@johncalmc My thoughts exactly. Going from one terrible social media company to another terrible social media company is not really a good option.
Unfortunately, it’s only the big players like them that will have any chance of launching a successful platform.
I still don’t regret my decision to stay away from all of it. I deactivated my Facebook account a few years ago (I never fully deleted it because family and friends still use Messenger to communicate). I made a Twitter account many years ago, only to delete it a couple of weeks later, when spambots started to post ads from my account.
I would hate to be a company or person that needs to use social media to promote themselves.
I’m interested in the new controller layouts. I couldn’t find one I liked in the demo. I had to swap buttons out in the PS5 system settings, but had trouble with certain prompts because they didn’t appear in-game.
Why custom layouts aren’t standard these days is beyond my understanding. It’s one of the most basic accessibility options to include in any game.
I’m just glad that I didn’t buy Alan Wake during the last sale, which I almost did. Got interested in playing it with the sequel being announced.
It’s happened many times now that I’ve bought a game on for a good price, only for it to be put on Plus about 1 or 2 months later. I finally dodged it for once.
There was concern for the future of this game before release. Hell, it was predicted to be a failure before it was even announced, thanks to leaked information.
How this project was greenlit, I really don’t know. Maybe there’s some world, or some time period, where this game could’ve been successful, but in today’s climate? Not a chance. MOBAs are dominated by two games, and live service games that aren’t Fortnite or CoD are struggling for relevance. Add in an IP that isn’t as universal as Mario or Sonic, and you have a recipe for disaster.
I don’t know why EA didn’t just get a development team to make a Skate 3 HD Remaster. It’s probably what most people want anyway.
The Tony Hawk 1 + 2 remake proved that it could be a viable product. Building an entire new game, then ruining it by shoving a free-to-play economy into it is not going to turn out well.
EA Sports games are already lousy with microtransactions as they are — and those are full-priced games. I shudder to think how bad it’s going to be when the microtransactions are the only method of monetization.
@WallyWest So far, the only PS1/PSP games that are locked behind the PS+ Premium paywall are Bandai Namco games (Ridge Racer, Tekken, etc.) and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut. So there’s a good chance that Killzone will be available for purchase separately.
@Pat_trick You’re right, not everyone that dislikes this game is racist. Most people that are calling out the actual racism are not talking to those people.
But I’m suspicious of people that are triggered at the thought of maybe being called racist. Methinks thou dost protest too much. 😏
I’m not a fan of the character design — just down to personal taste — but everything else looked really good. I’m always interested in playing a Metroidvania. This is the first Ubisoft game that I’m actually looking forward to in a long, long time.
I really don’t know why people are complaining about the music in a trailer. 99% of the time, trailer music is not used in the game. Rap is not really a genre I listen to, but it suits the action in most video game trailers. As far as it not matching the setting of the game? Has anyone seen the movie A Knight’s Tale? Mixing modern music with historical settings can be pretty cool if done properly.
I swear, some people just gotta open their mind a bit.
@Mikey856 The recession would be an additional reason why the pricing of the Vita was such a big deal.
And unfortunately, most of those games you mentioned — while probably enjoyed a bit by fans of those series — got mediocre or bad reviews, mostly because they were compared to the rest of the games in their series (whether that was fair or not), and usually had forced touch controls shoved into them. They just weren’t the system sellers they needed to be. (Call of Duty was the most anticipated, and ended up being one of the worst reviewed games on the system.)
Sony had marketed the Vita as a portable home console, but the games didn’t live up to that hype. The best games on it were new IP (eg. Tearaway, Gravity Rush) that also didn’t sell enough because the mainstream buyers weren’t familiar with them (ie. the Call of Duty and sports game bros didn’t show up), and the best reviewed game on it — Persona 4 Golden — released before it became more than just a niche title (with the popularity of Persona 5).
