@BAMozzy I'm hoping the Horizon Live Service ends up being something like Monster Hunter, but my gut tells me it'll be a good but not long lived fairly vanilla MMO.
But yeah, it is weird having no clue whats coming besides the doomed to fail live service PvP stuff.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth... I just, this minute, finished all of the VR challenges AND got the Johny's Trove Gold Trophy! I only have the Hard Mode chapters to do before the Platinum is mine... So this will be my final weekend before I move on... on to the original FFVII!
I'm on the true End Game of FFVII Rebirth... Getting Johny all of his Treasure Trove gubbins! I only have one more left - the Hard Mode VR Missions so that Platinum is smelling mighty tasty!
If I get that done I'll be returning to Pacific Drive and playing some No Man's Sky with the lads.
This weekend is all about the last two chapters of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I've run afoul of the G-Bike bug for the final side quest and it is a ball-ache because it blocks me from two trophies but I can return via chapter select when SE patch it.
I'll probably make a start on Hard Mode as soon as I finish the MSQ but if I don't then I'm going back to Pacific Drive to finish that off. I was also considering returning to Baldur's Gate 3 to finish the Platinum, but with Larian announcing that no major DLC is inbound but they have some new evil endings planned I may wait for those so I can finish everything in one fell swoop.
That's me absolutely sold, at first It felt a bit clunky and then halfway through the demo something clicked and that Boss Challenge with a nicely geared EVE was the cherry on top. The parrying is like a lighter Sekiro especially with the Blink counter working a little like the Mikiri counter timing-wise.
@DoomGuy_117 Yeah just finished it and it was exactly what I was hoping for, especially the Boss Challenge with a fully decked out EVE, was not expecting full blown Sekiro style parry patterns... Man that was fun.
@Icey664 out of curiosity what do you actually mean by 'woke'? Because I'm willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt and not assume they're a sexist bigot scared witless by anyone that doesn't fit their narrow perception of reality.
I plan on picking it up, but I have some other stuff to get through including games that were bought for me at crimbo... Hopefully by the time I get around to it there will be some good performance updates.
After almost losing my will to live playing Two Legs? Nowt To It! on the Piano in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth... I will continue to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Heck I might even finish the game this weekend! And then I'll probably keep going because I want the shiny Platinum.
If the tech works well and actually delivers solid 60fps with a 4k image not too far off it'll be a game changer... I'll do what I did with the ps4 pro... Sell the old one and upgrade to the new hardware
I'm continuing my way through FF7 Rebirth. I'll be making a push for the finale soonish I think and I have no idea what to expect in terms of twists to the OG story but my gut tells me something is coming
Shame this isn't in the UK, I'm looking at a new PC build and already have the funds put aside so paying on this and then clearing it would be a nice lil credit score bump, plus the saving of 100quid on PS+ would be a bonus.
As a Nioh Enjoyer I do worry the simplified combat even on the harder difficulties will disappoint. I think I'll go for Dragon's Dogma 2 and wait for reviews from other Nioh Enjoyers...
@Wazeddie22 Yeah, if I hadn't already committed to Rebirth I would be all over Uniform Overcoat.... no, wait... Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware have never let me down but we're swamped with MUHASSIVE games at the moment. But once I have a moment of empty time I'll grab a copy.
Midnight Difficulty might be this games version of the Twilight Missions from Nioh, amped up versions of normal missions with bonus rewards... I'm still not sure what kinda loot/gear system this is going for.
@Futureshark investing in a good (but not ridiculous) vinyl player was one of my better impulse purchases over the last five years. There's something special about the sound that can only be quantified as warm and cosy.
@jolteon23 the simple answer is that Japanese labour laws make it hard to lay off employees, essentially a company cannot lay off employees unless it is a last resort to save the company from going under. Whereas western companies can make layoffs to temporarily boost the numbers for shareholders without meaningful repurcussions.
