@AgentGuapo I actually did. I platinumed the remaster on PS4 and didn’t mind it as much. Part of it was that I REALLY enjoyed the MP. That broke it up a bit for me in between playthroughs of the story. Part of the problem with 2 was once you knew the whole story it lost a lot of it’s appeal the second time around and wasn’t nearly as fun to play through that incredibly LOOOOOONG slog.
I FINALLY upgraded to PS+ Extra so I downloaded Stray, Horizon Forbidden West and The Surge 2. I’m starting with Stray which I’m halfway through right now. It’s an interesting curiosity of a game for sure.
Definitely a good pickup for $9.95. If I had paid full price I might have thought otherwise. Game was WAAAAAY too long for it's own good but definitely well-written and entertaining for the first solid playthrough. The second playthrough for platinum felt a little like a chore though.
Not sure what to think of this other than it looks like Anthem crossed with Dino Crisis. This is the kind of title that could easily end up being either utter one-trick-pony trash or absolutely bonkers fun. I will be interested to see how it turns out......
I don’t understand why they don’t slash prices to the bone on them and see what money they can recoup. I mean, something is better than nothing, right?
I’m playing through Scars Above this weekend. It’s DEFINITELY a B-grade budget title, but it’s not without some fun. Not worth $40 tho as it’s short and, again, nothing special but maybe worth $20 or less when it hits a sale or the price comes down.
@R_Ryder Good to know. I enjoy this site but the ridiculous amount of activism in the comments is insane. Like people REALLY think they’re going to change someone else’s mind with a comment section post? Wake up.
I started playing Scars Above last night and it’s a decent enough game as far as I can tell. It’s DEFINITELY a budget title and there’s a certain level of jank to it, but I’m having fun with it so far after only putting a few hours into it.
Can't speak to it's current state, and I will never, EVER put that game in my PS5 again, but BF 2042 was utterly broken at launch to the point of being rage-inducing, and was the most frustrating, unenjoyable, horrendous experience I've ever had playing a videogame in over 14 years of playing!
Shame that reviews are largely bad for this game as it's been on my radar for a good while and I was looking forward to it. Especially after Atomic Heart bombed so badly. But, I need something to play for a little while and I'm a sucker for shooters and sci-fi stuff so, I guess I'll gve this a whirl since I still have a $50 gift card leftover from Christmas.
Honestly? The DLC was FAR more fun to play than to watch an entire episode of TV made out of it. Certainly worth seeing how Ellie got infected but to spend an entire hour on the story when there's still a lot of content to cover and only 2 episodes left to do it in? They could have condensed it down a bit for story purposes.
Just finished my first ever playthrough of TLOU 2. Not so sure why it was SO divisive. I understand a lot of people didn't like the ........'main plot point'... towards the beginning of the game that essentially drove the rest of the story, but to me it was logically sound, fit the narrative & the world the story was told in and was a nice twist. I just don't get why everyone seemed to raaaave about the game. I'd agree the first one (including the EXCELLENT MP) was a '10/10', but in no way shape or form was part 2 a '10/10'. More like an 8.5/10 at absolute best (at least IMHO). Overall I liked the game and the storytelling was largely quite good, but there were definitely a few things that could have been done better. I liked splitting the story between Ellie and Abby and thought that was a great idea, effective, and really drove the point home that there are no 'good guys & bad guys', but everyone is morally grey. But WOWWWWW was the story waaaaayyyy too long!! They should have really trimmed it down a good bit. The pacing felt a bit off at times with some of the slower narrative sections. And what in the heck was with Abby's massive man-like arms?? I mean, even the game itself sort of joked about that at one point. Anyway, I could go on about the game, but suffice it to say I'm glad I played it, mostly enjoyed it, but I'll also be glad when I'm done with the second partial playthrough for platinum.
BF 2042 can get bent!! That is EASILY, far & away the worst gaming experience I have ever had! And I say that with over 240 games (almost all of which are are platinumed or 100%) on my account over the past 13 years or so. I can’t hate that game enough and more so Dice / EA for what they’ve done w the BF series over the past 2 or 3 releases. This game isn’t even worth the price tag of ‘FREE’. And I’m off my soapbox…….
I will say though Ghostwire and RS: Extraction were a LOT of fun and Fenyx Rising was a good time too. Actually, I REALLY enjoyed RS: Extraction- surprisingly good, fun title! All in all, a pretty solid month if you have the Extra tier……..except for that one stinking turd they had to sneak in there for Essential.
Not really blown away by anything shown. I had been looking forward to Suicide Squad but knowing it’s a 4-player co-op live service game is really taking the shine out of it. Even if Rockstar games is making it. And nothing else really grabbed me - not even RE4 for some reason even though I dig the RE series.🤷🏽🤷🏽
I'm a huge FPS fan and I love a good stylistic game. That said though, I'll be waiting for a sale on this as there's either too much coming out soon or games that are already out that I want to play. Besides, with the criticisms levelled against it by both professional reviewers and the player base, I can't justify $70 for it. But I'll definitely get to it at some point.
