The more I read the more I'm excited for this game. I didn't really like 15 at all and beat 13 but had zero interest in the sequels. Last proper FF I've enjoyed was 12. I'd also rank 12 below 4, 6, 7, 9 and 10 soo lol...I really want this to bring the series back for me
@TBubs311 I agree. Ragnarok improved on many things gameplay wise. But the anticipation of the reboot, the sheer quality of it and the story gice 2018 the edge imo
Sony Santa Monica and Insomniac have pulled ahead of Naughty Dog imo. And I'm splitting hairs don't get me wrong lol. Suckered Punch also. Several of the industries top 10 devs come from Sony right now imp. Will be diving in once I wrap Hogwartz
Long ball. Took OG psvr a while to reach that 5 million milestone. Also lots of people are just getting their hands on the console itself. Hard to double dip at over $1k combined in these craptacular economic times. I'm pretty sure it'll be just was the first one was. A mild success that will continue to get better and cheaper with better iterations and R&D.
Article doesn't mention that Iron Galaxy is responsible for the PC port. Yes, it ultimately will fall on ND but they outsourced the port. Should have gone to Nixxes
Hope it sells 50 million copies. Most fun I've had with a game in a long time. It just hits different. They nailed the setting and lore so well. I feel like a 5th year at hogwartz lol. Yes I'm tire of hearing about floo powder and there is this odd nasaly echo in the characters voice but damnit this game is fun. Chaining together different magic correctly can make you feel like a master wizard as a teenager. They basically treat you just like Harry.
I've never had a a major retailer in the US break a street date. Are these "retailers" just like one off electronic joints randomly peppered throughout Europe and Asia or what?
I'm loving it. Just a beautiful and fun game. Inventory management is crap early on but everything is amazing imo. They did such a good job with the setting its hard to stay on task. It reminds me of when the first Fable dropped even though it was missing promised (impossible lol) features. Very few games make me feel like a kid while playing
Wonder if all the devs they let go will get their jobs back since there will be 69 billion laying around. Doubt it. An extra slap in the face to all those people.
Here is the reality. Horizon and TLoU Factions will have legs. They are billion dollar franchises at this point. Their mainline entries sell in the 10s and 20s of millions. The other 10?....uphill battle for sure. Even twisted metal will be a hard sell imo and I love that franchise
Make this a PS Plus title. Win, win. You will get new people to sub, older subs to stay subbed and almost certainly have a high concurrent engagement up front.
A 4070 with 32 gb of ram to hit 4k 60fps. That's absolutely absurd. Reeks of extremely poor optimization. The fact they had to patch a demo 6 days before launch is also a huge red flag
2018 and this raise the bar imo. Extreme polish, excellent narrative and acting, deep, rewarding and crunchy action. The talent at SSM is tippy top tier. I've enjoyed it very much. Let's go to Egypt or South America next for the God of War. Kratos has become one of the most iconic video game characters of all time.
I've had a healthy balance of new and old games for quite a long time. I'm currently playing GoW:R, Soccer Story, Shredders Revenge, Cowabunga Collection, Chrono Cross, Tecmo Super Bowl, Mega Man 2, River City Ransom and Ninja Gaiden lol.
Man the amount of people that never played it on psp is crazy to me. Glad it was able to get some attention. It's a great piece of the overall FF7 world and a really fun game. The side content is clearly tailored to the "on the go" bite size type of structure. If you can overlook that the actual campaign and story are a blast
Didn't Ghosts do the same thing with Iki Island DLC. I could easily be wrong but I thought there was some controversy over the DLC for that. Maybe it was not ps5 only but had a weird upgrade path. Either way this is frustrating but also good in a way. Time to let 10 yr old hardware go but to alienate the millions of ps4 players that bought forbidde west seems weird.
Sifu should have been nominated for game of the year imo. Otherwise pretty good list. I see the obligatory CoD on there lol. If that won I'd have no faith in my fellow gamers. And to be transparent I'm not hating on CoD. They have the formula down to a tee. It's just reiterating the same thing. That shouldn't be a candidate
@SMcCrae95 not a big issue for me but very few reviews (unless I overlooked it) have discussed the framerate or the graphical fidelity. I've mainly read about extensive pop in. Is the framerate steady and does it look to take advantage of current gen hardware?
Looks like you answered a similar question! Sorry! Great review
Trying to finish Little Hope with the wife. More Sleeping Dogs (still such a shame we will never get a sequel) and probably some shredders revenge with the boy. Basically nothing new til GOWR
Little Hope on PS5 with the wife. Sleeping Dogs...I am so glad I ayed this again, been years and feels super fresh to me. Shame we will never get a sequel.
I'm in-between a lot right now. MoonGlow Bay, Shredders Revenge, Dark Cloud 2, and Rocket League have all been getting their fair shake. I also started a new file in Sleeping Dogs. What a SHAME there will never be a second one. Takes everything I love about GTA style open worlds and everything I love about street brawlers and mashes them together perfectly. I've been in a AAA rut now for a while. Very few are hitting like they used to for me.
How'd that work out for Volition, lol. Hopefully it's just modern tech being incorporated. It will probably be for 'modern audiences' by releasing in an awful state, peppered eith MTXs and Sam(antha) running around in a Fortnite skin =) I kid. I hope I kid anyways
Yo...Santa Monica makes EVERY other dev look like they need to get it together. Sure there are amazing talents out there that make amazing things. But what they do just hits different on all levels. Cinematography, score, gameplay, level design, pace...everything. Those crazies at that studio are magicians
@XenonKnight not a bad perspective. Nobody bats an eye at a 30$ 4k bluray. That film is 2-3 hours long. And is shot, edited and released in less than half the time.
@ultraviolet the US feels your pain. at least most of Europe has realized coal is legit and necessary. I hope your situation improves along with everyone else
@Hypnotoad107 that's a really good take and very accurate I think. Sony has the goodwill of the industry and gamers alike due to the awesome quality of their games and content- along with the massive user base. I think Xbox HAS to buy outright because who wants to let their game die on the least popular console without a nice windfall

Re: State of Play Showcase Set for Thursday, Final Fantasy 16 the Focus
So IGN says they didn't know if there are other announcements. Did they actually announce its just a 20 minute deep dive of FF16?

Re: PSVR2 Sales Off to a 'Slow Start', New Report Claims
Seems weird cause they aren't easy to find the the states. I mean scalpers have them online for 800-1000 but I haven't been able to find one at msrp
Re: Best PS3 Games
Folklore and 3D DOT Heroes were great games.
Re: New God of War Game Seemingly Teased by Tyr's Voice Actor
I could see a MM style game, maybe a prequel to 2018. Please not at 70$ though. Maybe Kratus isn't even in it. So many characters could be playable.
Re: Final Fantasy 16's Jaw-Dropping PS5 World Will Make You Say Wow
Damn. That is pretty.

Maybe it's just a VERY small developer. I'm talking like 10 people small. Scope creep is a dangerous thing with a small work force

Resistance or Killzone live service. Established lore and easily recognized IPs

Money grabbing trash right there

Vampire survivors, GoW:R and Shredders Revenge with the boy. Maybe some Kirby with the boy as well.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give God of War Ragnarok?
10 hours in. And 10 is the score.
Re: Evil West's PS5 Performance Mode Is a Bit of a Kicker at 1080p, 60fps
