I haven’t watched anime for over 15 years. Thought I’d give Edgerunners a go since I loved the game. Boy, it was good!

I will play it again as soon as I can get my hands on a 4090. My initial playthrough was on PS5 a year ago or so.

That’s cool, but it’s not exclusive to PS5 is it? I was under the impression that it works on PC with DualSense controller connected as well.

@PenguinLtd I beat Sekiro quite recently and I see where you’re coming from. The game requires some serious reflexes and parry is absolutely mandatory. There’s just no in between. If you can’t dial those two things in you’re dead, full stop!

Having finished Saints Row (2022) last week I intend to spend this weekend with Steelrising. It is surprisingly good to be honest, really tight and fluid combat.

Going to try Tower of Fantasy at some point, too. But it’ll have to wait until full controller support is implemented.

Kinda figured. I enjoyed the beta but it felt really rough performance wise.

Think I’ll hold off for now until they iron out the kinks.

Pumped for this! Loved the base game.

@Royalblues What stops you from hooking up your PC with the OLED? I barely use my PC monitor nowadays, everything is on the OLED TV (PS5, XSX, PC).

Already finished Returnal but I’m still eager to try it on PC. More FPS in a super fast-paced game like this will be awesome. Granted you have the hardware of course.

Ready to dive back into Night City if new content is on the horizon. Base game was truly enjoyable when CDPR finally managed to work out the performance issues and the game-breaking bugs.

Nah, but I might. Tried Part I in the past but I couldn’t get past the incredibly clunky controls. Guess it’s supposed to be clunky to give you a “realistic” experience but for me it was too much.

If I decide to pick it up I’ll go on easy and just push through the story.

I’m willing to spend over $300 if it has the same kind of crazy battery life as the Elite S2 controller.

Yes but on PC. Performance is okayish, it’s holding a steady 4k60fps on Ultra but there’s ghosting, some pop-in and low texture in places… it’s good fun but the world feels incredibly empty.

Am I missing out on some cool DualSense functionality though?

@Reeneman Despite being significantly faster? That sucks. What’s the bottleneck, PCIe Gen4?

Might pick one up. How much of a performance boost can I expect compared to the stock SSD? I reckon at least a few seconds (depending on game, of course), its theoretical speeds are quite a bit faster after all.

Erm, after watching DF’s analysis it looks like I’ll grab it on PC. I usually play new games on console but 1080p with shaky 60 fps… seriously?

What the f. Revive Japan Studio and make another Gravity Rush game instead. Oh, and while they’re at it update the second game with a 60 fps patch.

Thymesia. Given its price I think the game is pretty neat. It is rough around the edges for sure and obviously not up to From Software’s standards but still very much enjoyable.

This is the first time in years I’m actually looking forward to play a new CoD game. I can wait for the normal release, though.

The price is dropping fast for HFW. Didn’t expect that to be honest. Retailers pushing brand-new disc copies for as low as $20 here. Hell, I haven’t even seen GoT for that price yet.

Completed both The Surge 2 and Nioh 2 during the week. Nioh was a lot longer than expected. I tried only pushing the story but still ended up with almost 50 hours of playtime. Great value!

This weekend it’s Sekiro. Game’s brutal… Playing in bursts to prevent myself from smashing the controller to bits. Not sure how far I’ve gotten but I just put the Corrupted Monk to rest.

Owwww that’s a bummer! But I guess it’s for the best, we don’t want a half-assed game.

Extra is doing well though, not particularly interested in this lineup but the selection itself is solid. I have tried to like Yakza games many times before, but eh guess it’s time to give ‘em another shot.

If I would only play one of above Yakuza titles, which one should I pick?

Well… Retailers around here literally only sells HFW bundles, and have been for quite some time now. So it’s not like you have a choice (given that you want the console, of course).

@Lavalera Eh, I got to disagree with magic being for Souls veterans. I’d say they usually consider using magic as “cheating” or being “easy mode”.

But you’re completely right, trial and error is the way to go to find your preferred play style. As mentioned, you can always change your mind and respec (not right away but a bit later into the game).

@Lavalera Elden Ring is likely much easier than Sekiro. You got so much at your disposal. It’s open world for starter, meaning you can farm levels and whatnot if you’re stuck. Second, there’s always the option go the magic route, which is somewhat OP in Dark Souls games.

I’ve got Sekiro coming up next myself, we’ll see how I fare… Getting on with Nioh 2 pretty good at the moment.

This week I am tackling The Surge 2 and Nioh 2. Both games are great in their own right.

The Surge 2 is definitely easier since as soon as you got parrying dialed in everything feels like a breeze except for some bosses. Nioh 2, on the other hand, is much harder in my experience. Lots of game mechanics to keep track of and master.

I don’t know. Maybe. If it doesn’t have English voice-over it’s definitely a pass.

@Fenbops Yeah, I doubt Microsoft will remove CoD from PS any time soon. The revenue stream is probably nothing to scoff at!

It’s probably going to take some time for EA to rebuild Battlefield’s reputation.

Good news. I’m not particularly fond of EA but if someone was to acquire them today it’d be the likes of Tencent. And if EA could get any worse, that’d be it, to be snapped up by Tencent.

August: Saints Row and Soul Hacker 2.
September: Steel Rising and Evil West.

I’m not familiar with any of above titles (not even Saints Row) but they all look interesting and hopefully worth grabbing day one.

$45 or more. No question about it.

@shadow2k Well, yeah. I played it on PC but I was curious so I bought the PS5 version as well. From what I tell it's only cheap ray tracing reflections. No ray tracing shadows, ambient occlusion or global illumination etc. But to be fair I don't know any console game that features full ray tracing.

Seems about right. Even the visuals on PS5 wasn’t that good. No native 4K and most ray tracing was cut from the console versions. But gameplay as super smooth!

They’re ok. I’ve tried to like the Yakuza games several times because it’s a highly rated series but they never click with me, unfortunately.

Tony Hawk is a pass. Surely a good game but definitely not my type of game.

As a matter of fact I have never played those games. I’m terrible at racing games.

Yikes, that sucks. I hope physical still holds strong. The pricing of digital media in my (high tax) country is ludicrous. There’s always at least a $20-30 price difference between physical and digital.

@Agramonte So it is indeed the same game as Sword and Fairy 7 but for console, right? Bought it a while back on PC but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

@ED_209 No. HDMI 2.1 Forum VRR (which PS5 uses) is available for 1440p.

That’s why I find it strange Sony didn’t implement it.

@carlos82 Yessir, it’s a weird one. Check the fine print on the blog. I guess it’s not in their interest to openly point that out.

@carlos82 You know what’s worse? This update does not support VRR when using 1440p. VRR is only available for 1080p and 2160p. One can hope this gets sorted before the official release.

@claytortot213 I don't have any sources to back that up but honestly I wouldn't be surprised. Piracy on PC is as rampant as usual, I guess.

@Would_you_kindly Maybe things have changed but I remember when I was a poor chap like 15 years ago the Scene-groups cracked pretty much every single game within days.
