I had a pretty decent time with Unity's co-op mode with a buddy so I could actually see myself enjoying this. I always thought AC's multiplayer offerings were extremely underrated so I'm happy to see them coming back!
I mean yeah, there have been some big AAA games that have struggled... but there have also been huge successes too. Wo Long says hi.
There is room for both to exist. And if there ever isn't enough room...well that's when I'll stop gaming. I like multiplayer games too but single player games are still the heart of my gaming interests.
I've never liked the idea of censorship. Never have, never will. It's just a stupid silly practice that serves no purpose other than to annoy people. Completely and utterly pointless.
I don't think the idea of a Monster Hunter type Horizon game is going to work as well as it sounds on paper. Mostly because I don't see the Monster Hunter fanbase jumping ship anytime soon.
@gaston Yeah inflation is really the thing I'm most worried about. After all this is the first generation that has had console prices only go higher, not lower. It doesn't look good but hopefully I'm wrong.
$700 for a general consumer focused product is hard to imagine.
Some folks just can't help themselves. I'm still firmly in the not interested camp. But at the end of the day we choose what is worth it and what is not for ourselves. $700 for a few extra hair strands on Tifa's head is borderline insane to me but if someone really wants it and can afford it? Go for it.
I'll save my my $700 for a PS6. With the way things are looking I'm going to need it.
The concept is cool for sure. I also loved Gravity Rush 1 and 2 so I want to be into this one. I'm concerned about the polish level though. I'm fine with some jank but it looks like it needs a few more months in the oven.
No joke I always need to take a minute or two whenever I pick up a Switch controller to get my bearings. I can switch between Xbox and PS just fine for the most part but with Nintendo's I press the wrong buttons constantly until I settle in.
Weirdly enough MK1 is actually my favorite of the modern 2D MK games. Though I would really like a return of Konquest mode over the short story mode. SF6 World Tour mode reminded me how much I loved Konquest mode on Deception.
The PS2 MK games were the best imo. So much content and immense depth with the style switching. I'd buy a collection of those in a heartbeat!
@PuppetMaster Yeah I thought that venomous fang could be an option too but unfortunately his recovery is pretty good to the point where unless I'm fully committed to it and guess way ahead of time he will block in time and that move is super negative on block so it's extremely risky.
I haven't tried EX Serpent Lash though. That might actually be a good idea since I think she is technically airborne when zipping up to the opponent. Maybe she goes over it? I'll have to try that when I get the chance. Good suggestion!
@MrPeanutbutterz Huh. I never knew about all that in regards to Nishiyama. That's really interesting! I remember the Capcom VS SNK games but I always just figured that was the end of their connection.
I appreciate the history lesson! I'm still not crazy about his design but at least now I have a bit more context behind why he is interesting to people. I already feel a bit more appreciation for him than I did.
@MrPeanutbutterz
I can see that perspective. And there is a point where it starts to get a bit too weird like Negan. However, I always saw the point of guest characters is to draw in a potential new player to the genre. Picking characters from other fighting games just feels kind of...I don't know redundant.
I know there is a bit of a connection between SF and KOF/FF already but I just never really liked the character design of SNK personally.
Like Terry looks like Ash Ketchum was a pizza guy from the 80's. He just... doesn't do anything for me.
As for Mai, well she has sex appeal I guess so there's that. đ
Maybe if I grew up on SNK I'd feel differently about it but as someone with zero nostalgia I just feel indifferent about them.
@Keyblade-Dan Agreed. Yeah I'm not opposed necessarily to guest characters but I don't like the idea of them taking up half the season as well. I also prefer they come from a source outside of the fighting game genre. Like Strive bringing Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I have no idea how she will play which I find more exciting. Plus I love Edgerunners so that helps too.đ
@Nei Yeah AKI is a lot of fun but with Terry's light ground fireball not clashing it is really tough to get anything going with her since she is at her best when chasing down her poison fireball. Plus his anti-air/anti-fireball front flip kick thing basically nullifies the jump in as well so I'm honestly at a bit of loss of what to do!đ
I'm in a bit of weird place with this seemingly Capcom/SNK alliance that's brewing. I like Street Fighter but I don't really like SNK much at all. I know this collaboration is supposed to be exciting but I just kind of feel indifferent to it all.
I don't know. I guess I would have just preferred SF stay without guest characters but I guess that ship has sailed at this point.
Terry seems kind of annoying in SF6 at the moment. He seems like an awful match-up for AKI from what I played yesterday. Maybe I just need to go to the lab a bit but I've had a pretty awful experience the last couple days since he launched. He doesn't seem like a good fit to me at least. Maybe it will get better with time.
It was only a matter of time. I liked Jinn a lot too but come on! Sucker Punch literally has a borderline perfect record at this point. Their worst game is Infamous Second Son...and that's a great game too!
If Sucker Punch felt the need to move on then I trust them. At least wait until the game is out before we start the next battle of the culture war!
Ugh I swear I hate the culture war. It's SOOOO STUPID.
@Kienda Well hey it's refreshing to see someone actually critiquing the game/development itself instead of the other nonsense. And by the looks of things it seems like Ubisoft heard you and delayed it so looks like you were right in that they needed more time!
If it was more than $10 I'd have said forget it. But $10 is fair enough for what this is.
I would still rather have ports for games that need it more though like... you know... the PS3 catalog. I'd honestly pay $70 for a Killzone 2&3 collection.
@Kienda I mean they said they've given Shadows four years of development. That seems like a fair amount of time to me.
Plus AC Mirage was awesome. I really liked that one. Sure Skull & Bones was a bust and Star Wars Outlaws seems like it was just okay for the most part (though I still intend to play it at some point).
And I didn't mean to make you think I was singling you out as far as the whole controversy situation goes. I meant that as more of a general statement on the discussion surrounding this game. If you want evidence of what I mean...well...look around on this comment section. đ
@Kienda I just wholeheartedly disagree but whatever. Feel how you feel about them. I've had a great time with every mainline AC in the series and just find the drama surrounding AC Shadows annoying and sad.
The culture warriors have just taken over any and all discussion about the game. The game is barely even talked about anymore. Comment sections just turn into "Why is da samurai guy black!?" Like I said it's just annoying and sad as a fan of the series.
Is it exciting? Not at all but to their credit it does look a bit better facial animation-wise and it's only $10 so it's tough to get too upset about it. I'm just glad this isn't what they closed the show on.
Looks absolutely fantastic. I am a bit sad to bid an unexpected farewell to Jin for the sequel but I have the utmost faith in Sucker Punch. They simply don't miss. If they felt the need to move on from Jin then I trust their judgment. Obviously highly looking forward to it!
See this? Good choice for the remaster treatment. It's not easily available on current-gen consoles and the games could use a touch-up. Perfect! Take notes Playstation! đ
It is a bit odd how determined some of these PC players are when it comes to not signing into PSN to protect their data when they've already given said data away anyway through other means like their phone/Steam accounts.
But if it's really that big of an issue then that's the beauty of mods like this so...go get em PC brethren! Stick it to the man!

Nice! Edgerunners is legitimately one of my favorite shows of all time so I'm definitely interested in this. I really hope they get Studio Trigger to work on it again. They absolutely nailed it the first time around.
It's insane to say the least. How in God's name this took over $400 million to make is simply unconscionable. I believe Collin though. He doesn't just throw stuff out there.
I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall during the meeting when Herman was just head over heels for this game. Just what the heck did he see in it?

A simple Remastered collection of Killzone 2&3 is all I'm asking for from Guerilla. I'm not even asking for a new one necessarily.
