Re: Concord Dev Could Close After Director of PS5, PC Disaster Steps Down

GuttyYZ

I think it's a real shame, there is obviously a good game in there somewhere and it hurts to read that someone was that emotional about the project. We need to remember that 150-170 people put a massive amount of effort into the project over years, and because it's a commercial failure they are at risk of losing their jobs as the reward. We need to remember there are real people behind making these games.

I agree that this is an insult, but I question why you would make this public knowledge on social media, because surely he must be conscious of comments coming his way. He is doing it to either gain awareness of this kind of practice, throw Rockstar under the bus, or increase the amount he is offered.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Summer Gaming Habits?

GuttyYZ

I've decided to re-read the entire Malazan Book of the Fallen, so that will not only take me the summer, but most likely till the end of the year.

Gaming isn't doing it for me that much at the moment, but I do play Elden Ring a few times a week for a bit. Probably get back into it later in the year.

Re: Bombshell Report Finds Players Becoming Less Interested in Deep Strategy Games

GuttyYZ

I've been more into strategy games than ever actually, Homeworld 3, Crusader Kings 3, Stellaris, Planet Coaster. I was of the generation that grew up on Sim City and Roller Coaster Tycoon. But I agree finding the time these days is hard.

Kids of a similar age these days play Fortnite which is fine, but if all your friends are playing Fortnite you are also going to.

Re: Best God of War Games

I enjoy all of them, but I think Ascension for me was the weakest, the combat flow didn't feel right. Top of the list is GOW 2018, then GOW 3, then Ragnarok for me.

Re: Games Industry Mass Layoffs an 'Avoidable F*ck Up', Says Larian Studios Publishing Director

GuttyYZ

Having read his comments in full I feel like this, and many other news articles, are taking his comments out of context a bit (shocking, I know). He did make the admission that the vast majority of video game publishers are publicly owned, which means that Larian doesn't have to bow to shareholders. Though he correctly pointed out that publicly owed companies and shareholders do seem to be vering towards short-term growth, as opposed to long-term growth. As always, the situation is a bit more nuanced than simply, Larian brilliant, publicly owned video game publishers bad.
