@zupertramp my guess from using the tools in the beta? They don't think they need it and they'd be right for the overworld, you can drop a pin and it'll give you a route to follow... but in the dungeons it's a pain constantly bringing up the full map to check for missed passages.
The other reason they probably don't think they need it is because it was always a hideous looking solution even if it was a useful one.
It'll depend on friends if I get this day one or not... otherwise I'll be too busy with ToTK and then FFXVI... I really enjoyed the betas and I'll 100% be picking D4 up sometime before the first season is up.
@Jey887 Yeah, it doesn't help that the songs he and his team have been putting out for Endwalker have been banger after banger... I don't mind this as long as its an end credits thing, I can't see it blending with the actual game in the same way Flow or Closer in The Distance does in XIV
A CDPR obsessed friend passed about three weeks ago and I've started a Death March playthrough of The Witcher 3 as a tribute, he constantly wanted me to give it another go and I was waiting for them to patch the new gen version before starting with him as a co-pilot, but he's gone now but a promise is a promise.
Burning Shows, Zelda ToTK AND FFXVI back to back is going to destroy every single moment of free time I have. I like the Amnesia games, but yeah delaying away from Zelda is the right call even if I'll still not pick it up right away I'll at least remember it exists come my regular cravings for spooky games.
I've been playing through this on PS+ Extra and having a good time, but it isn't as spooky as I wished it was. Wonder if those extended story cutscenes alter anything I've already seen.
@Allfather they'll probably use the same reasoning from XIV with Crystal waypoints allowing safe passage through the planets lifestream or whatever they decide to call it.
Describing it being like FFX's is a bit misleading, it's more like the team's other game FFXIV where zones are interconnected and you find warp points as you go and can then select those warp points from the map. The footage from PAX clearly showed this.
I finally, after 205hrs, wrapped up everything story related in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I really enjoyed my time with Eivor but it felt like it dragged towards the end a bit unlike Odyssey and Kassandra which remained an absolute joy until my final act of booting Chickaros off of a cliff... I'm ready for whatever MIrage ends up being though I hope they don't squander the possibilites presented by Basim.
Currently I'm playing Ghostwire Tokyo on PS+ and finding it to be weird in both good and bad ways, it's certainly scratching the magpie in my soul.
Not picked it up yet because I'm still slowly going through MHR Sunbreak... Once I'm done there and the need for monster murder begins to consume me again I'll grab Wild Hearts.
@theMEGAniggle Honestly I just like that getting his name ever so slightly wrong turns it into a crispy critter.
I don't mind him as an actor and quite enjoy him in the MCU, as a person he seems okay but his church of choice has a terrible rep for bigotry so whenever he pops up on Twitter's Trending sidebar I'm always wondering if he's done something dumb.
I am one of those that think he was the wrong choice for Maria, though.
@Shepherd_Tallon That's what I do... I get caught up on D2/ finish another big game and then go catch up with Genshin. I find with Genshin that setting myself a goal helps it not get overwhelming with the sheer volume of stuff there is to do... that or emerge 48hrs later feeling foggy and wondering why i have a Paimon tattoo on mah butt.
Had my eye on this for a while and it looks like it'll fill a hole in my heart... at least until the Elden Ring DLC... or I finally pick up Steelrising!
I haven't played any of the Ryza games yet and that is a mistake I need to fix! I usually save an Atelier game for when I need something meaty yet comfy to play, think I'll start keeping an eye out for the first two games on a juicy sale.
@SirMarshmallow for expansion style DLC? Yup, pretty much always been a thing, the extra gubbins is a rare occurrence though. Related - buying a season pass before the content is available is the exact same as pre-ordering DLC.
This weekend is all about the Diablo beta, providing the servers don't implode! Failing that I'm finally wrapping up the AC Valhalla DLC, bought the Ragnarok expansion a while back but got overwhelmed by it, but the time is now right to finish Eivor and Havi's story
I finished it a few days ago aaaaand... I had a good time, but was ultimately a bit disappointed, the magic was missing in NG+ mainly due to how dull the loot is. The whole thing borrows too heavily from Nioh but waters everything down, even the deflection system is a simpler, more telegraphed, version of Timely Guard (the timing is indistinguishable, just a different button press)... but the gods damned loot - you can literally farm up the very first bosses 4* gear and use that for the entire game including the NG+ cycle and because of that builds become stagnant and redundant...
But, like I said, I had a good time whilst playing, but the longer it stews the more disappointed I become. I played on Game Pass so I don't feel like I wasted any money, but I doubt I'll touch it again until there's a cheap complete edition out in around 18 months.
A whole load of Wo Long for me, I'm about 3/4 done with NG and I've heard rumblings of NG+ introducing new gear sets/set bonuses/wonder if they'll call it Graces in this one... Although I may just finish up NG and then wait to see what the season pass/ complete edition bring to the table.
