Considering Nintendo hasn't done much with the IP in years, I don't mind this blatant copy of their IP. Considering Nintendo hasn't done anything, I'm assuming they can't. Nintendo is very trigger-happy with its lawyers.
I actually really like MMORPGs, it's my favourite type of games to play. Unfortunately I haven't played a good one in years. My all time favourite is Iris Online.
Sony story first party studios are still making those. If Sony wants to try a few of these, I have no problem with it. at least one of the potential 5-6 they launch will resonate with me, I'm sure. This one wasn't it. But who knows, it might grow on me.
I remember thinking about that when I saw the news that it was coming to PlayStation. How utterly wasteful on their end. But Xbox leadership no longer has control. Everything is run through Microsoft now...
Sony should release all of their live service games on Xbox, why are they not? It doesn't make sense. Single player games, fine, I understand but the live service ones should be available on my smart fridge. Just like Skyrim (jk don't give Todd ideas).
I got bored of the linear structure in part one, how people managed to do it again for the sequels I'll never know. If they remake it to be more open world, I'm in.
I'm not sure why people assume this purchase was in retaliation for abk, acquisitions would take months in the background to complete. As for the poll, it's still early to say, the purchase went from one studio split into to two now. If they take control of the studio and make it a first party, I don't see why it won't still be a good purchase. The staff are still some of the best in the industry. Management needs to be overhauled...
@Mikey856 most trophies are connected to the story. It's a pretty easy platinum, the level scaling is a bit off, where you only need to grind just before the last dungeon.
Just completed the campaign, I'm going for the platinum now. It isn't on the same tier as Tactics Ogre (which I think is an absolute masterpiece) but it's still a solid 8.5 (I'd round up to 9). I missed games like this. Feeling the nostalgia I bought unicorn overlord, so I'm excited for that next.
@Ichiban likely because hick is generally highly critical of Sony, but not so critical of the team in Green. Mr magic is likely making the comparison there.
I'm fine with Sony cutting their loses on titles that aren't half baked, it's better than releasing a game should have been cancelled and is subsequently reviewed to oblivion.
@XboxTheBestBox kinda hard to not take you for a fanboy with a name like that. But no worries.
I actually disagree about the cloud gaming issue. I think the cloud issue is not overblown like many think. This is a real industry, and it's in its infancy right now. At this stage, an early lead can hold for several generation.
This is a good move on Microsoft's side to establish good faith, but a 15 year deal is the same as a 10 year deal for games with Sony. We won't know the full long term effects until it's too late.
I hate when people bring up the Psygnosis acquisition in 1995 (actually 1993)
It was purchased for £20 million, the equivalent of £52 million today, no where near the cost of even Insomniac, let alone Bethesda or ABK...
Also even if cod is released biannually, if it brings in nearly a billion in sales for Sony a title, why would they sign for everything but cod when cod is more valuable. Sony is still a business we can't expect them to take the lesser option.
A little surprised but I'm not overly concerned. This was a fantastic game to show off this generation to people who were on the fence. It has served it's purpose, let it ride off into the sunset on PC.
@AsterZero if Sony didn't sell the memory cards at such a ridiculous rate, it could legitimately have been as popular as the PSP. Still make it proprietary so that it can't be hacked (that's what they were afraid of, after the PSP), but charge a reasonable rate for one.
@AsterZero they published games too, like the zero escape series. They are under the Kadokowa group (owns Fromsoftware). And they have kinda just done their own thing for years.
@AsterZero I like Spike Chunsoft as well, I'd have preferred Atlus had stayed independent obviously but given the circumstances, Sega is just a step below Microsoft in managing studios.
It's a marketing deal can't be mad about it. Sony did this with call of duty up until the Microsoft acquisition. Hopefully it's worth it for SEGA to alienate their largest fan base.

Re: Sony Accused of Signing Secret PS5 Console Exclusivity Agreement with Black Myth: Wukong
Sony markets the hell out of signed exclusives. It would make no sense for them to sign a deal and keep it a secret.

Re: Bungie's Making Headlines for All the Wrong Reasons Yet Again

Re: Persona 3 Reload Dev Says P3P's Female Protagonist 'Likely Never Going to Happen'
This can't be too much of a shock for people, even the original p3p was entirely different from the original persona 3.

@trev666 you're daft if you think Sony is the only one who does timed exclusives. Sony might do it more often, but it's not exclusively Sony.

@Foxx_64740 I believe FFXIV doesn't have anything to do with Sony, it's some type of security concern between Square and Microsoft.
