Re: Subnautica Devs Keep Slipping Sequel Screenshots into the Original

Perturbator

If you guys happen to own a PSVR2 headset and a slightly capable PC, you really should consider trying Subnautica in VR with the Submerged mod (mod that gives you motion controls).

It's one of the most immersive gaming experiences ever, I promise! Even RE7 on PSVR wasn't as frightening as diving ever deeper into the abyss in a tiny submersible.

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

Perturbator

No I've been a fan even before Soulslikes was a thing since I imported a US version of PS3 Demon's Souls before it was even out in Europe.

Golden Rule: If you don't like em, don't click on articles about them. That's what I tend to do with stuff I don't care about like Soccer or Sims or MMOs etc.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator Says Silent Protagonists Look Like Idiots

Perturbator

Silent protagonists work well if the game is constantly seen from a third or first person perspective, like Dead Space 1 and Half-Life 2.

If there are cutscenes from different angles where other characters are talking and the player character just stands there moping, then yes they will appear to be mute or somewhat stupefied.

Re: The First Descendant (PS5) - A Mindless and Repetitive Grind

Honestly a 3 sounds a bit strict, even in regards to Pushsquare's own review scoring policy:

3/10 – Poor
A poor game with more negatives than positives, these titles disappoint in almost all areas. There may still be minor redeeming qualities here, but a release awarded this score should generally be avoided unless you're in love with the concept. Anticipate shoddy presentation, lousy controls, and/or a lack of ambition across the board.

Firewatch VR

I'm late to the party but this was a great experience, made even better with the PCVR mod that makes it pretty much like a native VR title. Interesting story, great voice acting, even though its a walking sim it rarely feels like one.

Elderborn
Untitled
First-person hack and slash soulslike with metal music. I turned off the music pretty quick though. Enjoyable violence that is supposedly similar to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, although I've yet to play that one.

Gray Dawn
Untitled
Another walking sim and this one definitely feels like one. It's a surreal story where you play a priest accused of murdering an alter boy. Great visuals but the gameplay is mostly walking around clicking things until the story progresses.

The First Descendant
Untitled
It's Destiny in third person with some pretty characters. You have to grind to unlock new characters, and then you can pay real money to make them look like Stellar Blade Eve. Game is alright and I think it will do well, but since I have a big backlog I'm moving on to other games.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing The First Descendant?

@Northern_munkey I think the game is just demanding overall. I'm playing on a pretty powerful PC with 4080 GPU, and with everything on Ultra settings (2560x1440 monitor) and Raytracing set to minimum I can get around 95fps max. Any higher raytracing option could make it stutter.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing The First Descendant?

Yeah I tried it just now, its alright. Most similar to Destiny amongst the games I've played.

Looks pretty, great controls, crap story (but who cares) and some nice looking ladies(or lads if that's your thing). Overall fun to play and turn off my brain after some more very immersive VR games and demanding Soulslikes lately.

Not sure if I'll stick with it though, depends if friends will play it with me.

Great VR horror game with some serious RE vibes. If you have a PSVR2 you need to play this!

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara

Cute platformer with some Crash Bandicoot inspiration. A bit on the easy side but had its moments.

Fashion Police Squad

I was feeling so smart when I came up with the phrase "Queer Eye for the Doom Guy", just to discover that some damn reviewer had come up with the same thing over a year ago...

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?

Perturbator

Not every game needs to cater to every player. And From are obviously selling enough to make them a major developer lately so they don't need the business of those who complaint anyway.

That being said, and regarding the question: I admit I gave up on the latter levels of Super Meat Boy back in the day. Just too damn difficult for a platform casual like me. But I feel I got enough enjoyment out of the game and I have no complaints though. Kudos to anyone who did complete it!