I'm really enjoying it, just not as much as I did Nioh 2 so it gets a solid 8/10 from me. Overall it feels shallower than Nioh 2 and what we gain with the deflection mechanics isn't worth the loss of stances and deep weapon specific skill trees, same with the gear being so dull... I need to get into NG+ though before passing a final verdict on gear and build crafting.
Visually it feels like a downgrade and performance is a bit all over the place (on PC), all three dubs feel like they're lacking as well.
All-in-all it feels like a B-team effort, but despite my complaints I'm still having a good time.
@The_Pixel_King Something I tell everyone is that there is a Soulslike out there for everyone and once one clicks for you you'll find the rest a lot easier to get into.
With Wo Long the most important thing is to get comfortable with the deflection mechanics, my no.1 tip is keep your block button pressed whilst trying to deflect that way even if you whiff you still block
Having finally 100%'d the entire trophy list for Nioh 2 I have started Wo Long (on Game Pass) and I am really enjoying it so far, I won't really be able to judge it properly until endgame but so far it is much simpler affair than Nioh 2, the deflect system is a nice addition but I'm not sure if losing the weapon skills trees was worth it.
It was okay. Tchia continues to look charming, Goodbye Volcano High actually looks like a game now, getting a release date for Baldurs Gate 3 was good. Street Fighter 6 continues to look better and better (Cammy main feeling good about her new look) and RE4 Remake also looks neat!
But oh man, Suicide Squad 'looks' pretty, but so does a gold painted turd... Live service, cosmetic battle-passing bollocks... I was hoping we weren't getting two DC stinkers but there it is.
@GodofCapcom I'm concerned Pragmata is this gen's Deep Down, for a game that was originally planned to launch last year we've seen next to nothing of it.
@RadioHedgeFund I'm hoping that after The Final Shape they do an overhaul of the whole thing, have a new starting place for newcomers. I love playing Destiny but its far too easy to get left behind
@Arnna I'm currently going through the DLC and it is almost maddening how comforting Nioh 2 is to play, I was worried that returning after almost a year would make it hard jumping back in (Dream of The Demon) but nope, was like slipping on a fave jumper.
I fell back in with Nioh 2 to finish up the DLCs, although I'm a little under levelled to kick Ren Hayabusa to the curb! I need some of his gear for trophy reasons.
I've also fallen into my comfort zone with it and just queue up to help randoms, its good xp and good farming for gear and materials.
@djlard the ridiculously oversimplified version is this - Trans people exist, Rowling REALLY doesn't like that and thinks they are a danger to women and all Trans people want is the right to exist and receive medical care appropriate to their needs.
I was a huge Potter fan back when I worked for W H Smiths, doing those book launches was amazing... but JKR, man, why couldn't she just not be a massive bell end? Her advocating and preaching hate for people who just want the right to exist soured everything she's ever touched.
I love the changes, the original FFVII never had any special hold over me and if they had just done a shiny re-tread I would've been bored stiff, but the changes means it's all shiny and new AND makes the original and its spin-offs much more compelling.
1) Finish Deliver Us The Moon - I don't know how necessary it is for enjoying Deliver Us Mars, but DUTM is apparently a short game so it won't hurt.
2) Start Hi-Fi Rush, I have it downloaded and ready to go!
I'll also be doing some Impacting in Genshin, doing some artefact farming at the moment to actually build out some of my characters rather than just winging it!
Elixir, eh? Sounds like another manifestation of Amrita... Cannot wait for Nioh 3 Kingdoms!
Honestly though Nioh 2 is possibly the best Action RPG in existence, definitely my fave loot-n-boop and I really liked the alpha/test they put out a while back for Wu Long so i cannot wait to jump in.
I've been using this phrase a lot, but I'm reluctantly enjoying Calisto Protocol, it's linear to a fault and the combat is a bit rubbish but I'm having a good time for the most part... Once I'm done I'll trade it in and most likely never think of it again.

I slept on the first one for far too long, won't be making that mistake with the sequel.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Pre-Launch Livestream Announced
Can almost guarantee this'll be when the demo drops, it's the kinda timing Yoshi-P's mentioned as the ideal time between demo and actual release.
I'll say I won't be watching because I have all the info I need, but I also know I'm weak when it comes to this stuff.
That being said I'm going to be elbow deep in Zelda probably all the way upto the release of FFXVI.

@Konks literally hundreds of hours of footage scattered across YouTube, have at it and enjoy!
Re: Rumour: Persona 3 Remake Gameplay 'Leak' Is Going Viral
Even though I would play the heck out of a P3 remake I'd rather just move on to P6.
The leak looks nice, but it also has the feeling of a mod for P5 (even though P5 doesn't have a bow user)

@Fight_Teza_Fight my hope is that he left the metaverse type place to get away from it and not that he influenced Matsuda's sudden love of NFTs.

I'm still going through Nioh 2 DLC and now Way of The Nioh (NG+4) because I hadn't realised that Wise wasn't the last difficult.
I've also started the new No Man's Sky Expedition, this game will never stop being endlessly fascinating AND comforting for me.
I also wrapped up Destiny 2 Witch Queen with it being currently free and I think I might have to jump in day one with Lightfall.
