Re: PS5 Exclusives Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Failed to Meet Expectations

DonJorginho

FF16 has had a peak of 13.9k on steam, FF7 Remake had a peak of around 13.5k.

This doesn’t equate to success either and we all know Xbox players do not buy RPGs en masse that aren’t from Bethesda and even those aren’t bought anymore with Gamepass.

So good luck getting those extra sales Square! Wonder how long till they blame the economic climate and delve into Web 3 shenanigans.

@nessisonett I saw the “wrap it up” tweet from them, hilarious stuff lmao

Fans will always be fans and defend it, but I don’t think any developer (who isn’t an smaller developer trying to garner support for their projects from such fans) is gonna actually defend something, or if they do, do it without reason.

It’s funny as some titles look better where as others look a bit meh, but I’ll happily wait to see more seeing as the unit itself is still a few months out more or less.

@KillerBoy As you definitely know more about game development than the folks who actually work on the game buddy, the price of PS5 Pro is ridiculous but let’s not be so naive and frankly idiotic over undermining the upgrades the console offers.

Now whether it’s a £700 upgrade is up to you, but stop being an armchair dev, it’s cringe.

@UltimateOtaku91

So if one platformer, which is a niche genre these days outside of the recognised brands like Mario (that was also made on a small budget with a small team) fails, then that for you justifies Sony to chase live service cash grabs which have been also proven failures only with a highly inflated cost instead (£200/300m Concord)

Makes perfect sense chap!

Re: PS5 Pro Probably Won't Run GTA 6 at 4K 60FPS, Tech Expert Claims

DonJorginho

@Pranwell I won’t go as far as to call any of them vile, they seem like reasonable lads (albeit a bit PC biased in the case of Alex) but biases are normal in all industries no matter how hard you try to not show it.

It’s more a perception problem of gaming public taking everything they say as factual.

Already John has been talking in a much more positive manner about the Pro on Twitter so I’m guessing that after they have hands on time with the unit the mood on the console from them will change for the better.

Re: PS5 Pro Probably Won't Run GTA 6 at 4K 60FPS, Tech Expert Claims

Can we stop taking Digital Foundry as gospel please?

These are the same chaps (as smart as they are) who said Spider-Man 2018 would never run at 60fps on PS5, and said that 60fps on this generation of consoles would be a dream at best.

They also said the Xbox Series X would obliterate the PS5 performance wise and that the TFLOP number was the be or end all of this whole generation.

0/3 so far there.

Rockstar have been releasing 60fps remasters all generation so far, they understand the desire for it, these are the same wizards who got GTAV on the dogwater internals of Xbox 360/PS3.

RDR2 runs at PS4 Pro settings on PS5 (jailbroken) at a locked 60fps, I think it wouldn’t be out the realm of possibility that even the PS5/XSX get some kind of performance mode (albeit maybe a 40fps limit or a blurry FSR2 job)

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

DonJorginho

@mkr I think the price is an absolute joke, and I can’t stand it at all, but I can’t lie have to say that I can and probably will get this console because I’m lucky enough to have disposable income with the work I do to get one, but I still think the price is damn near predatory especially with the £99.99 disc drive add on.

I guess there’s just a balance, if anyone was expecting it to be £499.99 then they were never going to be happy and this pro model was never for them in the first place.

Re: 'It Makes Sense Why the PS5 Pro Price Is So High,' Say Tech Experts

DonJorginho

I genuinely think it would’ve went down a lot better if they just included the disc drive with the bloody thing.

Even £720 albeit a big chunk of cash would’ve felt ever so slightly fairer than a whopping £700 and then demanding that anyone who still wants a “meagre” disc drive to buy the totally optional £100 add on is just a disgrace.

Re: Sony: It's Massively Important PS Studios Develops Games in Various Genres

DonJorginho

@Anti-Matter Sony are still doing these kinda games with Horizon LEGO Adventures though no? And Sackboy - A Big Adventure on launch.

There’s a few swords and guns in Astro Bot but this is no different to LEGO Lord Of The Rings or LEGO Marvel Superheroes, and unlike those two games, the guns just seem to shoot darts from animations I’ve seen, and the swords aren’t usable at all so far.
