Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 528

Korgon

Doing my NG+ on Stellar Blade. I'm determined to get the platinum on this one. All I need to do is get the other 2 endings and I got it. Honestly my personal GOTY so far for the year. I really can't get enough of it. Looking forward to that boss rush mode!

Other than that, trying to catch up in Honkai Star Rail but I'm still only on the main story for Penacony. Just too much other stuff to play!

Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

Korgon

I primarily play on console so it doesn't really effect me much. I've only used my PC to play 2 games in like the last 5 years and those are Trails in the Sky the 3rd (only available on PC) and Halo Infinite (Didn't have an Xbox Series X yet...although with how things are going I might not ever have oneπŸ˜…).

I personally have no desire to play PS5 games on PC myself but I'm not bothered one bit if PC players get a chance to play some PS5 games too.

Re: Enticing Action RPG REYNATIS Hits PS5, PS4 in September

Korgon

I'm interested. It's going to need to get great reviews first though for me to consider playing it at launch. It's just close enough to Metaphor's launch just a couple weeks later to where I might need to consider putting it on hold until after I finish Metaphor.

Re: This Year's Call of Duty May Not Be Included in Xbox Game Pass After All

Korgon

@Randinator123 @FreasurePlanten
To be fair, Microsoft is swinging more and more towards becoming a 3rd party publisher with each passing day it seems like. So if anything I would say it's in everyone's best interests if sites everywhere cover topics involving Xbox at the moment including Push Square.

After all, it's the job of the press to report the news related to topics they cover. Push Square may obviously focus more on the Playstation side, but that doesn't mean they should just silo off topics involving the larger industry.

Re: Xbox Pondering PS5 Port of Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

Korgon

I really hope so. Of all the studio purchases Microsoft made, Ninja Theory was the one that made my head turn. I'm not really a huge Bethesda guy. I'm definitely not an Activision guy. Ninja Theory though? I'm a huge fan of their work ever since Heavenly Sword so it hurt to see them lose their independence.

Needless to say, following the recent Xbox news, I'm very worried for their future. The complete lack of marketing also doesn't strike me as a good sign.

Re: Gaming Subs Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Aren't Growing At All

Korgon

I just prefer to just own a game and not need to worry about if what I want to play is in the subscription service I'm tied to. Life is too short to just play whatever a subscription service offers. That said, subscriptionshave a place in the market. I'm just not part of that market.

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Is Going All-In on Assassin's Creed with Black Flag Remake, Another Remake, Co-op Multiplayer Games, and More

Korgon

I love Black Flag but I'm not too interested in a remake. It's still too soon for Black Flag remake for me. It does make business sense though especially since they already have so many of the assets to work with already from Skull & Bones.

I love this series though. It's had its ups and downs sure but I don't think Ubisoft gets enough credit for how relevant AC has remained over the years. Will all of these different projects hit? Not sure but I'm interested in almost all of them except for the co-op one. Even then though I'll wait to see it before passing judgment.

Re: PS5 Fans Mostly Happy with Sony's Third-Party Deals, But PlayStation Studios Need to Step Up

Korgon

I would love to see more from 1st party for sure but I can't say I've been disappointed with the 2nd/3rd party stuff. It reminds me of how the PS1/PS2 eras were. Playstation didn't really have an incredibly strong 1st party stable of devs until the PS3 generation and beyond.

As long as the quality is good I don't care where it comes from. I would already put Stellar Blade pretty high up in terms of my favorite games of the generation so I can't really complain!πŸ˜„

Re: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, More Closed in Brutal Bethesda Restructure

Korgon

Oof. Some pretty big names in that list. They just lost their biggest stake in the Japanese talent market by closing Tango. Not a great idea when the Japanese side of the gaming industry has mostly been thriving lately at least in terms of quality.

And while Redfall was a disaster, I more blame the higher ups for that one than just Arkane alone. Arkane Austin still did Prey before that and that game is very much a respected title.

A real shame here. Some good talent being wasted.

Re: Rumour: Next Tomb Raider Said to Be Open World, Set in India

Korgon

Sounds cool to me. The reboot trilogy was already kind of tinkering with the idea as while I wouldn't classify them as open world they did start to experiment with that sort of thing on Rise of the Tomb Raider. I really enjoyed the reboot games and am looking forward to this one for sure.

