Looking forward to trying the 3D Blu-ray support on VR. My 3D TV crapped out on me last summer and I never replaced it... Still have a stack of 3D Blu-rays on the shelf though
I wasn't interested in it at all until the last few days when I started seeing reviews. I definitely will pick it up at some point now, but not when it releases only a few days before Switch and BotW. This will have to wait until after Zelda. First time I see it on sale I'll pick it up.
I played the first 90 or so minutes in VR... Then the cat brushed up against my leg. Scared the crap out of me. Finished the rest on the TV. When I play it again for the rest of the trophies, I'll give VR another go... Lock the cat out of the room this time.
I bought myself a PS VR. Wrapped it up, marked it to myself from Santa, and left it under the tree. I knew wife wouldn't question Santa in front of the kids, but I'll have to feign ignorance later when she starts asking questions...
You know what, Hyper Void was on PS + before I got my headset, and I had never actually tried it. When I was looking through at the VR games, I had totally forgotten that I had Hyper Void available to download. Thanks for the memory jog!
Loved Wolfenstein, so excited for that. Evil Within, I bought, and I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't get into it. We'll see, maybe give that another try
I didn't think the game was great or anything, but I'm surprised at the hate its gotten. It's easy, but its fun. I'd give it a 6 or 7. I had previously played the Vita version, though, so I had a good idea what to expect.
Edit:. And that being said, I think Pushsquare's review of the Vita version is a much better review for this game, since it's basically the same game with a little more polish. I guess the Vita version gets a little more slack being on weaker hardware.
Edit Again: "Much better review" is being more harsh than I intended. This review is well written and there's nothing wrong with it. Reviews are opinions, and my opinion of this game more closely aligns with that of the reviewer who did the Vita version... there, that's what I meant. Yeah.
I bought one last summer on sale for $30. I already had a vita and a ton of digital games. The PS TV lives in my sons room, kind of a starter console for him. loaded it up with the games i own that are appropriate for him, and he can use it to stream PS4 games. Its been basically a Minecraft / NHL 16 machine, but for the price its been well worth it for him. He loves it.
Can't say i've ever been bothered by the DS4 battery. Own 2, keep one plugged in and switch when required. Battery life has been a much bigger issue with the Wii U, where you can't purchase a second gamepad, and not all games support the pro controller (which has SPECTACULAR battery life...)
The Telltale Games Walking Dead series has been one that puzzles me. Why is it that season 1 is worthy of a Plat, but season 2 isn't. That's the kind of crap that needs to be sorted out.
Nah, thanks, I'm good. Enjoyed this game the first time around on Wii U, and played through the inferior PS4 port for the trophies. At this point it's safe to say that that ship has sailed...
nope. never. I have no desire to watch others play games, and I don't have the type of ego that would lead me to believe anyone should ever want to watch me play.
If I'm feeling social, I have friends over to play the Wii U.
My biggest pet peeve is when people refer to hockey as 'ice hockey'. Hockey is played on ice, specifying so is redundant. It only needs a precursor if you're playing some wacky variant, like field, floor, or air hockey. And now you know.
Also, I'm pretty much done with EA hockey games... stripping out features from '15 so they can 'wow' us when they get added back into '16 is beyond lame... although not unexpected from EA. I wish somebody, ANYBODY, else would make a hockey game. Doesn't need to be a hardcore sim or anything. a wacky 3 on 3 arcade game for Vita would be great. something like Hit The Ice, or the NHL Hitz series... just not made by EA. If they guys who made Super Mega Baseball wanted to try their hand at a hockey game in that style, i'd be all over it...
I've been looking forward to this but was kinda worried it would be one of those games that can't live up to the potential (looking at you, Wander...). Glad this review came out while the preorder discount is still available.
I enjoyed the original and wouldn't mind playing through it again for Trophies on PS4, if the price is right. I doubt it'll be as good on PS4, given that the original was really only a mediocre game with fantastic Gamepad mechanics, it can really only go downhill with the Gamepad removed. That, and we all know Ubisoft has never 'optimized' anything. They are the king of the lazy port.
Zombi U was, and is, the best example of what could be done with the Gamepad. As a survival horror game, it had atmosphere in spades and was quite enjoyable. I liked it enough that I might buy it again on the PS4, at the right price. Comparisons to TLOU are just silly. Ones a survival horror game, the other other Uncharted 4: Drake's Infection. TLOU was a great game, but as a fan of horror games, I'd take zombiU. That nursery stage is scary as hell.
Until Dawn is the only thing in that list I'm really looking forward to. Tear Away was good on the Vita, but I feel like it would lose a lot without the Vita's features/ inputs... That one is a wait and see. Uncharted 4 is, well, more Uncharted. I'll pick it up when its on sale, but can't say I'm terribly excited for it. Not saying any of the other stuff looks bad, just not for me.
Bethesda had the best conference for me. Doom and Fallout look great. I found Sony disappointing. Guardian didn't interest me 7 years ago, or however long its been, and it doesn't look good now. Not a FF fan... Shen-who? (Seriously, never heard of it. And I'm not into Jap style stuff... So, pass). Robot dinosaurs look good, but not my thing. Uncharted looks like like more uncharted. Not a bad thing, but nothing to write home about.
Zombi U was, and still is, the best example of what can be done with the gamepad... but thats really all it is. porting it to a system like the 4 or the One means stripping away its only worthwhile qualities, or at the very least making them exclusive to Vita / Smartglass owners. Whats left is a pretty ho-hum, generic zombie game...
Still interested in this one, but I'm gonna wait and see what happens with any patches or updates. I wanted this to be great, but feared it might be a little too ambitious. Hopefully they keep working to improve it.
Not sure if I made the deadline on that or not... I got mine late may or early June 2012. Either way, I don't have my reciept anymore, so its a moot point. Ah well.
Not surprised you didn't publish the list of the top 5 reasons given for each console... It makes ps4/ xb1 owners look pretty dumb. Basically boils down to Wii U owners base their purchases on video games, PS4/ XB1 base their purchase on the belief that it makes them better than the idiots who bought the other console...
I bought my PS4 essentially because the 360 was unreliable. After going through multiple RRoD on 360's, I switched to PS3. When the time game to upgrade, I was already invested in PS ecosystem as PS3/ Vita owner...
Nope. Nintendo has the iconic characters to make this work, Sony just doesn't. Same reason PS All-Stars Battle could never hold a candle to Smash Bros.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 157
I've been playing the arcade mode in Doom the last few days, just high score chasing. Not gonna start anything big right before BotW...