And you’re right, by the time Killzone came along, the Vita was already on its last legs (I looked it up, it was less than two years after the Vitas launch). And the Killzone series had also lost its shine by then — Shadow Fall released a couple of months after Mercenary and didn’t receive many accolades.
Indies were the only games that sold well on the Vita. But that was because they were drowned out by bigger games on home consoles, whereas on the Vita they stood out because anyone that had a Vita was starved for content, and the games had less competition. That kind of visibility transferred over to the Switch when it released — at least until Nintendo let the floodgates open and let any piece of trash on their storefront (a practice that Sony eventually adopted a few years later 🤮).
@naruball Yeah, the games were only part of the problem.
The lack of built-in storage, with expensive proprietary memory cards needed to download anything. The useless back touchscreen (and, to a lesser degree, the front touchscreen) that also jacked up the price. And the growing prevalence of smartphones as a portable entertainment medium.
All things that contributed to the poor initial sales, which caused Sony to stop making games for it, which was the final nail in the coffin for the device.
The support of indie developers was the only thing that kept it going as long as it did, but it was only propping up a shambling corpse. They all jumped ship as soon as the Switch arrived.
Well, as long as it’s not as bad as the boring slog that was RE: Degeneration. I haven’t watched any of the newer ones — I wasn’t in any hurry after that first experience. I should see if they were any better, before giving this one a chance. The live-action movies only got worse as they went along, so if that’s the case with the animated ones, I would not have high hopes for it.
Never played this one back in the day. Tried playing the remaster once, but was turned off by the sharp, up-res’d polygonal characters clashing with the blurry pre-rendered backgrounds. The remake should fix that, if, y’know, they get around to actually announcing and releasing it.
And so we have come full circle. The Vita walked so the Switch could run. The Switch is what the Vita would’ve been if, y’know, it was actually supported with games by the company that made it. And now the Vita can (sorta) play its successor’s games. How poetic. 🙃
Not going anywhere near this game. There are a few actors in it that I like, but I don’t like them enough to buy a game that got so many bad reviews.
But even if it was actually a good game, I still wouldn’t buy it, because known bigot Chuck Norris is in it, and I’m not going to support any developer that would hire him to be in their game. He’s not just a harmless meme anymore.
@Mauzuri @naruball In my opinion, in terms of variety, the two platforms are pretty equal. It just that the games that are more popular and sell more on Nintendo are family-friendly cartoony games, with the more mature games being less well-known. PlayStation is the opposite, with the epic, dramatic, mature games being the best sellers, with the kid-friendly games in the background.
@G-Unix @Danloaded My guess is that the only reason it even charted last week was due to preorders, from people that preordered based on “The Lord of the Rings” being in the title, or bought it launch day for the same reason. Anyone that read a review — or just looked at a trailer! — stayed far away from the game.
@KidRyan Considering how much the first two Spider-Man games sold, I would think all of those games would be afraid of competition with Spider-Man 2, not the other way around. 🙃
@Max_the_German I wasn’t thinking about resolution. Although it would be part of a Quality mode in the game, I was referring more to the texture quality and the ray tracing effects that you mentioned.
And yeah, I agree that live-streaming is not the best way to present a showcase, if you can’t stream at 4K. Better to just post it as a video and give people the option. But most trailers get separate 4K videos afterward, so they’re there for the people interested in seeking them out.
@Titntin Yeah, that’s what everyone thought when the first trailers for this game came out. Unfortunately, once people actually played it, it didn’t turn out so well.
I haven’t played myself, but every review or commentary about the game mentioned how bad the controls were. Maybe they might have fixed it in the last two years? I’d still wait for reviews before picking this up blindly.
@RonLonDonSwan Yeah, some their older stuff doesn’t hold up as well to modern scrutiny, lyrics-wise (Hush and J***-off come to mind). But Aenima does, regretfully, showing us either that we haven’t made any progress since then, or that any progress we did make has been undone over the past 7 or 8 years.
