Re: PS5 Pro Does a 'Much Better Job' of Enhancing Games Than PS4 Pro Did, Says Tech Experts

DonJorginho

Once GoY, DS2 and GTA 6 come out I’m sure we’ll see plenty nay-sayers coming out the woodwork to pick one up, it’s a seemingly great piece of kit and seeing as we may not see a PS6 till 2028-2030, selling your PS5 towards one of these is a cost effective manner to experience the rest of this generation at it’s fullest imo.

And if you don’t agree and don’t want one; why are you reading this comment 😉

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games Too

@BlaizeV I don’t know how many more times Sony have to say this, but this was always meant to be a quality mode at 60fps machine, and with games like Horizon FW, Alan Wake 2, R&C and Spider-Man 2 we see modes that push the visuals further than anything the base PS5 has available with RT reflections, 2 of these games deliver that at 60fps, and this is without mentioning the likes of F1 24 which looks like a completely new game in terms of its lighting available on pro.

Re: In the UK, You Can't Buy a PS5 Pro Disc Drive without Paying a Premium

@ThroughTheIris56 Most sales in every region are digital, the outrage has all be online from hardcore gamers and scalpers scalp anything they feel will be scarce in supply, that’s what scalping is.

Check any sales chart data and look at the ratios, the fact consoles are leaning towards this option shows we are heading into a digital age, I never said I’m for it, I have a disc drive for my incoming pro, I like physical, sometimes digital is a better deal but that’s 1/10 times.

PS5 Slim also had a digital option, it’s just cheap enough that they can sell the disc drive with an optional SKU without losing too much money, one disc drive is all it takes to render the slim obsolete so I’m happy to do that if it means enjoying my time this generation.

@ThroughTheIris56 Embarrassment is a bit far fetched, an annoyance maybe, but we do live in a digital age so you can't blame companies for moving away from a dying market (most sales are digital these days)

I myself am a disc collector but most of my friends only stick to digital and don't care for their drives, a sign of the times!

Re: All PS5 Pro Enhanced Games

@zhoont Not true, they were saved by Krafton and are now working on a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush, however Ghostwire Tokyo and The Evil Within will remain with Microsoft so no chance of a Pro update.

@extragood when the PS5 Pro had its initial reveal I was a huge critic, I hated the price and the video was an awful showing for its power, you can find multiple comments of me blasting/ridiculing it

Sony did such an awful job with it's reveal and it really was a huge mistake not using the likes of DF to show it off, as once I saw more analysis on their end I was sold and the £699 was no longer a hindrance.

Re: Soulslike Lords of the Fallen Resurrects with 40% Higher Pixel Density on PS5 Pro

DonJorginho

@Northern_munkey will it be worth the image quality sacrifices though? Even MHW, the performance mode is a blurry ghosting mess, and that will get worse for the majority of third party games as the generation moves forward.

I think the delayed cross gen period has perhaps made people have unrealistic expectations for the lifespan of 60fps gaming on the base model, at least with good IQ.

Re: Soulslike Lords of the Fallen Resurrects with 40% Higher Pixel Density on PS5 Pro

@atthegates that’s the whole point of PS5 Pro though, patches like these are easier to implement than ever thanks to PSSR, the devs don’t NEED to slave over the computers working the code to make things work, it’s a plug and play approach which thanks to the Pro will be even better on the PS6.

Devs aren’t doing this whilst doing their best Mr Burns impression against the players on the base PS5. If it wasn’t for the easy nature of the PSSR implementation and the extra headroom offered by the Pro, it wouldn’t be possible.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) - The Best BioWare Game Since Mass Effect 3

@Pat_trick I did watch that mate! Was interesting to hear a more negative view point and some of the criticisms made by SkillUp were things that would annoy me, that’s why I love games though and the differences of opinions, like how SkillUp didn’t like TLOU II but I loved it, same with how IGN didn’t like Days Gone or Death Stranding and I loved those, I love how art is so subjective and I adore the debates that spawn from said art.

I’ll definitely have to give DA:TVG a go, I’ve got it coming for release but have so many games to play on the pro first it’ll have to wait lmao
