Re: Reaction: Sony's Billion Dollar Bungie Buyout Is Looking More and More Like a Blunder

I'm not sure why people assume this purchase was in retaliation for abk, acquisitions would take months in the background to complete.
As for the poll, it's still early to say, the purchase went from one studio split into to two now. If they take control of the studio and make it a first party, I don't see why it won't still be a good purchase. The staff are still some of the best in the industry. Management needs to be overhauled...

Just completed the campaign, I'm going for the platinum now. It isn't on the same tier as Tactics Ogre (which I think is an absolute masterpiece) but it's still a solid 8.5 (I'd round up to 9). I missed games like this. Feeling the nostalgia I bought unicorn overlord, so I'm excited for that next.

@XboxTheBestBox kinda hard to not take you for a fanboy with a name like that. But no worries.

I actually disagree about the cloud gaming issue. I think the cloud issue is not overblown like many think. This is a real industry, and it's in its infancy right now. At this stage, an early lead can hold for several generation.

This is a good move on Microsoft's side to establish good faith, but a 15 year deal is the same as a 10 year deal for games with Sony. We won't know the full long term effects until it's too late.

@AsterZero if Sony didn't sell the memory cards at such a ridiculous rate, it could legitimately have been as popular as the PSP. Still make it proprietary so that it can't be hacked (that's what they were afraid of, after the PSP), but charge a reasonable rate for one.

Re: SEGA Uninterested in Being Acquired by Sony, Microsoft

@LightningLeader idk why you believe this when it's very publicly shown that he made both Indiana Jones and Redfall, which were originally supposed to be multiplat, are now Xbox exclusives.

They can do it, sure, but let's not act like Microsoft, and Phil is some sort of saint in this industry.

Let's also not act like it's surprising Sony is opposing this deal, if next year Sony decided to purchase Take-Two, effectively owning both Grand Theft Auto and 2K, that Phil/Microsoft would not stand in Sony's way to oppose this type of acquisition. Some titles need to remain independent/Third party.
