I'm really torn after the demo because I was having a tonne of fun until I started feeling queasy and the queasiness kept getting worse the more I played, same happened a few days afterwards when I booted it up again.
The only other time I've had this sensation with games is when I played some janky VR years ago.
With Forspoken I have an inkling it might be because of how the camera sticks so close to Fray during combat.
Hopefully there are better camera options in the final product.
@Vriess I get that lack of patience thing, I was like it for ages until DS3 but something in that just clicked and after that I was a lost cause.
The funny thing is for me the 'Game of The Year' should always go to the game that had the biggest impact on me, the one that REALLY stuck around in my head and with that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should've won because that game destroyed me emotionally, it was far from perfect but man did it leave a lasting impression.
@LiamCroft you didn't happen to notice if the camera could be moved further back? The demo made me feel nauseous and I think it was from how close to Fray it remained at all times.
@Would_you_kindly everything this gen has been £10 too much and its really slowed down my spending and made me much less likely to take a risk... Probably not what the publishers/platform holders intended.
@Vriess going by Trophies on PS 25% of players got the Ranni ending and almost 12% Platinumed it so with 17 million sales I'd say it wasn't niche in the slightest and a sizeable chunk of those players liked the game enough to get at least one of the endings (not the easiest ending either. the other two endings sitting at 20% and 15%)
Ragnarok has a 9% Platinum and a 39% for the final boss trophy... It'll be interesting to see what the completion rate is like further out from launch.
HFW would've done much better if it hadn't released like a week after Elden Ring, it got a bit buried... I think the first game also launched too close to something else as well.
@nessisonett he wouldn't have been so rubbish if, the usually great, Sam Witner had annunciated his lines properly instead of mumbling like an amateur.
Oooh I REALLY like the idea of seeing some Dragons Dogma 2!
I'm mostly looking forward to Yoshi-Ps FFXVI presentation
I think this years announcements will be mostly smaller titles and DLC reveals... I do think we might get a Starfield new release date announcement - I might be pulling that out of my arse though.
At first I was like nah, they haven't done that much because obviously memory is flawed and we remember games as we saw them in our lil jellyfish pilots.... but then you see direct comparisons and it is night and day.
Looking forward to this, also its good to hear Isaak's voice.
The real question for me is what gets cut to shorten the length, do we get the same amount of actual content and less fluff and adverts or the other way round?
I'm looking forward to the Forspoken reviews and final code hands on impressions because so far I really don't know what to think about it... I suspect part of that is video compression turning lovely particle effects into colourful mud.
@KidBoruto oh boy! The reason why war is settled with fashion rather than violence in Love Nikki is due to something called The Blood Curse... May I present to you the lore behind it - https://lovenikki.fandom.com/wiki/Blood_Curse
@Hindenburg no adult is excited about Persona or Hogwarts... As much as I think FFXVI will get Most Anticipated... I think you've underestimated how old the core audience for both of those franchises actually are... Especially Persona.
Looking forward to seeing a message from our boy Yoshi-P when it wins Most Anticipated with a new Clive Focused trailer ending with a release date of... Early July 2023.
I'm a sucker for big showcases, but I also have a backlog that just keeps on growing so not having something looming over the horizon is nice, even the stuff that is pretty close is still vague and non-threatening.
That being said I am looking forward to the trailer compilations from The Game Awards... and who knows they might announce something at TGA for the following week (doubtful but ya never know)
Over the last year I've managed to fix my sleep schedule so I won't be staying up to watch for the first time since the Keighley's began. Will catch it all in the morning though.
I'm a mutterer myself, whenever I struggle with real world problems I talk the through with myself so character like Aloy doing it feel natural. I do appreciate having an option setting to either tune or turn it off though
On the smaller side I'm playing Signalis - pitch perfect PS1 era survival horror, think I'm about half way through.
On the bigger side I've actually jumped into New World, it hasn't caused my PC to catch fire yet so that's a good and the game itself is scratching a certain itch
I'm thinking I might burn through a NG+ run of God of War 2018 before Ragnarok hits.
I wonder if there's a bunch of other articles attached to the possible Showcase that's supposedly been delayed/cancelled whilst Sony tries to convince everyone the Actiblizz thing is bad for competition (it is).
I'm going in with the bare minimum of hype, Konami need to do a lot more besides collections of old games to earn anything resembling faith from me.
I'm expecting pachinko and N*Ts with a side salad of Mobile junk.
What I'd like to see is a new AAA game not from Bloober or a full on reboot/remake of SH1... Or, and this is The Dream, Konami and Kojima have buried the hatchet and that Elle Fanning game is actually a Silent Hill game.
The saddest part is that it wasn't terrible. But it was inevitable because for a live service game to survive it needs a) an audience and b) The Secret Sauce and First Soldier had neither.
Got myself a chunk of cash set aside to pick this up (providing the final price is prohibitively extortionate) and I can't wait to do me some robo-dino hunting.
I'm hoping this will also be made to work on PC, if so I can finally sell off my old headset.
I doubt this has anything to do with God of War and more to do with Skull and Bones being a bit ***** and them knowing it and hoping they can do something about it in four months of extra time. S&B's main platforms will be PC and maybe XB because of Ubi+, no one wants to spent £70 on a game that would've made more sense two years after AC Black Flag, but a month of Ubi+ to play it with friends and maybe play through AC Valhalla? much better value proposition.
@OmegaStriver same here, I'm looking forward to giving it a go just to see if it improves on stuff from OW1, but I'll probably get bored quickly and go play literally anything else.
Just played through the demo... Not really a fan of the art style or gameplay the story might end up being good but what's in the demo was super bland.

Re: Deliver Us Mars Counts Down to Launch with New Story Trailer
Gonna have to download the original on PS+ because it the sequel looks fascinating. Not sure how BUtM slipped under my radar!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 458
I've been playing The Callisto Protocol and I'm enjoying it even if it is linear to a fault.
I've also started up Pentiment but haven't played enough to form an opinion beyond it having a cool art style.
Finally, I played and finished the story mode for Hundred Days, it was a neat little thing, but not neat enough to keep me playing the 'endless' mode.
I'm probably going to finish my second playthrough of Signalis at some point tomorrow because that game rules!

The sheer amount of stuff going onto my to play list is ridiculous, my poor wallet!

@Would_you_kindly u wot m8!?!
That has to be for deluxe edition with a load of season passes included.... right?
Re: Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn Trademarked by Bandai Namco in Europe

It's on my wish list which means it might be under the ol' crimbo tree so for now I won't be buying it.
Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed Mirage Targeting August 2023 Release Date After Internal Delays
August would be good, provide a good breathing period between it and Valhalla's final content update.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Given Brazilian Age Rating Amid Release Date Rumours
@Hindenburg mate, your ignorance is showing and it just makes you look a bit sad and boring.
Best we stop here because it is way off topic to continue proving how bland and utterly tasteless you must be.
Catch you in another article, probably.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Given Brazilian Age Rating Amid Release Date Rumours
@Hindenburg yup, there's an audience out there that has an imagination, shocking I know!

I'm just hoping the story is as bizarrely dramatic as the mobile games.

Sad to see them go, but you can't argue with that reasoning though.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, I'm 80hrs in and I swear this game is trying to completely dehydrate my body with a constant emotional barrage...
