Re: Preview: Firewall Ultra Proves There's Plenty to Look Forward to on PSVR2

Perturbator

VR games like this have revived my interest for what I feel is a stagnant genre (online FPS). If you haven't yet had a chance to try VR, it feels more like playing a blend of Laser Tag and Counter-Strike.

This sequel seems to be shaping up nicely, but I would have preferred to forego the contractors and just be able to create my own character instead. The Contractors were just dull lifeless avatars without a personality anyway - let me create my own!

"There's an incredibly stark difference when you compare the leadup to the release of the PS5 to its more expensive peripheral PSVR2. Well before launch, we knew Sony's first-party studios would have titles like Demon's Souls and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales ready for day one, while Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal waited in the wings."

That just about covers every first party PS5 exclusive so far, 2+ years later. Not a very good example.

You're right about the marketing though. Seems like Sony didn't want to advertise it at all.

Re: PSVR2 to Receive Renewed Competition from Meta Quest 3 This Year

Perturbator

The main problem for Meta is lack of good content. After playing RE4, Beat Saber and a few other titles...what else is there to do? It just doesn't have the kind of titles that will keep people using it for years on end.

I use my mainly for PCVR and the occasional Dr Beef mod, and it's a lovely headset for connecting wirelessly to PCVR. So good I think I will skip the Quest 3 entirely.

Additionally, content on the Meta store also feels very overpriced. I can get great PCVR games on Steam for half the price of some shovelware game on Meta's store. Similarly, PSVR2 games will also likely get nice sales after some time, while you're lucky to get a 30% coupon a couple of times a year on Meta.
