Re: Site News: Where's Our Forspoken PS5 Review?

I'd like to lend my support to the theory that PS didn't get a copy due to it's adherence to honesty in reviews. The fact that the site frequently has to remind casual readers that a 7 is still a good score bears that out. It's also the reason Push Square has been a daily check in for me for the last ten years.

@NEStalgia yikes. I didn't know that was the case. Tbh I've only seen a couple of trailers and it didn't appeal to me at all, but I'd be lying if I didn't feel some small amount of shadenfreude after SE pulled that crap with Avengers being a live service, whatever Babylon's fall was, and their attitude to NFTs.

Based on Writing on Games' review this looks like it could be monumentally bad. I'd find it funny but the actor who plays Frey is likely to get a heap of abuse from the usual scum online and she absolutely doesn't deserve that. Bad writing and a horrible character is not the fault of the actor.

God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring come out in the same year and we're arguing over which is better. Good lord. They're both incredible, both push things forward in different ways and both were an absolute joy to play. You can't really compare which is "better" as it's so subjective.

TMNT For the NES is very much of it's time but hardly terrible. It has randomised enemies which were rare for the time. Strategic elements, light RPG elements, a variety of weapons, shortcuts and replayability. It's easy to get sucked into the hate post AVGN and every other lazy review of it, but having played it to death on the c64 and NES as a kid it was really a good- though hardly great- game.

Oh, and as for the water level just take your time and use Raphael. He can tank the whole level and he's useless everywhere else.

@tomassi I've played Rugby and used to box in my teens. The issue isn't being anti sports, it's being anti football. Since we're stereotyping here then maybe us "basement dwellers" don't have much interest in a sport which relies as much on convincing the ref you've shattered your femur on a blade of grass as it does on skill. In front of an audience of baying, racist, violent morons.

See? Stereotypes are dumb. Most people I know love football, they're good people, and they all happen to own FIFA already if they play it.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for April 2022?

Card games are beyond tedious. I mean you're on a console that lets you do pretty much anything and have unparalleled control of your character. Why bother being limited by the constraints of a physical game?

I'm too old for SpongeBob so no point there and Hood isn't exactly setting the world on fire is it? I don't have time to invest in becoming competent at a repetitive MP game and I really don't want to.

Three pointless games which Sony should be ashamed of. It's all well and good saying ItS OnLY A poUnD a MonTh or whatever but the fact is this is a service that has gone massively downhill, and to not speak up about that is anti consumer.

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

Nothing of interest there. I'm fuming I have to have plus just for Elden Ring as I'd have gladly skipped it again otherwise. Apparently Spartacus is getting announced "in the coming hours" according to Reddit so hopefully there will be some better news than this.

Card games though? Why? Just buy a physic deck with pictures of elves or whatever on them. Pointless genre.

Re: Is the Dream of Online Competitive Quidditch Over for Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, PS4?

Johnnycide

I'm not a fan of the property, but it's really nice to hear fans being so excited for this game. It looks amazing!

I'd say the best way to go would be a full on arcade style Quidditch game. Similar to Rocket League. Take it online and possibly f2p and it could be absolutely huge.

It's pretty obvious that Hogwarts Legacy is going to be a massive hit, so there's no reason it couldn't support spin-offs. I'd like to think that the fans have made the whole property their own thing now and that the author is being sidelined. A huge community based around a multiplayer Quidditch game could be a good addition to that.

Re: Poll: Will You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

Johnnycide

Well it looks incredible. The graphics are unbelievable and the gameplay looks like it could be good.... But I'm just not a fan of the franchise. I could maybe look past that but the other issues I have with the author in particular mean I can't support it.