@Rosona I concentrated on just the main story of each game and side stories if I came across them. I played (and loved) Yakuza 0 a few years ago and so I started with Yakuza Kiwami on January 18th this year and went HAM... I finished Yakuza 6 on February 4th. Yakuza 7 was the longest game and I didn't finish that until Feb 23rd.
If I were to do this again I would take longer on each game just to better pace myself, but I'm glad I have the whole story now firmly planted in my head.
@AFCC You need at least one ATB bar for the summons, as for the big Synergy stuff? If you look under the ATB gauge you'll see five pips, most moves that use ATB will light up one of those pips (the description for each ability/spell shows how many pips it will activate. Each Synergy Ability costs a set about of pips. The Synergy Skills can be freely used and build up ATB aaaand in my experience are a bit of a pain to actually get off but are worth it.
Having finished my goal of beating all the Yakuza games up to Like a Dragon Yakuza I gladly received my copy of FFVII Rebirth and started it... 15hrs in and I am loving it. I do find myself missing my Station Wagon in Pacific Drive though... So I might pop on that this evening and try and break into the deep zone.
@atthegates the mistake people make with the Nioh games is thinking they're soulslikes instead of approaching them like a diabolike... They get easier the more loot you acquire for a build and I do mean easy, but most don't push passed the initial struggle because they think the game will always be that gruelling
After giving Skull n Bones a fair shake in the last open beta just before launch I decided to see if my Black Flag memories were just rose tinted... and nope - AC4 is just superior game in every single aspect. I do not get how Ubi got it so wrong when they had the blueprint right there, but somehow they managed to absolutely biff it.
I thought that was the original line? It's been some time since I played it and I've been far too busy to do a replay. If Rebirth requires an unlocked hard mode replay for Platinum I might do both games in Hard mode back-to-back to finally get the Remake Platinum.
Or I'll remember that Dragon's Dogma 2 and Ronin are waiting for me down the pub and get a shifty on.
I finished Like a Daron Yakuza last night, absolutely loved the story, main characters and I love the idea behind Ichi percieving the world in video game terms but I wasn't the biggest fan of the turn based combat and the level grinding that inevitably entailed. Maybe it's because I had just come from playing Kiwami all the way through to Yakuza 6 and separating the series from being a brawler, but turn-based auto battler just felt not great.
I still need to play through Isshin and Bloke Who Changed His Name but not yet and Infinite Wealth will be picked up later in the year or when it hits Game Pass
Next up is Lies of P maybe OR Pacific Drive. I'm in a bit of a holding pattern until FFVII Rebirth lands on my door step.
I'm okay with a PS6 remake of Bloodborne, I adore BB with all my heart but if it means we get a damper, more festering Yharnam during the quieter period around a new systems launch I am all for it.
Has nothing to do with being overwhelmed with a backlog of massive titles.

@SaucyBrotato yup, the only thing I care about with the updates, no PS5 platinum, no purchase.
Re: SunnySide Is a PS5 Life Sim Worth Keeping an Eye On, Out in July
@Mikey856 don't think frame rate matters at all with chill games like this, at least you're keeping your eye out for games for you mum, though!

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?
a consistently paced 30 is always preferable to a choppy 60.
60 would be the ideal, but if you cant lock it down tight then don't bother - get 30 down pat and use any extra processing juice to gussy the game up.
Re: Star Wars Outlaws Schedules a Story Trailer for Tuesday
@LiamCroft completely different studio as well so doubly nope.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Rated in Australia
@JB_Whiting that and Australia always seems to be extra tough on ratings sometimes to the point of screaming LEWD at the sight of an ankle.

Re: Everyone's Talking About Eve's Outfits in PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade
The outfits in the screenshots all look great, the video almost looks like what'd happen if you unequipped her costume, rather than a costume itself.
I look forward to seeing what other costumes we can collect.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 519
On PC I'll be gunning my engine to finish Pacific Drive.
On PS5 I'll be enjoying the sun at Costa Del Sol in FFVII Rebirth.
However, I'm also feeling like I might try and catch up on Shogun and the New season of True Detective.
