right but is still challenging and good fun, IMHO.
I’ve had my eye on this for sometime and, provided it reviews well by both critics and the general player base, I will be picking this up at some point. Also glad to hear it’s getting a physical release as I’m ‘old school’ with stuff like that and prefer physical copies over digital.
After the launch debacle Atomic Heart had with its’ trophies, I’m glad to see this being addressed BEFORE the game launches. I’m a hardcore trophy hunter and nothing ticks me off more than broken trophies, especially at launch!
I really like what they’re doing with the character designs. Even Kraven looks excellent. This series is for Marvel’s character designs what the Arkham series was for DC’s.
Normally I’d at least put a title like Saints Row in my library just in case I ever had the inclination to play it but in protest of the price hike on the PSN service and the garbage selection of games this month I’m not going to put ANY of these games in my library.
The only Day 1 games for me this year have been Dead Space and Remnant 2. COD: MW III will be a day one title as well but if anything else has a chance to be a Day 1 title as well, it's Lords Of The Fallen. My only hesitation is, as good as it looks and as much positivity as has been thrown at it by reviewers who've played a little of it so far, I've been burned too many times pre-ordering a game or buying it on Day 1 not to be sceptical now. I'm looking at you BF 2042 & Callisto Protocol....
I’m playing this game currently and it’s definitely not as bad as a ‘3/10’. It’s not great, but it’s not bad either. Somewhere around a 6-7 is about right for this and I say this as someone who played every Soulsborne title FromSoft has made and quite a few Souls-likes as well.
I enjoy COD quite a bit and will likely get this around launch. But considering what’s on offer there’s little doubt in my mind this was planned as a DLC from the get-go and $70 is a seriously steep asking price for that. I have the disposable income for something like this but for others who don’t? Bit of a rip-off if you ask me. At least it certainly feels that way right now. Maybe the final product won’t be but I doubt it all things considered.
I popped the platinum on Remnant 2 last night but that’s not slowing me down with that incredible game. After 117 hours with it, I’m still finding new dungeons, secrets, rings, weapons and amulets. It’s crazy how much the devs have packed into that game! I’m also splitting time between that and the original as I never completed the trophies for survival mode in REMNANT: From The Ashes.
Sounds very promising and what visuals I’ve seen look nothing short of amazing. Looking forward to the reviews when it comes out as this sounds like a great title to play in October.

Re: Skipping RoboCop: Rogue City on PS5? You're Going to Need a New Plan
This looks like the exact kind of title I’ll pick up when it’s on sale and I don’t have much else to play

I’m really looking forward to playing this at some point. Game looks amazing and the dual world mechanic seems quite interesting.
Re: Rumour: PS5's Early 2024 Release Schedule May Get Even More Ridiculous Thanks to Elden Ring
If Shadow Of The Erd Tree were to launch in February that would EASILY be my number one game to buy over everything else.

Re: Secret PS5 Firmware Update Feature Spotlights Your Wall of Shame
I’m not so sure this thing is tracking my time correctly. It says my top 3 are:
Nioh - 394 hrs
COD Black Ops III - 367 hrs
The Evil Within - 362 hrs
Nioh and BLOPS 3 seem legit but even with the DLC I don’t feel like I spent that much time in TEW???
And when I’m the heck are we gonna see an update that brings back customizable backgrounds?!?!?!

Re: Scorn, the Most Repulsive Game Ever Made, Comes to PS5 in October
I’ll likely check this out when it :
A) Comes to PS+ Extra
OR
B) Shows up in the ‘Games Under $15’ sale
I could **MAYBE** do $20 but from what I’ve heard it might not be even worth that much
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer Beta Dates Have Been Revealed
I enjoy COD so I’m looking forward to checking out the remade MW2 maps.

Whatever. Enough with the teasing. Just give us the details already, Activision, before someone else does.
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Officially Announced, Launches This November
I'm in. Not even gonna lie or complain. I enjoy COD games and particularly the 'Warfare' series games moreso than the Black Ops ones.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 488
@FromSoftwareFan Steelrising is a fantastic game. One of the better Souls-likes out there. You’ll quite enjoy it I think!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 488
Still crushing Remnant 2 and loving every minute of it despite some trophy glitches and unbalanced moments.