With other scores being higher and this being lower I’d have to guess it’s somewhere in the middle and say it’s probably around. 7 or 7.5, as that’s the way it seems to turn out for me, personally. I’ll give it a go when it’s on sale or there’s a price drop, for sure. I’ve had my eye on this for some time and I do really want to play it eventually.
Playing through The Last Of Us Part II for the first time to see what all the fuss was about and since I’m watching the TV show as well. Besides, $9.59 is a darn good deal 😉💪🏽 So far it’s pretty good and I like the ‘big shocker’ towards the beginning of the story. Makes sense for the world the characters live in and I know why they did it as I already know the broad strokes of the plot. I’ll be interested to see how the rest of the game shapes up…..
I’m just playing through TLOU 2 now for the first time and I don’t really have any issues with where they’re taking the story. It seems like a natural progression for that game world, especially considering how violent and factional it is. That said, I can understand some people not liking what they did, but to lose all sense of reality and forget it’s just a game …….. WOW. People like that are truly under the control of the devil as clearly evidenced by the blind hate in their hearts.
I’ve been looking forward to this and I’m certainly considering getting one but………. that price!!! Plus, there’s not too many games out for it yet that make me REALLY want one. Maybe by the end of this Summer or come the holidays I can justify it and (more importantly) have the cash for one saved up.
You had me at ‘a captivatingly crap game’. LOLOLOLOL 😅😂🤣
With far too much that’s out or soon to come out that I’m interested in I don’t see myself ever playing this until I have NOTHING else to play, but this sounds like exactly the type of bargain bin title I’d go for on a $20 or under sale.
As a dedicated trophy hunter I have to say this list looks fun w/ the one exception of a trophy for completing the game on hardcore mode. I get a bit tired of games doing this, depending on the criteria for ‘hardcore’. If it’s just a standard play through but on a harder setting that’s one thing, but if it’s a permadeath mode, very limited saves or something like Wolfenstein 2’s ‘Mein Leiben’ trophy, it’s one of the most un-fun types of trophies IMHO. Something like the aforementioned ’Mein Leiben’ will put me off a game altogether and cause me to skip it. Just too much else out there to play. Here’s to hoping it’s nothing too crazy.
@playstation1995 Absolutely LOVE Vanquish and I agree with you about the gameplay! One of the most fun and underrated games of the PS3 era. Also the toughest platinum I ever got. Harder than any game on my profile by a country mile simply because of that one trophy - ‘Tactical Challenger’. BRRRRUUUUUTAL!!!!
Gotta say, I just love all the armchair politicians in this thread. Like ANY of us know what's REALLY going on between Russia and Ukraine. We know exactly and only what our respective governments and their propaganda arms (IE the media) feed us. Sure, war is bad and nothing I condone, but the truth of what's really going on over there isn't known by the average person. We all just 'see what we want to see'. Don't let something as crappy as politics ruin your entertainment experience. If all of us only listened to musicians we agreed with, and watched film and TV done by people we agree with, etc. etc., we'd have almost no content to enjoy. Just enjoy what you want and let the rest of it all sort itself out.
Wow, if true, that's kind of sad. I mean, I enjoy COD as much as the next person and have played the current iteration to the point of boredom with it, having maxed out my level and all guns. But considering the wealth of quality titles on Playstation (God Of War as just ONE example), you'd think their exclusives would be the primary buying driver. Oh well, no accounting for taste I guess.....
@Grimwood Not sure you're thinking that though correctly. Game prices ALWAYS decrease over time. As just one example, TLOU pt. 2 was $59.99 MSRP when it released and now is $39.99 MSRP. Publishers don't expect games to hold their initial MSRP over time. Ever. Some may have a stronger shelf-life to their initial MSRP (COD titles are a good example), but ALL will come down in price the longer they are out. Another example? Bloodborne. Initial MSRP was $59.99, now it's $19.99. Jus' sayin'....... Besides, I was referring to a sale price so I'm not entirely sure where your comment came from?
Nothing on my wishlist is on sale, though, admittedly, the vast majority of it is games that have yet to release. Still, I'm hoping The Last Of Us part 2 goes back on sale for $9.99. I didn't pull the trigger on it when I saw it at that price a sale or two ago and I knew I should have. :-/

DEAD SPACE. (severed) hands down! And I know it's WAAAAY early, but it may even end up being my GOTY depending on how good Atomic Heart, Remnant 2 and **possibly** one or two others I have my eye on end up being.

I won't pre-order it no matter how good it looks as I've been burned by that far too many times, but I defnitely have some $$ waiting in the wings to be spent on this should it review well; especially by the players - not necessarily by the critics.