Final Fantasy XVI’s plot is unfortunately relevant as well (awkward segue back on-topic of article accomplished!). How many more times do we need to tell people, “Hey — war sucks!” before people get the message. 😔
@Max_the_German It makes sense to me. When you’re trying to show off your big AAA game in a showcase, you want people to see it looking as good as it can. Imagine the complaints if they hadn’t!
60fps only matters when you’re playing the game. I didn’t even notice the lower framerate watching the showcase. But I sure as hell notice it when I go back to play a 30fps game after playing a 60fps game.
As long as they don’t pull a Gotham Knights and not offer a Performance mode, I don’t think it’s anything we need to be concerned about. I trust Insomniac and Sony enough not to do that.
Just a friendly reminder that SNK is wholly owned by the Saudi Arabia government, who are responsible for human rights abuses, restricting the lives of women, and murdering journalists.
Do whatever you want with this information. I’m not judging anyone for buying SNK games even after considering this info. I love their fighting games myself, and it sucks that I can’t in good conscience buy the games and support the developers. Your choice is your own. Thank-you. 😔
All these people complaining about the graphics. Sheesh.
This could look like a PS1 game for all I care. As long as the animations are good, the game runs at 60fps, and it has a half decent story, I’ll be playing this game.
I’ll probably get this at some point. I like mechs and turn-based tactics, so I should like this. I play most games on the easiest difficulty these days, so it shouldn’t be too frustrating for me to play.
Their over-the-top, wild presentations were amusing the first few times, but have since become kinda grating, with the law of diminishing returns in full effect.
But Devolver have a knack for publishing quality indie games, so I’ll watch it anyways. It’s still better to watch than most of the other showcases. It certainly won’t be boring.
I won’t be playing any of these at launch. I just don’t play any games at launch anymore, since they are either glitchy and/or feature incomplete, and at the highest price that they’ll be. I’ve got plenty of games in my backlog to tide me over til the Ultimate Edition discounts arrive.
This is an okay selection of games. None of them are games I would buy, but are games I wanted to try.
NBA2K is plagued by microtransactions, so free (with subscription) is the right price for it. I’m not really much of a management sim kinda person, but I like dinosaurs, so I’d give Jurassic Park a go. Trek to Yomi looked so promising before release, but got pretty bad reviews, so I would’ve only bought it for a steep discount — so getting it with Plus is good so I can make up my own mind about it, and not feel buyers remorse if it’s as crap as it seems.
I don’t want to sound disrespectful, but I thought his voice acting in the gameplay footage was the worst part of that presentation. The angry voice sounded extremely forced, like he was someone that had never been angry in his life. Which, I guess, would be kind of a backhanded compliment.🤷♂️
Hopefully that wasn’t the final take that’s being used in the game, and that his performance is good overall. I never had an issue with his voice acting in the previous two games.
@KaijuKaiser @get2sammyb I have to agree, the season pass model is better than the old Capcom method of releasing an entire new cartridge to get balancing patches and new characters.
I still think it’s a terrible way to release a game, milking as much money from a fanbase as possible, to keep up with the FOMO, where casual players like myself can just wait for the complete edition a few years later for a fraction of the price (I just bought Mortal Combat 11 Ultimate edition for $12). In my opinion, just because something was worse in the past, it doesn’t make the current trend good, just less bad than before.
I prefer the Tekken 3 method. Have a decent roster of characters to start with, and unlock a whole bunch of characters and alternate costumes by (and this may come as a shock to modern gamers) playing the game.
Almost every fighting game has gone to the season pass model these days, including Tekken. Tekken 7 was just as bad for DLC as SFV, so I don’t understand why you would choose Tekken 8 over SF6 for that reason alone.
@belmont @get2sammyb Thanks to a commenter in another SF6 article I commented on, I figured out what to buy to get all of the content in SFV.