don't care, Breath of the Wild. My ps4 will be collecting dust soon.
Re: Sony's First-Party Lineup Is the Most Impressive Right Now
Well if Pachter says....* rolls eyes *
If Pachter told me the sky was blue, I'd ask for a second opinion.

Re: Talking Point: Which Free January 2017 PlayStation Plus Games Do You Want?
I would love to see them offer something with VR support....
Re: PS4 Firmware Update 4.01 Puts in a Surprise Appearance
Most stable system around? I dunno about that. It's got a ways to go before it can challenge the 3DS...
Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?
nope. I'd be much more intersted in a Vita2....
Re: PS4 Pro Confirmed, Launches November 2016 for $399
That's a big nope...

So, patches should make it actually playable by.... June 2017, maybe?

I've been waiting for a sale on Gone Home, so excited for that. Rest is a little 'meh'....

Re: Rumour: Two of Your November PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Leaked
Having already played both TWD Season 1 & 2, I would've preferred season 1, just for the easy Platinum.
Re: Opinion: PS4 Firmware Update 3.00 Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Only useful feature in the new update was the added cloud storage... The rest is needless clutter and bloat.

Wolfenstein for me. Loved that game.

Octodad has a new (different) trophy list on Vita! Loved it on PS4, definitely playing it through for all the trophies again.
