@nookie_egg people look at the deal as 3 so studios and several IP for $300 M, but an important element to the deal was that Embracer took on all outstanding debt from Square. This means that the company is running a very healthy budget right now. The acquisition would make more sense, seeing that so many of Square's upcoming games are PlayStation console exclusive. Though Final Fantasy is the biggest game on Square's docket, they do have other solid brands, and an amazing live action MMORPG in FF14.

Kingdom hearts
Life is strange
StarOcean

Are also solid.

Square doesn't have many main studios. From what I can tell most of them are support studios to their bread and butter titles. So even I do agree that the acquisition of Square Enix will be expensive, but the titles will be system sellers.

@nookie_egg I do think Sony and Square are close to an acquisition. I think Sony is holding out until after Activision Blizzard is dealt with. It would look bad for their argument if they bought a publisher then accused Microsoft of trying to make Activision exclusive. Lol.

@Korgon it's a shame, especially with how good Killzone Mercenary was, it is completely possible to make a 3v3 quick match style game for mobile.

I'm a minority where I live but never once have I thought to myself, "hmmmm we need more diversity."
I like to play the role of the character in the game, and get lost in the lore. Almost like it is an RPG... I even have no trouble playing the other gender option. Not sure how people get triggered by these game design choices...

Sony could have avoided this if they had bought Atlus out of bankruptcy back in 2014. They have since helped rejuvenate Sega. It cost them less than 200 m, considering what Sony paid for Bungie, something like this would have been a solid studio to acquire back then. Now I doubt Sony could ever acquire Sega.

I thought they would be acquired by Sony after how strong until dawn was. Wasn't meant to be, I'm glad they have joined a third party publisher who feels they can tap into their skillset better.

I appreciate that Sony doesn't want to announce until the game is nearly releasing, but like 3 months should be reasonable, so I can scrap together some money to buy it at launch.

I'm sure Destruction Allstars was Lucids chance to make it into Sony's spending spree. Unfortunately for them, the game was doomed from the beginning, should have charged it as a 39.99$ game, they'd have been more successful.

If I do upgrade my SSD I'll do a 2 or 4 TB. Just so I don't have to do it again.

The problem with these services is starting a game. Once I'm in it, I'm in it. Just platinumed Horizon, so I'm taking suggestions for my next game.

I platinumed the game, it was fantastic for a PS4 title.

This being a PS5 game, I want more open world exploration and preferably an improvement to how the story was told. I have no doubt graphics will be phenomenal!

Snitch hasn't been wrong yet, I'm excited to try it. I held off on all PS1 final Fantasy games when I started gaming in the PS2 lifecycle, since at the time I couldn't go back. Now I can and have played 6, 8, and 9 but held off of 7 for the remakes

This is a dumb argument. Sony can't compete with Microsoft. Microsoft can take a loss on game pass for over a decade and still come out fine on the other side. When PlayStation is their main bread and butter, Sony can't afford to make mistakes. I think enough people care about owning discs that this won't be a problem in the foreseeable future...

So I'm assuming Persona 6 will be a multiplat game. Might take longer to develop as a result. Disappointed, but I suppose all fans deserve to play their masterpiece.

I got it for PS3, got a free PS4 upgrade with my PS4 pro, I would have said hard pass for this. But it's a full remake from the ground up. I'll get it on sale a year from now

Looks like they are preparing to be acquired. By whom we can't say for sure. We haven't heard from Tencent in a while. I'm sure they are waiting for an opportunity. I believe they are the second biggest behind Microsoft with Sony a distant third; in portfolio size.

I think it's become cool to judge a game that isn't a single player experience. Let's give them a chance. DG was good after they fixed the launch issues. Hopefully they have less of them this time around