If you haven’t bought every Season Pass before Season 5, then — as Sammy said — the Championship Edition that’s available on the store will contain all or most of the content up to that point. To get all of the content available, buy the Championship Edition upgrade + Season 5 bundle.
In my situation, I discovered that I had bought the first three seasons, but not the fourth. I think the seasons may still be purchased separately, but when the Championship Edition + Season 5 bundle goes on sale (which it has done frequently), it works out to be cheaper than buying any previous content separately.
This would be cool if it functioned somewhat like the Wii U, with the screen acting as a map viewer or inventory menu.
But strictly as a streaming device? I can’t see the reason to buy this, when I have 3 other devices that could run remote play with a DualSense hooked up by Bluetooth. Besides the fact that if I’m playing a game on my PS5, I’m playing it on my TV with surround sound, not on a handheld.
I would have no use for it at all, especially not at the price Sony would be charging for it.
As soon as I heard the first line of the trailer, I thought, um, a game about stealing from billionaires, being advertised by billion-dollar company Sony. This was almost as bad as Square Enix putting out Final Fantasy VII NFTs.
I’ve been digital-only since halfway through the PS3 generation. So this doesn’t affect me one bit.
The fact that a company has used digital-only as a way to lower the price of game should be good news. Or it would have been good news if it had started in 2012. Now they just took $10 off the current-gen markup price, putting it back to standard price. I’m unimpressed.
Yeah, this was worse than I expected. And I expected this game to be crap. Bottom floor expectations. They managed to fail even deeper than that.
After all the delays, you’d figure that the game would at least be functional. They couldn’t even clear that low bar. 😳
Edit: Just as I finished this comment, the official PlayStation YouTube channel put up a behind-the-scenes developer interview video. Big, dramatic music playing over the design team describing baby’s first stealth game. They have levels that are small, as well as levels that are big! You’ll die if you get caught!
The funniest bit was some of footage they were showing had “Beta-Version not final quality” in the corner of the screen. 😂
This game was already in my shopping cart because it’s on sale right now, and was thinking about buying it. This news made me hit the purchase button immediately.
(And if anyone was wondering — like I was, due to the lack of specific wording in the YouTube video and description — if the PS5 upgrade is also free, along with the new content, I checked the studio’s Twitter and can confirm that it is.)
With the PS4, I liked having most of my games downloaded and ready to play, so I bought a 4TB external drive so I could do that.
With the PS5, I only keep a selection of local multiplayer games installed, and have gotten used to downloading single-player games one at a time, deleting them when I complete them. So I don’t feel the need to buy an SSD for it.
Of course it helps that the PS5 downloads games way faster than the PS4 did.
But with that said, Mortal Kombat would be a game that I would like to keep installed, but 100GB is a lot of space to take up.
I’ll believe when I see it. Or, more accurately, I’ll believe it when I read the reviews. I still don’t trust any AAA game to be without issues at launch, so I wouldn’t be preordering or buying day one, even if I did have the $107 CDN (taxes included) to buy it.
@WallyWest I’m with you when it comes to the Multiverse stuff. It’s not so bad in the comics, where they have over 70 years of stories, so adding in extra universes just adds to the thousands of other stories that were already told. My main problem with the current state of the MCU is that they skipped past all the great, fundamental storylines that shaped the characters over the years and jumped right into multiverses and alternate timelines.
And yeah, Spider-Gwen’s origin story would be completely different if she were introduced to the games. But given that they’ve messed with so many other characters (the Tinkerer, MJ, Doc Ock, Miles), I think they could come up with a way to bring her into the games without losing the core of her character. She could just be introduced as a love interest for Miles, not Peter. To pay homage to her comic book origin, they could use a de-aged Curt Conners instead of Peter, or make her dad be a doctor instead of a cop and have him be the Lizard. I think there’s lots of ways they could make it work.