Re: Talking Point: Have Sony's Third-Party PS5 Deals Made Up for Its Lack of First-Party Games?

Korgon

The 1st party output has definitely been pretty slow this generation. My favorite 1st party PS5 game thus far would probably be Horizon 2, and while I did enjoy it I wouldn't say it's going to be on my favorites of the generation for sure.

Thankfully the 3rd party games have mostly been really great so it hasn't been a huge problem. There is no doubt though the 1st party stuff has been a bit disappointing this generation.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Stellar Blade?

Korgon

I'm on a 9 at the moment but I gotta say if it keeps it up I might even bump up to a 10! It's flawless performance-wise. Combat is really fun. Music is incredible. Fantastic enemy variety which is a must in games like this. The lore is actually pretty interesting too even if it's not necessarily the most original. I've even found the platforming to be refreshingly challenging as opposed to frustrating. Exploration is quite satisfying most of the time.

My only gripe is that you have to travel to the tetrapod first every time you want to travel to a new area once the game opens up a bit more. It takes bit too much time to get where you want to go. The English VO is also a bit rough in spots although I've certainly heard worse.

All in all I love this game. Great work Shift Up!

Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Dev Thanks Fans for 'Passion' Following Censorship Controversy

Korgon

@UltimateOtaku91
I agree that I do actually think this was more a creative decision than censorship. There are still plenty of other skimpy outfits available in the game after all and the director has been pretty upfront about the game leading up to this point.

However, even with that probably being the case, I think most people are more upset that it seems very random what games get censored and what games do not. Sony did kind of bring this heat on themselves really ever since some devs from Japan came out and said Sony is starting to crank up the censorship a few years ago. (I can't remember the exact wording but I remember reading about it)

That's why I think it would be best if censorship just wasn't a thing. It just complicates things for no real reason, even when it likely didn't actually take place like with Stellar Blade.

Re: The Elder Scrolls, Fallout Dev Wants to Shorten Time Between Games

Korgon

Yeah CDPR has really kind of taken the crown from them for this type of RPG for me. Sure CDPR has made mistakes as well but at least they don't leave their games barely functional and just count on modders to fix everything.

Cyberpunk 2077 eventually became a truly great RPG. Fallout 4 still has bugs in the PS5 version from the PS4 release...almost a decade later.

Re: PS5 Sensation Stellar Blade Has One of the Highest User Ratings Ever

Korgon

I'm having a really great time with it myself so far. Honestly can't think of an issue I have with it. I guess I wish I could fast travel to a specific way point in Xion when traveling from the actual levels in the game but that's at most a minor nitpick.

Shift Up did a great job here. They deserve the praise.

Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Fans Irate Over Alleged Censorship

Korgon

Yeah if they like straight up removed the bikini costume alongside these changes then perhaps there could be a conversation. The director has been pretty up front about this game however so I believe him when he says it was honestly a design choice.

Also just putting it out there. The game itself is awesome by the way! I find it a shame some folks are apparently avoiding the game just because of discussions like this. If your interested in the game then just play it. Who cares what anyone online is arguing about?

Re: Microsoft 'Meeting Players Where They Are' as Xbox Games Among PS Store's Bestsellers

Korgon

I picked up Hi-Rush...but unfortunately didn't really click with it. Maybe it's because I just played the Stellar Blade demo before playing it and I got more excited to play that. I might give it another shot down the line.

Still this is good news for Playstation. I was going to pick up an Xbox for Hellblade 2 soon but with news like this I feel fairly confident that will make it over to PS5 someday. I got enough to play while I wait as well.

Re: Rumour: Watch Dogs Is Dead, and Legion Reportedly Killed It

Korgon

I wonder if they might change their mind after GTA6 comes out and the hype dies down a bit for that. I hope so. I really enjoyed Watch Dogs 1 and 2. I have Legion and still want to get around to playing it. Just haven't had the chance.

It's a shame too. GTA obviously comes out on top in terms of presentation and story but it would be a lie if I said I didn't think Watch Dogs played a bit better in terms of combat and traversal at least. Here's hoping the series can come back some day.
