I’ve had this one on my Quest 2 wish list for a while, and I really enjoyed New Super Lucky’s Tale…. Guess now I have to decide if it’s worth playing through a screen door in exchange for trophies.
@Knuckles-Fajita they are NOT always online. If the Switch is not connected to the internet, on startup it will say "unable to login to Bathesda account", you click okay, and carry in to the game.
And, of course , by "US PSN Account", you actually mean a PSN account registered in any of 18 different countries in North, South, and Central America, because as much as they like to think they are, the US is not the be-all end-all of the Americas. Right?
This has to be because theres always copies of 5 and 6 in the Walmart bargain bin. An abundance of cheap copies available is the only logical explanation.
I don't go into non-Mario Kart Kart racers expecting Mario Kart quality, but the last Sonic racer was pretty solid. I'll definitely pick this up for a change of pace from MK.
Played through the Arizona Sunshine campaign today on PSVR with the Aim Controller. Some of the controls for opening doors and interacting with switches are a little wonky, but other than that, very fun game. Picked up the DLC this evening while it's on sale, but I'll save that for another time. If I get some time tomorrow, back to Turok on Switch.
They're well within their rights to not allow cross play. It's a bone head PR move to not allow it, but that's their right. That said, they should just be honest about. "Nope, we don't wanna." is the only honest answer. Right now they're lying through their teeth, and it looks awful on them.
Was The Inpatient not this year? Really enjoyed that one, that'd be my pick. I don't use my PSVR very much, though. As fun as it is, it's very isolating. Based on what I'm seeing here, I'll have to make some time to play Astrobot, though.
I meant to cancel my pre-order, totally forgot about it. It arrived in the mail today. I'm keeping it just because it looks great on the shelf next to the NES and SNES minis, but my gawd the emulation on this thing is brutal. It's a pretty half-assed effort on Sony's part.
Edit:. My 9 year old has been having a blast playing Demolition Derby. He says "this game is pretty fun, even though it looks all gross and pixely."
lol
I'm torn. Game lineup is pretty meh, but I want the box on my shelf next to the NES and SNES Minis. I have a pre-order, remains to be seen if I keep it.
I can go either way on it. kinda depends how I first played the game, I guess. Its fantastic in Splatoon / S2, and I find those games almost unplayable without it. Games like Doom and Wolf2 that I played on PS4 first, I can't get used to using the gyro aiming on Switch. I'm not gonna cry about motion aiming not be there, but when it's there from the get go, it can be great.
I dunno... I don't think games from this particular era hold up that great. I feel no nostalgia for terrible 1st gen 3d polygonal graphics. Skip the PS1 (and Nintendo should skip the N64), and go straight to PS2 (and GameCube for Nintendo). Let people who haven't touched these games in almost 20 years remember them fondly, and don't drag em out to show how God-awful ugly they really are...
I really enjoyed WW2 last year, but I wasnt a fan of any of the MW or BOps titles. I also am generally SP only, so the combo of no SP and going back to a more modern setting mean I could not care less about this game. Was really hoping that CoD WW2 meant we're going to see more WW12 shooters. Ah well.
I usually get really bad fogging the first 10 minutes or so... I like my house quite cool. Never thought of turning the headset on early... Not sure how much it'll help, but it's worth a try.
So, since the VR has only been out a year... When you say almost double, what you mean is this year will see less games... Interesting the spin they put on it
Right now I'm playing Wolfenstein 2, with Horizon and CoD WW2 (single player, none of that online dude bro junk) waiting on deck for PS4. For VR I'm working on Farpoint, then DOOM. On Switch, I'm picking away at LA Noire and DOOM, then RE:R Collection, and hopefully we'll see the story expansion for Breath Of The Wild this month. Add in some Mario Kart with the kids as required. Should be a good Christmas break.
Traded in my Xbox 1 S this weekend towards one of the PS4 Pro sales. So my PS4 is moving to my son's room, and the Pro is taking its spot with the VR in the living room. The Pro came with Horizon, which I had skipped at launch just because it was so close to the Switch release and Breath of the Wild, so finally giving that a go, and picked up Wolfenstein 2 on the PSN store sale. between those and LA Noire on Switch, and some Farpoint on VR after the kids go to bed... my weekend is packed.
I've never played Skyrim, but I'm interested in trying it. As much as I'd like to play the VR version, I just can't see me ever getting enough time to play it that way to do it justice, so I'll be going with the Switch version. Playing anything in VR is difficult when you've got 2 small children. I'm still working on Farpoint, which I picked up a while back, and I'm definitely picking up DOOM VR. Games like those that are shorter, linear shooters, I can pick away at slowly in VR. Skyrim is one where I think I need the convenience factor of the Switch to be able to put enough hours in to it.
