I was really enjoying this for the 7 hours I put into it, and then I ran into a gamebreaking bug whose apparent only fix is to start completely over. I'm not inclined to do so at the moment, so I guess I'll just move on o something else.
Although I've enjoyed every Yakuza/Like a Dragon game I've played, Infinite Wealth is the only one I've completed. I really need to go back and try another run on some of the older games. I just usually hit a point before the end where I'm burned out.
I once emailed Spiders to tell them how much I appreciated the heart and soul they put into their games and got a personal response back from producer and cofounder Jehanne Rousseau that was full of gratitude. Their games aren't AAA and never perfect, but I respect the developers and wish them the best in this.
It really needs a remaster, even something along the lines of the recent Bounty Hunter. The controls are godawful and stopped me from ever finishing this originally. Character models could use a little sprucing up too.
My big releases for the rest of the year are SW Outlaws, LiS Double Exposure, Astro Bot and Metaphor. I'm also still hholding out hope for Bloodlines 2 and am curious about Funko Fusion.
I enjoyed the first game even though I know nothing about the anime/manga. I may check this out, though it does really look exactly like the previous entry.
@Mustoe Before the Storm and True Colors (which brought tears to my eyes at the climax, a rarity for a video game) were both excellent. 2 was fine. Not bad at all, but it didn't hit me in the feels the same way as the others, and the episodes dragged a bit.
Why wouldn't you want to show your new game off on the current gen console? I'm sure the only real difference is resolution and maybe frame rate but still, wild.
@Stickleman I upgraded my PS Plus Essential version around 6 pm last night. It was a bug in the storefront that wasn't allowing the upgrade at first. If you own it, whether or not you purchased it, you should be able to upgrade at this point.
I thought 2 was great. Legion was an interesting on-paper idea that shouldn't have made it into production as it was. It was okay just sticking to the main mission and doing a quick run-through, but the lack of a solid story or interesting protags, along with the awkward generated dialogue and voices, made it a boring slog for the most part. I like the universe it set up, so I'm a little sad to see it go.
I gave Immortals a rent and it got really old really quick, so I won't be going back. Skul isn't really my type of game. That leaves Minecraft Legends, which I guess I'll give a shot. Overall not a great month for me. Maybe next time.
The beta was both much better than I expected and pretty boring. I may screw around with it a little more after some patches and a big price drop, because pirates.
It was the repetition that killed it for me. I had fun for a couple of hours and then it wore off and crashed hard, and there was no great story or likable characters to fall back on. It also felt like a budget game with a AAA price tag.
@Matroska Yeah, I finished off the Granblue main story in about 15 hours, and that's all I'm going to do with it. Fun combat and character designs, but not worth the absolute grind it would be to get to the true ending. The story was weak as it was.
I have a soft spot for Spiders games, so I'm looking forward to trying Steelrising, especially after learning it has difficulty settings unlike most Soulslikes. The other two I'll give an obligatory try but don't really have any interest.
@Deoxyr1bose A niche game with a dedicated audience is exactly the reason it didn't get a physical release. It's not the kind of game someone randomly picks off the shelf. They'd end up with a ton of unsold product. The fans will buy the digital release regardless.
@tangyzesty I've been through Act 3 twice with zero issues, other than some minor screen tearing along the bottom of the screen at times. What are you on about?
Between this corpo-speak and "fun and interesting" AI NPCs, they should probably have their execs zip it and take a step back until they can at least release a gameplay trailer.
@AndroidBango It's almost like a precursor to a cyberpunk setting. The technology isn't widespread enough to be considered cyberpunk, but the society is on its way.
I've played this for months, first on GamePass and now on Steam Deck, and never spent a dime outside of the sale price I paid for the game. There's plenty to do and it's a fun, chill time. I don't know why everyone is so down on it, but I'm looking forward to the updates.
BG3 took the spot of my favorite all-time game. Spent over 90 hours on my first playthrough without breaking to play anything else. I've never been as engrossed or immersed in a game.
As a massive RoboCop fan, I'm absolutely going to play this, but I'm a little sad it seems to be missing the social satire that made the first film so great.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Reveals Utterly Ridiculous Player Stats for One Year Anniversary
Absolutely my favorite RPG of all time. I feel like it's one that I'll occasionally go back to for the rest of my life. Truth.
Re: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure's Caledon University Looks Like a Hotspot for Hipsters on PS5
I absolutely love this series and cannot wait. I'm a total unashamed nerd about it, so Day 1.

Upgrade path or gtfo.

Gross. I seriously hope to never have to hear about this stain again.
Re: Epic Mickey PS5, PS4 Remaster Gets a 24th September Release Date
I've never played the original and I'm kind of a nerd about Disney, so I'm in.
Re: Embracer Group Reportedly Closes Alone in the Dark Developer Pieces Interactive
Alone in the Dark was a really solid game with a disappointing finale. I wish it had worked out better for them.
Re: Fairy Tail 2 Brings the Anime Franchise Back as an Action RPG on PS5, PS4 This Year
I enjoyed the first game even though I know nothing about the anime/manga. I may check this out, though it does really look exactly like the previous entry.
Re: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Is a Detective PS5 Game with a Supernatural Side
@Mustoe Sure. There's a side character from the original game that has a role, but other than that there are no ties to the previous titles.
Re: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Is a Detective PS5 Game with a Supernatural Side
@nessisonett To be fair, Max wasn't really a part of Chloe's life when she was killed.

@nessisonett Exactly. He brought that to his Avengers movies and it never left the MCU, then everything else started copying the style. It's so tired.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Sea of Thieves on PS5?
@CieloAzure Look at you with your big boy pants on. 🙄

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Fallout 4's Next-Gen Version?
As soon as Sony lets me upgrade, sure.
Re: Fallout 4 Next Gen Version Is Out Now on PS5, Xbox, and PC
Ugh, it's trying to charge me for everything. I have the PS Plus version but purchased the Season Pass separately. Absolute BS.

Love the concept, hate the art direction.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Expected to Release Around 2027, Says Square Enix
I was hoping for 2026. I wouldn't be surprised if there were an Intergrade type DLC for Vincent in the meantime.
Re: Looks Like Minecraft Will Get a Native PS5 Version Soon
I'm hoping this will somehow fix the completely broken DLC we wasted money on recently. Looking at you, Path of the Jedi and Universal Studios.

Re: 'Florida Joker' Would Like a Word Regarding That GTA 6 Reveal Trailer
You keep saying Jared Leto, but the eyes and mouth are obviously Heath Ledger. Also this guy is a moron.

Sure wish I'd known about this epilogue before I deleted my first character's clear save...
Re: Forget Kong, GameMill's The Walking Dead: Destinies Could Be Amongst 2023's Worst

I'm really looking forward to this, so if it takes longer for them to not screw it up, so be it.
Re: Poll: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bugs are Apparently a Real Problem, But Have You Had Any?
At 70% completion. Had one crash after loading a save. Haven't noticed anything else.

Re: Super Popular Kids Show Bluey Gets Its Own PS5, PS4 Game In November
Bluey is fantastic and got my son (and wife and I) through a rough time a few years ago. I'll absolutely pick this up and play through it with them.
Re: Genesis Games Join Upcoming PS5, PS4 Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection
Well now it's a must-have. Would it be too much to ask for the point-and-click Sega CD version?
Re: Sea of Stars (PS5) - PS Plus Extra's Retro-Inspired RPG Is the Whole Package
I like it well enough a couple of hours in, though I also just finished Chained Echoes, and that set a really high bar for retro RPGs.
