Re: Reaction: Sony's Billion Dollar Bungie Buyout Is Looking More and More Like a Blunder

Tecinthebrain

@BeerIsAwesome "If Sony overpaid for Bungie, what do you even call the Microsoft buyout of Activision?"

Considering the revenue of a certain Activision property (not even including Candy Crush, WoW) Microsoft will make it's money back easily. Destiny is allot of things but it's certainly not COD!

Also no they didn't overpaid for the other live service studios like Haven and Firewalk, they shouldn't have been bought to begin with! Jim was panic buying and ultimately the developers will suffer the consequences.

Re: Marvel Rivals' Closed Beta Is Putting Concord's Player Numbers into Perspective

Tecinthebrain

The Concord trailer actually had me interested in the world until eventually it was revealed to be live service Overwatch nonsense! It made the characters seem to have more personality than they will actually have.

Perhaps we will all be wrong and it will be the next Helldivers 2, I will come in here and apologize but that's very unlikely unless they show something drastic or that there's more meat to the bones.

Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC

Tecinthebrain

@Atreus97 Like some have mentioned Sony has ips that would actually translate perfectly to live service, no one here would have anything negative to say if they announced a live service Socom game. That would be amazing, but they seem to think a live service game has to be a new ip or go to hell 😐

Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC

Tecinthebrain

"The problem for Concord is that many PlayStation fans have had their pitchforks out for the project since the start"

Well that doesn't apply to the PC gamers, they don't care either way they just want to play fun games regardless of who makes it. But yeah this game looks like it's going to bomb like Destruction Allstars, if you had forgotten that game existed well you're not alone.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Concord Open Beta?

Tecinthebrain

@UltimateOtaku91 "I will get the game on release and play as much as I can in the first few months just in case it dies off."

If you're not even optimistic about it's future than the game is more screwed than I thought πŸ˜… the game does look very polished and nothing looks bad but we'll see if it will be successful without it having to do something original.

Re: Capcom Ends New Content Support for Exoprimal

Tecinthebrain

@DennisReynolds "Two F2P games just launched this week to great numbers."

Most F2P games launch to good/great numbers, it has to be a bum ass game to not have a decent launch. The problem is the player base starts to fade in a couple of months and the game is dead by the end of the year. Don't make me name all the games that this has happened to, I don't want to make a thesis long post.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard's In-Depth Difficulty Settings Even Have a No Death Option

Tecinthebrain

@jrt87 "Now you have the hardcore crowd who claim there doesn't need to be any choice"

Who's making that argument for games that aren't made by Fromsoft? I haven't seeing anyone say GOW Ragnarok needed to be one hard more and that's it. Now if Hidetaka Miyazaki adds a slider to Fromsoft games because he wants to then fine, what I don't want is him being shamed into adding difficulty modes.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard's In-Depth Difficulty Settings Even Have a No Death Option

Tecinthebrain

@UltimateOtaku91 "Nice to see devs make their game cater to anyone, take notes FromSoftware"

Or we can let devs make the games they wanna make? This is what BioWare wants in their game so they have every right to make it this way, I would be screaming at anyone telling them to make it Souls-like!

So in short let BioWare, Miyamoto, Kojima, etc cook the way they want to cook. That also applies to Hidetaka Miyazaki, let the man make the games that bring him happiness (in turn also makes Souls fans happy).

Re: Round Up: Concord PS5 Previews Seem Torn on Sony's New Shooter

Tecinthebrain

@ChrisDeku "Sony liked this game so much they bought the whole studio during development. I tend to put some value on that."

Well they also bought Jade Raymond's studio and she didn't even have a screenshot to show. All these studios (Firewalk, Bungie, Haven) were bought around the same time when Jim woke up one day and decided that it need to have more live service games or die trying!

Re: PS5, PS4's New PS2 Emulator Fails to Pass Tech Test

Tecinthebrain

If the PS2 emulator is this awful I should completely forget about a PS3 emulator as it would probably melt my PS5. Like the top comment mentioned why not hire emulator enthusiasts who would do a better job? Also PCSX2 runs on series X/S so they have a better PS2 emulator than PlayStation πŸ˜’

Re: Broken, Battered Elden Ring Players Review Bomb Shadow of the Erdtree for Being Too Hard

Tecinthebrain

@get2sammyb I don't remember seeing you complain about Horizon 2 being the opposite of a Fromsoft game? that game was constantly holding your hand and solving the puzzles for the player? All that was missing was the game playing itself and the player just watching πŸ™

Fromsoft prides itself on making difficult games and it looks like the dlc does just that! Not sure what Steam players were hoping but yeah this is like going to see a horror movie and being mad that it scared you.

Re: PlayStation Studios' Bluepoint Games Still Working on Its Mysterious 'Original Title'

Tecinthebrain

@man_what "am i the only person on earth who felt like demons souls remake was technically beautiful but polished all of the "soul" (lol) out of the game??"

Probably πŸ˜… I played both at launch and the remake was a very accurate presentation of the original, not sure what you found wrong with it. They left the game completely intact almost to a fault, it's just a really pretty version of that. If you can explain what was the "soul" they took out?

Could it be perhaps mental? What I mean is since you know it wasn't Fromsoft who made it perhaps you feel they weren't there to put their special in house sauce. That shouldn't be the case because it was co-developed with the great Japan Studio who co-developed the original (along with Bloodborne!).