And — I know this might invalidate any other opinion I might have — I’m with @stefan771 in that I thought No Way Home sucked (I thought I was the only one!). For the reasons stated above (skipping over other stories for multiverse stuff), and many others. If you want to see a huge change to a character’s origins, look no further than the MCU Peter — skipping Uncle Ben altogether, only to try to make up for it after already being Spider-Man for years.
I kinda picture Kraven as more like Taskmaster in the first game, with challenges based on avoiding traps — or a timed challenge, swinging away while being chased by him. But unlike Taskmaster, he’ll eventually be integrated into the main plot.
@WallyWest @ChrisDeku I agree that neither Venom nor Kraven are the final villain. Given the connection to this version of Venom, I think Green Goblin would be most likely.
@Brawl4002 A Venom spinoff game could be a possibility. But what I’m hoping for is to have Gwen Stacy be introduced like Miles was in the first game, with a Spider-Gwen spinoff game afterwards.
I am very interested in playing this game, and had it wishlisted on Switch. Now I’ll switch (heh-heh) it to a PlayStation wishlist.
Very glad that this is announced (or, more accurately, going to be announced) before it went on sale on the Switch. I really hate that some exclusivity deals include hiding the fact that a game will be released on another console after the exclusivity window is over. It’s much better when they announce games as a timed exclusive, so that I know to wait for a PlayStation release.
Naw, I’m staying far away from this one for awhile. I love both racing games and Lego, but 2K stuffing free-to-play-like microtransactions into a $90 Canadian (minimum) game is a no-go for me.
I might pick it up in a couple of years, when it’s $20 or less. It’ll be a lot easier to stomach the irritation of an in-game economy that pressures you into paying real money to get more Lego parts to build your vehicles.
Just gotta hope the servers aren’t shut off by then. Or at least make the game playable offline if they do shut them down.
I can’t vote in this poll because I don’t have the game yet. I’ll buy it once they patch it and mark it down to a reasonable price. $90 CAD for an unfinished game is ludicrous.
Easy to unlock? Pay $90 CAD and get a game that’s not even finished, needing multiple patches to fix glaring bugs and inconsistent framerates? Just to get a worthless digital trinket? I find that to be extremely difficult to do.
This sounds… okay? I still don’t think these kinda systems should be in a full-priced AAA game, but this definitely seems like a better implementation of the concept compared to other battle pass systems. We’ll see when the game comes out how much of a grind it’ll be, and how rewarding it’ll be. I’m not buying it at launch in any case, but it’s good to know I won’t be missing out on some content by waiting for price drops and patches.
Harry Potter is one of those properties that were “after my time,”that is to say I was older than the target demographic when it became popular. Same thing with Pokémon. People just a few years younger than me got into them and have a deep attachment to them, while I was oblivious.
The closest I got to Potter was trying to watch the first movie with my then-girlfriend, but I fell asleep halfway through, and to this day have not bothered getting around to finishing it. And now with Rowling… well… um… being the way she is these days, I have no desire to even try to get into it now. Not being a fan has made it very easy to ignore this game and not support the creator.

I haven’t played myself, but every review or commentary about the game mentioned how bad the controls were. Maybe they might have fixed it in the last two years? I’d still wait for reviews before picking this up blindly.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Demo Spotted on PS Store
@RonLonDonSwan Yeah, some their older stuff doesn’t hold up as well to modern scrutiny, lyrics-wise (Hush and J***-off come to mind). But Aenima does, regretfully, showing us either that we haven’t made any progress since then, or that any progress we did make has been undone over the past 7 or 8 years.
Final Fantasy XVI’s plot is unfortunately relevant as well (awkward segue back on-topic of article accomplished!). How many more times do we need to tell people, “Hey — war sucks!” before people get the message. 😔
Re: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Gameplay: 'You've Seen Nothing Yet', Says Peter Parker Actor
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Demo Spotted on PS Store
@RonLonDonSwan Haha, nice Tool reference. 😊
And yeah, I’d really like to play the demo myself, to see if this game is as good as everyone hopes it will be.