Sammy, go back and watch the first Vita ads. They portray an experience much closer to what the Switch offers than anything the Vita was ever capable of. The one that sticks out in my mind was an ad featuring MLB The Show. Buddy is playing the PS3 version, checks his watch, drops the controller, picks up his Vita and continues his game while strutting down the street. People realized very quickly that those ads were taking liberties and that the actual system did not work as it was portrayed in the ads. They didn't show buying 2 copies of the game (if the game was even available on both systems), syncing your save file (if it actually supported cross play) , reloading the game in the 2nd system, then trying to play on a controller that didn't have enough buttons.
When the Switch was first shown, a lot of people were skeptical of the hybrid nature and if it would actually work as shown in the ad. It does work like it shows in the ad. For EVERY game. Nintendo delivered the experience that Sony promised, but never really tried to offer in reality...
If they had focused more on the Vita just being a great handheld in it own right (which it was, i loved mine), it might have had a better chance of finding its audience, but it always felt to me like their marketing was pushing the AAA title cross-play experience a little too hard when those experiences were very few and very far between.
Just let me use the Switch Pro Controller with the PS4. Used to love the DS4, but it's a distant 2nd place now. But seriously... battery, lose the touchpad, and either offset sticks or both on top like the ol' Wii U Pro Controller. Also battery. There's no excuse for that battery...
Odyssey and DOOM on Switch, mostly. Would like to pick away at Farpoint some as well, but to be honest, the VR is a pain in the ass to set up and I'm lazy...
Picked up the Farpoint/ Aim controller bundle last weekend. Played that up until Mario came out on Friday, now its Mario time. Finished up the main story in Mario Saturday night, but there's so much more to do post-credits, I'll be at it for a long while yet. The rest of Farpoint is just gonna have to wait...
I bought one last Christmas... Haven't touched it in ages. Last game I played on it was RE7. Don't think I've touched it since Switch released.
As cool as the PS VR is, it's kind of a pain in the ass. Thing is a flying spaghetti monster of cables, and I find it very isolating. As a father with 2 young children, I would never play it while they're around, just because I don't want be "that guy", ignoring his kids with his head literally in a video game, and I find even playing it after they've gone to bed, it makes me nervous. They could be screaming bloody murder and I'd never know the difference. 10 years ago, when I was a single guy living alone, I would have used it daily and played everything I could get my hands on for it... Now, it just doesn't suit my lifestyle (doubley so now that the Switch is a thing... Switch suits my lifestyle. Anything that ties me down to a tv like a caveman does not...)
EDIT: I really wanted to play Farpoint with the Aim controller when that released, but to this day I've never seen the bundle in store or in stock online. Not being able to track that down pushed me away from the platform when I was still looking to be drawn in...
Haven't touched my PS4 or XB1 since the Switch came out. If the PS5 isn't hybrid, it will be the first Sony console I'll take a pass on. Done being tied to my tv like some sort of caveman.
This game was great on 3DS. I got the Wii U version free through Club Nintendo at some point along the line, but I don't think I ever played it there. If I do pick this up again, it'll be the Switch version. Portability > trophies.
I thought there was a policy that a Platinum had to be achievable with the base game...so games like Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions couldn't lock the Platinum behind an additional purchase. Hopefully this is just an oversight that can be corrected.
Overall, for me it's Mario, followed by Wolfenstein, and South Park. Metroid P4 is by far the most exciting new announcement, but since they didn't actually show anything at all of it, its not gonna make the list.
Spiderman doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like anything special either...
I have both, haven't touched my PS4 since the Switch came out. Love the hybrid nature of the console. There's been a couple games on the PS4 that I was previously interested in that I've not bothered with just because the idea of being tied to the tv to play them seems so archaic now. Once you've had the experience of being able to undock Breath Of The Wild and take it with you, there's no going back to being tethered to your tv like some kind of caveman...
Kind of on the fence with this one... We'll see. Haven't played anything on my PS4 since the Switch released, and haven't touched my VR since RE7. I'll probably pick it up if I can actually find the Farpoint / Aim bundle in a store...
I picked up a physical copy of The Order for $20 the summer after it came out. I thought it was well worth it at that price. $3.99 is a steal, the easy Plat is a nice bonus, too.

No Contra?! Fine... DOOM, Wolfenstein, and Doom again.
Also, Luigi's Mansion. And Link's Awakening.
Re: Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Is Real, Crosses Streams with PS4 in 2019
Really enjoyed this game on the PS3. I'd rather a Switch port, but failing that, I'll dust off the PS4 to play it through again.

I have one. Haven't turned it on in years. Looks good next the PS Mini on my shelf of cool looking but useless boxes, though...

@resigamer28 different game. This one came out in '09. Much better game than the latest one you're referring to.

Still Zelda.