Re: Samurai Shodown's Netcode Update Skips Spring, Now Set for Late Summer
Just a friendly reminder that SNK is wholly owned by the Saudi Arabia government, who are responsible for human rights abuses, restricting the lives of women, and murdering journalists.
Do whatever you want with this information. I’m not judging anyone for buying SNK games even after considering this info. I love their fighting games myself, and it sucks that I can’t in good conscience buy the games and support the developers. Your choice is your own. Thank-you. 😔
Re: Activision Boss Bobby Kotick Blames 'Outside Forces' for Firm's Poor Reputation
“We wouldn’t be in trouble for all the harassment and abuse if everyone stopped reporting it.”
“I’m not against unions. I just don’t like people getting together to protect their rights as my employees.”
“People hate me because I’m Jewish, not because I’m a billionaire that gets paid millions to mistreat his employees.”
“The death threats against my kids are wrong. Threatening death to one of my assistants is cool though.”
“We’re okay if the deal falls through. We got Call of Duty money, bay-bee!”
Just a few translations for everyone if they don’t understand corporate a***hole speak.
Re: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Gameplay: 'You've Seen Nothing Yet', Says Peter Parker Actor
All these people complaining about the graphics. Sheesh.
This could look like a PS1 game for all I care. As long as the animations are good, the game runs at 60fps, and it has a half decent story, I’ll be playing this game.
Re: The Front Mission 1st Remake Goes to War on PS5, PS4 This Month
I’ll probably get this at some point. I like mechs and turn-based tactics, so I should like this. I play most games on the easiest difficulty these days, so it shouldn’t be too frustrating for me to play.
Re: Expect Utter Carnage As Devolver Digital Schedules Livestream
Their over-the-top, wild presentations were amusing the first few times, but have since become kinda grating, with the law of diminishing returns in full effect.
But Devolver have a knack for publishing quality indie games, so I’ll watch it anyways. It’s still better to watch than most of the other showcases. It certainly won’t be boring.
Re: Poll: Which PS5 Blockbuster Will You Be Playing in June?
I won’t be playing any of these at launch. I just don’t play any games at launch anymore, since they are either glitchy and/or feature incomplete, and at the highest price that they’ll be. I’ve got plenty of games in my backlog to tide me over til the Ultimate Edition discounts arrive.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for June 2023 Announced
This is an okay selection of games. None of them are games I would buy, but are games I wanted to try.
NBA2K is plagued by microtransactions, so free (with subscription) is the right price for it. I’m not really much of a management sim kinda person, but I like dinosaurs, so I’d give Jurassic Park a go. Trek to Yomi looked so promising before release, but got pretty bad reviews, so I would’ve only bought it for a steep discount — so getting it with Plus is good so I can make up my own mind about it, and not feel buyers remorse if it’s as crap as it seems.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Actor Researched the 'Behaviours of Addiction' Ahead of Venom Role
Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS5) - Iconic Capcom Fighting Franchise Finds Its Form
Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS5) - Iconic Capcom Fighting Franchise Finds Its Form
Re: PS5's Remote Play Portable Will Allegedly Launch in November
This would be cool if it functioned somewhat like the Wii U, with the screen acting as a map viewer or inventory menu.
But strictly as a streaming device? I can’t see the reason to buy this, when I have 3 other devices that could run remote play with a DualSense hooked up by Bluetooth. Besides the fact that if I’m playing a game on my PS5, I’m playing it on my TV with surround sound, not on a handheld.
I would have no use for it at all, especially not at the price Sony would be charging for it.
Re: Fairgame$ May Be Sony's Most Tone Deaf PS5, PC Title to Date
As soon as I heard the first line of the trailer, I thought, um, a game about stealing from billionaires, being advertised by billion-dollar company Sony. This was almost as bad as Square Enix putting out Final Fantasy VII NFTs.
Re: Alan Wake 2 Is a Digital-Only Release, $60 on PS5
I’ve been digital-only since halfway through the PS3 generation. So this doesn’t affect me one bit.
The fact that a company has used digital-only as a way to lower the price of game should be good news. Or it would have been good news if it had started in 2012. Now they just took $10 off the current-gen markup price, putting it back to standard price. I’m unimpressed.
Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum (PS5) - There's Nothing Precious About This
Yeah, this was worse than I expected.
Re: OutRun Inspired Arcade Racer Slipstream Getting PS5 Upgrade, Free Expansion
This game was already in my shopping cart because it’s on sale right now, and was thinking about buying it. This news made me hit the purchase button immediately.
(And if anyone was wondering — like I was, due to the lack of specific wording in the YouTube video and description — if the PS5 upgrade is also free, along with the new content, I checked the studio’s Twitter and can confirm that it is.)
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 May Hit Your PS5 SSD with a Fatality
With the PS4, I liked having most of my games downloaded and ready to play, so I bought a 4TB external drive so I could do that.
With the PS5, I only keep a selection of local multiplayer games installed, and have gotten used to downloading single-player games one at a time, deleting them when I complete them. So I don’t feel the need to buy an SSD for it.
Of course it helps that the PS5 downloads games way faster than the PS4 did.
But with that said, Mortal Kombat would be a game that I would like to keep installed, but 100GB is a lot of space to take up.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is So Polished, It Doesn't Need a Day One Patch
I’ll believe when I see it. Or, more accurately, I’ll believe it when I read the reviews. I still don’t trust any AAA game to be without issues at launch, so I wouldn’t be preordering or buying day one, even if I did have the $107 CDN (taxes included) to buy it.
Re: Soapbox: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Should Adapt This Quintessential Storyline
Re: Soapbox: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Should Adapt This Quintessential Storyline
Re: Tactical RPG Remake Front Mission 1st Shedding Switch Exclusivity for PS4
I am very interested in playing this game, and had it wishlisted on Switch. Now I’ll switch (heh-heh) it to a PlayStation wishlist.
Very glad that this is announced (or, more accurately, going to be announced) before it went on sale on the Switch. I really hate that some exclusivity deals include hiding the fact that a game will be released on another console after the exclusivity window is over. It’s much better when they announce games as a timed exclusive, so that I know to wait for a PlayStation release.
Re: LEGO 2K Drive Is Reportedly Eating Pre-Order Players' Save Progress
Naw, I’m staying far away from this one for awhile. I love both racing games and Lego, but 2K stuffing free-to-play-like microtransactions into a $90 Canadian (minimum) game is a no-go for me.
I might pick it up in a couple of years, when it’s $20 or less. It’ll be a lot easier to stomach the irritation of an in-game economy that pressures you into paying real money to get more Lego parts to build your vehicles.
Just gotta hope the servers aren’t shut off by then. Or at least make the game playable offline if they do shut them down.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?
I can’t vote in this poll because I don’t have the game yet. I’ll buy it once they patch it and mark it down to a reasonable price. $90 CAD for an unfinished game is ludicrous.
Re: PS Stars Adds Legendary BD-1 to Celebrate Star Wars Day
Easy to unlock? Pay $90 CAD and get a game that’s not even finished, needing multiple patches to fix glaring bugs and inconsistent framerates? Just to get a worthless digital trinket? I find that to be extremely difficult to do.
Re: LEGO 2K Drive Pulls a Halo Infinite, No Time Gated Seasons
This sounds… okay? I still don’t think these kinda systems should be in a full-priced AAA game, but this definitely seems like a better implementation of the concept compared to other battle pass systems. We’ll see when the game comes out how much of a grind it’ll be, and how rewarding it’ll be. I’m not buying it at launch in any case, but it’s good to know I won’t be missing out on some content by waiting for price drops and patches.
Re: Hogwarts Legacy's Massive PS5 Success Looks to Have Conjured a Sequel Already
@KaijuKaiser You’re not the only one.
